I was there too, baking pies all day long. Cannot say I didn't warn people. They still wanted to feed that devil spawn. Even after he was running around an with arrow in his backpack they were like: "he will be a good boy." big_smile

I was born in the West village as Johnny West. It was my second incarnation there today.

In my last incarnation the village was thriving. But this time I was born to a loving mother who raised me by the berry farm. I worked there hard and taught some new kids how to add soil and water to the berries. We got the farm running again but then we ran out of soil because someone had let the sheep out of their pen.

When I reached adulthood I did the odd job here and there before finding out our town had literally one basket. I had good clothing and a backpack so I ventured out into the wild to get new baskets. After few years of walking I found a cart with two baskets and two arrows. There was also a bow nearby and someone had died close by. I took the cart with baskets and made two more with the wheat I found from the savannah. But alas! When I started my journey back home I found out I had no home marker. So I fumbled around in the dark for some good decade or two.

Finally I found my way back to the town and the people were delighted about the baskets. Before my journey I had asked the village prostitute to marry me if I found the baskets. Well she didn't want to marry but we had good times together and a child. Yeah, seems like prostitution is blooming in the town and also 1/3 of the berry bushes were already dried up yellow. Then me and a nice woman whose name escaped my mind were going to find rope to catch the sheep back to the pen. But little did we know that there was no rope or milkweed in the town.

So we went southwest of the town with this relative lady of mine, who actually gave birth while we were on the road. But I was getting old and had to drag the cart behind me so I lost sight of them. I found some milkweed though and saw a mirage of a baby boy who I tried to feed but he just disappeared. After some time which felt like an eternity I found my way back to the village starving. Near the pen I was just about to eat some of my pie when the lady who didn't know I was starving took it. So there I finally died to malnutrition just when we had the chance to get the sheep back. It is okay, I just hope they got things in order because the place was a mess. Famine killed people here and there and it felt like a ghost town compared to what it was before.
