That link you posted was malware bait cancer, please host the file somewhere less dangerous.

A note from when I was working through this, on a fresh VPS running ubuntu, I had to run "sudo apt-get update" before anything else

Also, in order to connect, I had to create a file in the /server directory:
dataVersionNumber.txt
Content: whatever the current version is, when I did it it was 73

Cogratulations on your current record Thorware. Both times you beat me up by simple minutes, although I might agree you started your runs a bit later then I did so I was even slower (taking 1:25 before you still beat me with in 1:15 of your time).
We need to admit your record with 1:15 ingame time and 1:30 between apocalypses.

Looking at times presented and points you already rasied about apocalypse skipping most of the tech tree - we can all agree thats way to easy to doom everyone. Thats exactly why some of us speedrun it - to prove the point by sheer number of apocalypses we grind in one day right after update.

On a side note, I would really enjoy to speed run exactly this.  Please give me a way to do so that doesn't troll every player in the game in the process.

So I just started playing again, last played a couple hours ago and apparently everything got destroyed and now there are mostly eves and eve babies... I haven't seen an advanced civilizations, I have spawned from an eve 7 times in a row now, is this true?

Someone triggered an apocalypse, and apparently it affects all servers.  Global reset.

Thats awful

Tell me about it.

If one does - every server does. GG, WP. Start over.

Man, this just killed my motivation in a big way.  I moved to a high numbered server so that I could try my hand at building a nice town from scratch, put in about 5 hours today on it and it was coming along beautifully.  Go to check on it again tonight, ... gone.  I went to a high number server to avoid the bs caused by a high population server, but their shenanigans caught me here too.  So now you can push towards apocalypse and grief 10+ servers at a time?  Ugh.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm the one who caused the apocalypse and I also had a pet city, Ovenpost. Been working on that one for weeks. It was important for me to know how easy it is to do this sort of thing, and just what happens, because now both you and I know not to get attached to cities in this game.

Eh, I'm not mad at anyone in particular, of course it was going to be triggered as quickly as possible, I don't blame anyone.  It is unfortunate that it is across servers, although that does make for a more effective apocalypse I suppose.  Nice job on Oventown, I'd spent a few lives there, mostly cleaning up clutter.

#8 Bug Discussion » Warping when interacting with objects in windowed mode » 2018-04-05 03:15:47

This consistently happens since the latest update.  If I am in windowed mode and interact with an item, occasionally I will get stuck bouncing for a time, then warp so far away that I only see scribles.  At this point, if I click to move, it warps me back and I have full control again.  Unfortunately this stall can last several minutes.

Here is an example of this happening:

I know this looks similar to lag behavior, but on the exact same system if I play the game full screen it never happens, but if I play windowed it will happen consistently.
