a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

Not to mention only browns can build apocalypse towers, a mechanic that was added to give every family a big reset button as an endpoint. Now it's only the jungle families' decision to build it and, depending on where it's built, their responsibility to prevent its completion too
I like this visibly sick thing everyone else was thinking. I don't know if it should have much actual effect on the player though. The most it should do is start taking away your extra yum pips instead of preventing you from eating, or taking away from your proper food pips.
There's also an issue with this '5-in-a-row' where you could switch to carrots every 4th berry, then this counter reset. Maybe if it was a number of repeat eatings in a given time frame.
It's also a problem for eve camps where the only food around is berries, burdocks, onions and carrots. It should only be applicable if the food itself only counts for one pip, like in deep lineage civilisations
If we did have armour, it would have to tie into this "Voting off the island" thing that Jason wants. There should be something stopping players from being able to
1. Wear it
2. Mass produce it
Possibilities include having to be below a certain number of curses
Having a gene score above a chosen threshold (that depends on the range and averages of the current gene scores, number of players, etc.)
Something to do with the leadership system or posse system
What if landing strips can only be built within certain range of a family well?
Only issue is that gets rid of tutorial escapees
I could see this being used to stream snipe. If everyone blessed a streamer by watching their stream and knowing their name, they'd be able to find them in every game (If they were born into the same family to bless them first). When you curse someone, you're prevented from meeting them. Being born more often to that target allows griefers to mess up their life, and the victim only has one curse token to use at a time for each stream sniper
Yes! Return of the king!
YES! I can finally write shit on paper without having to look like a witch doing so!
I actually managed to write basic instructions on wolf farming by age 30.
Perhaps not diseases, but just afflictions in general. Slowness caused by pains, curable using aspirin from willow trees, is something I've been wanting to see
This is like the tenth time you've announced you've come back, and I feel like the "I'm back" threads are the only ones I've seen from you.
Holy shit I forgot about that one.
That was the first to get a big laugh out of me
This one will stand the test of time
I'm pretty sure this is the third time I've seen a thread like this. The last few times, Jason has addressed it and pointed out that's when he had someone else help him make the game. Since he's solo, working that fast is impossible. Plus I think he was just exaggerating the fact that he would be adding content every week
This means we can still colonise, right? But we have to bring a cart of stones and a shovel along with us
I can see this thread getting locked soon, should this continue
Move on with your lives and do something else with your time! And don't play this game... ever again! Or try to dissuade others from playing by one means or another!
I predict that you'll have a better life if you stop playing and never play this game again.

Anyone here familiar with Spacestation13? Now that is a game that does chemistry right. So many chemical reactions, life-saving medications, and hallucinogenic drugs.
Chemistry is powerful stuff!
Literally was going to put SS13's chemistry system in my post. It's so gooooood
There's real chemistry inside of OHOL? I don't think so.
I can agree with this. I've been thinking about the chemistry in OHOL as well, and the fact you can make these chemicals from scratch using the raw resources in the ground is awesome. We have all these bowls and bottles of nitric acid, and sulfuric acid, or various reactive metals, but the freedom is lacking.
That is to be expected of course, given that each item must be hand drawn and added as an individual item, including intermediates. I am definitely looking forward to Jason expanding on the tech tree around the chemical parts though, the most likely additions being various cures and treatments to illnesses that may come down the line
That's because you didn't use the tools, you just gathered them. In the real world, you wouldn't need someone to teach you how to pick stuff up and put it in a box. Well, you should need someone to teach you how to ride a horse though
Aww. I was a lone wanderer once too, and found an Eve. Never got to tell her how I excited I was to find another human being in this destroyed town
I guess it's more important now than ever to wall off your precious items. You need a large item warehouse to keep safe from raiders, which will be more common now with these racial limitations.
Also gives trade more fair transaction. You'll only take out your items if they take out theirs
I've been doing it for a number of lives now, wondering if people have seen the mark I've left on the world
One more row of eight south, and two more rows of eight north
Pine trees cost no hunger to cut down, and yield the same amount of logs and firewood as any other tree, making it ideal to mass farm when needing firewood.
Obviously, you should be growing trees with branches too, should you need a source of kindling.
“MY NICKNAME IS JASONSUCKSDICKS”
See how this could be abused?
I think people would do that at first, then get bored of it. More likely people would use it for naming themselves roles, or RP names like "Queen".
Bumping cus its a cool project. Again
Paper family. My mother is a nomad surviving in the wild because she's big brained, and her city was basically dead. No food. It's been like that for a few hours now, sheep getting killed followed by famine followed by people running to wild only to come back again. For about 4 hours as far as I know.
I'm in this little nomadic group of brothers and sisters, only some of us make the journey. We run into an abandoned camp and set up base with our fences there, farming and gathering resources ready for this raid my mother was planning. As we're prepping, we see the Hot family die out. Then the Slutz family only 2 seconds later. As a result, there was a massive baby boom as all those players start being born to us. It was about 20 years of pain, watching our children starve, or grow and become helpless as the adults had most of the food (Or some of them were incompetent. Looking at you, oven-to-kiln Finn Paper!). Eventually I ran out of tool slots and just lost my patience. I grabbed my brother by the arm and filled up on food, and set out with my now late mother's knife and medical supplies she had taken with her at a young age.
I had two of my young relatives follow us too, and there was an abundance of mouflons I was able to skin for them.
Only a 4 minute walk north east. We found the stone road, and a horse rider nearby. I tell my squad to follow him to find the town, and it was really not hard, I recognised the route almost instantly. Sure enough, I walk closer and closer to the gate and OH MY GOD WHY ARE THERE SO MANY BODIES.
It seems we found the cause of those families going extinct, the entire town was devoid of any food whatsoever, and bodies just everywhere. When we got there, only two people remained (Other than the horse rider). It was pretty sad to see the only girl at 6 years old get stabbed in the chest. After that, the horseman came back and met a gruesome fate, and so the third family went extinct. I found it incredibly hard to believe I witnessed three family endings in one lifetime.
The issue is, when all the families have died out, all those players have only so many places to go. Not only were we hungry and covered in blood, there were the corpses of many starving children ON TOP of the bodies of those long gone from starvation. As far as I knew, this was the end, everyone was fucking dead.
After declaring victory, we kind of just started attacking eachother in pursuit of more blood being drawn.
My realisation that we're one family away from the arc ending:
Here's Sky Paper's baby boom on the family tree
