It's all new artwork and a new game engine. Unless you are Jason's or Dual Decade's lawyer, then you don't need to be here stirring up past drama. The new game isn't even out yet.

You have made two threads about YAH-one about the upcoming game and another one about YAH mineshaft updates, which I have no idea why you posted it because you are a regular in YAH's forums so you knew that the mineshaft update was from YAH.

Also, this is a forum for OHOL. Why are you even posting about YAH here?

Stop trying to create drama WumboJumbo. The new YAH game is on a different game engine than OHOL.

Yea I stopped playing when he did the temperature change and then came back about a month ago to check out the changes. Shortly after I came back, he implemented the iron/ well spring change and I left after a veteran explained how to get iron after the change. The explanation was a paragraph long and I was like how is this game going to survive if the game mechanics are not inherently intuitive for new people or even old players that come back to playing the game?

All the changes now restrict new players to doing anything in the game other than be farm slaves to large towns built by veterans. Everything including being an eve, a town leader, number of tools you can use, etc... is tied to having a higher gene score. It's really messed up.

If you are interested in playing one hour one life before the changes, I would suggest trying the mobile game that is not endorsed by Jason. It has different content since the renaming and is a lot of fun once you get use to the controls.

I came back to ohol to check out the dog fetching. Left after trying to find iron in a past life and no one could give me an answer in the game. Got an answer in the forum but it was so complex that I decided to just stop playing. A lot of the rules in this game make no sense that a newbie or even someone returning would never understand and there’s no tutorial or clues. I started playing the mobile game since it doesn’t have the dumb racist rules and there are mechanics to stop grieving in your town. There is actually new content as well and the developers listen to their gaming community. Also, there are more players.

Maybe Jason should add in more adversaries in the game other than hunger and temp so that he can quit messing with them to make the game more challenging. This game is less about creating a civilization or family and more about not starving or figuring out complex rules.

I made the ring of stones around natural spring and waited but the muddy vein never became a loose iron vein. I asked five players during the game and no one knew.

I started playing when it was released on Steam and stopped shortly after the biome temp change. I started playing again this week but I've had a few games end in RNG death-all boy kids or death by griefer, which makes this game feel like a waste of time honestly. Probably will take a break until something cool enters the tech tree.

But people are already scared of boars. Mean pitbulls are such a rare event that people do not realize that they will kill you. They just see a cute doggy and they get bitten and die. That's the beauty of it!

How about figuring why people /die in the first place and fixing that instead of limiting lives?

People that are already abuse /die won't care if they run out of lives. Time is precious and if they don't get born into a situation they want to play then they will just wait and play another game. The only people that care about running out of lives are your loyal players. Maybe time out the person that /die ten times in a row or maybe polling them to ask them why they are /die-ing so much.

You are throwing the baby out with the bathwater with this update cause it really only punishes new players and loyal players.

We don't need oceans. We need further advancement in civilization like finally becoming a space city that's shown in the trailer. When I originally bought this game, it was about building a place strong enough so that your family could last for several generations or advancing civilization. But with the shift killing update, the long time you spend playing the game doing boring actions (grinding) can be totally wasted in two minutes by some griefer with a knife or war sword. I actually had several lives where I spend several minutes doing boring mundane actions like making compost or farming and it just being a total waste of time because a griefer killed all my kids or I died by RNG cause I had one girl and eight boys or no girls at all.

Your poll really should be on why people are using slash /die not how many lives should you limit people to. A majority of the times I /die is because I was born as a guy which is a total dead end to me cause I am an experienced player and I want to see how far my line can go. The only reason you would stay on as playing a man is if you want to craft some of the advance recipes like the plane or a car or a radio. I assume people are slash dying because they want to be in a certain family as well.

People grind in this game for only two reasons: to build a long lasting family line and to create civilization (town). Create some game mechanics to help us with this please.

Also, with the changes to how easy you can kill people now, I think we should be able to heal ourselves instead of having to rely on others. Make the crafting recipe for a self healing bandage as a wool pad with paper or a wool pad with sap/rubber-something that requires time so that it would take awhile for griefers to make if they have to. You would still have to use a needle and thread when wounded so that it would take up two spots in your backpack. Also the self healing bandage can be rendered useless if it gets dirty by touching the ground so you can't have a bajillion bandages on the ground to use when you are griefing. This would solve a lot of the issues with griefer killings since the village can heal itself and then go after the griefer as a group.  Right now all a griefer has to do is steal the wool pads and then go around killing people.

Game is really boring if you are a solo player. I just played for three hours and it consisted of eve runs where babies were instant suicides because you were just starting or died after toddler/teens or spawning into mega towns which is boring. This game isn't fun anymore unless you are playing with a friend.

Where did you think the outsiders started from? They were naked people in the jungle and desert as well. Just because the "outsiders'" civ advanced faster than the aboriginals, doesn't mean that they don't have a right to exist and live the way they want to.

This game is going down a dangerous road like all other games that make changes due to the pro players complaining. Developers make changes that the pro players want and it basically breaks a game mechanic and drives away new game adopters. Soon all you have are pro players playing with each other, which gets boring and the game dies.

I can't even get an eve camp off the ground or help as a toddler. The temp changes don't make any sense and does not really contribute to the game. How are noobs suppose to know they need to make clothes? Also, in real life clothes do not take that long to make as it does in the game. The only easy option right now is seals. I guess I need to git gud but I don't really see a point. If I manage to git gud, then there is a big chance that all my babies will die and the hour is just wasted. I am really sad to see the direction that this game is going. All the changes seem to be pro player driven and really prohibit new players that are just learning.

I just tested the plane. It doesn't work. I just keep teleporting to the landing strip that is right next to the plane even when there are landing strips farther away.

However, I discovered that you can have your very own mobile road tile. Whenever the landing strip degrades back into a road tile, use the pick on it and it doesn't convert into a flat rock. It becomes a moveable road tile that you can carry and it makes your walking speed as fast as if you were running on a road. When you get bored, then use the pick on it again to make it into a flat rock.

If I start at -28003, -26699 and the town I want to go to is located at -26891,-27224-does that mean I need to travel north east in order to get to the town? Are the differences between coordinates tiles?

Generally the large dynasties are just pros that /die when they don't spawn in their civs. They coordinate through discord. Players might be just slash dying because they think you're a noob because you haven't named yourself or have created a civ in a cold area (any area that is not desert or jungle or near water/soil).

Can you only land and take off on landing strips? What happens if there are no landing strips around when the plane runs out of gas?

I agree. Gameplay gets more exciting when there are efficiency changes to temp regulation (clothes), food creation, water and building.

There are no issues with fast travel after the horse cart. Plus the car and plane have a disadvantage because they require gas. No one needs to travel 300% faster to places and it really doesn't work that well because there is map load lag when you are traveling so fast.

The loom might be a game changer in the future.
