Hmm... maybe. Nothing's really come to mind yet for Three Sisters In A Row, but I just finished the lyrics for The Compost Cycle, so it may take a day or two for the muse to start bugging me.
Would you say you have a specific muse? Perhaps an event, person, or concept? Must be a good one because this is eminem-quality flow right here^
Inspiration is something I always struggle to find for other work, but I agree on the usefulness of jingles in memorization, although for learning purposes this magnum opus may be a bit too lengthy
Everything listed is sadly by design, and time and time again Jason has not budged on those topics.
Which is fair and I both respect and agree with them to a decent extent. A fair few players want what you are talking about - but this is why the game's open source! So you can get together and make a private server with those improvements!
Indeed, the whole nature of the game is based on small improvements for colonies and optimized techniques for players learned from each passing life, I believe some curators have described the game as a "human evolution simulation" which I agree with to some extent, as the life of one particular person doesn't often carry much value to society as whole.
Cumulative efforts are needed, thus emphasizing the ridiculous harshness of the survival aspect of the game, and hence the pleasure derived from succeeding.

Ah yes, dying berry bushes everywhere, no water left in wells, people dying in the desert heat with clothes on, no soil anywhere because of no compost, littering everywhere, people crafting knives, people moving tools and items from their places... Ah, heaven!
Joking aside, I know what you mean; there will be cool towns and cities, but it's gonna take a long time as veterans are stuck with newbies instead of each other. Newbies settle in bad places so survival is a struggle; free time for buildings and gambling is nonexistent due to having to carry dying towns. Lots of the good players are also just teaching their whole lives.
I made wooden floor path in a town once, and instantly newbies gathered to run on it, such technical advancement, such new sight! Hahah.lol newbies are amazed at everything right now
Also what is a good place to thrive and survive?
I would say, maybe in the grasslands a few tiles away from desert/swamp biomes?
Desert for easy food like cactus and swamp for eggs/water?I'm full noob aswell, only played 2 hours of the game so far, i plan to play a few hours tonight, starting in a bit
What you described is pretty much it, early on clay, water, soil, and grass biome for a variety of wild foods are important to get you started, then branches, wood, iron etc. become important. The best way to avoid starving is landing on a grass biome with desert tiles nearby, as temperature control is such a massive influence on hunger (2.5 squares/food per second vs. 20), so that while you're busy crafting you can alternate between the two, keeping your temperature, and thus hunger, ideal.
As one of those noobs (18 hours in now), encountering someone who took the time to teach me something was a massive benefit over someone who focused only on resource/crafting-based colony improvement, as just like in real life the passing on of knowledge is far better long-term for the colony, "teach a man to fish" yknow?
As steam users such as myself pour in, colony states and hopefully player retention rates will improve the most when the newbies learn what to do from their elders, although the influx of guides will slowly diminish that demand. Here's to a better experience for everyone ;D
I doubt you read this, but just wanted to say that your line should be managing just fine. Just north of the original location you put your stuff on was really good spot to begin in, with tons of reeds, wood, water, soil and warm spots. It helped up giving few experienced and inexperienced to learn something new today.
I am sorry that I didn't manage to bring your corpse to our new home. I died before we managed to get our first shovel up and digging, so I had to result on by just knowing you had damn of a unluck while picking location. Hehe. I literally envy you.
Let's see if you beat my 9 generation record by getting much better generation count in a few hours.

I had to make an account just for this, I think its terrific that I stumbled upon these forums the same day your post is on the front page.
I'm (was) Eve Keller!
I mostly use Keller as my family name if I get the choice, and seeing your post title on the main page really got me wondering. Glad I checked it out.
Seeing stuff like this warms my heart, I don't remember much other than the you're curly-haired head running off to the north as I cursed my luck and the lineage of that rattlesnake, but while that life was insignificant for me, the fact that my sole living daughter ended up flourishing in a way I couldn't imagine is awesome, and finding her/my family tree online to show how well she really did is one of the aspects of this game that I truly fell in love with (bought it two days ago on steam, username: rhiser if you want to add me).
I don't think I have any other ways of proving that I was her, but I suppose even if I was lying this post would still be something nice to look back to. Its great to see the continuity of the game manifest itself in a way such as this, and btw, I'm also from Finland (was playing on server 3 I believe)! On a side note, why on earth would you envy me in that situation
P.S. Compact guide sounds awesome, It personally took me forever to realize the basics and min/max nature of this game. Go for it!
