Jason said that kids inherit your home marker only if it's onscreen when they're born.
It happens to me too. I think it would help if the urgency of the chimes (higher pitch, higher frequency) smoothly rose to a "crescendo of death", timed appropriate to your temperature. maybe even make the screen fade to black in the last seconds. Makes it even more dramatic when you're sprinting to a berry bush, and also gives you more reliable clues about when to stop and grab that carrot from your backpack.
You could make a separate "ancestor-descendant" table, with an index on both its columns. When someone is born, you do a batch-insert of all their mother's ancestors, plus one more insert for their mother. Then you can do a single sql query joining this to the player table to get all descendants of X ordered by generationNumber.
You can also stake a milkweed stump if you accidentally harvest it when it's not fruiting.
(edit: oh, that's probably what pein meant by "picking it bad.")
Looks like the latest Boots lineage died out at 88. What happened? Inadequate timezone coverage?
How did they do it? Using Discord I assume? Did they find a way to bypass the lineage block? Or just had the discipline to wait for it to expire each time?
Jason, would it be possible to publish (here or on the family tree page) how many unique email addresses are in the spine of the family tree?
