I caught a few curses last time i killed a cursed baby... just sayin

#252 Re: Main Forum » Still thinking about griefers. » 2018-09-11 21:35:30

I think players should be sent to a bad sport lobby like on gta. The more you get cursed the longer you spend there with all the other asshats that got sent there.

#253 Re: Main Forum » Make ohol great again » 2018-09-10 05:32:52

It was cross server wiping too, so someone could do it alone in an empty server and wipe everyone

#254 Re: Main Forum » Make ohol great again » 2018-09-10 02:12:25

Its in the works. He wants it to be something that is hard to do though

OHOL is greater without the apocalypse.

OHOL was greater when the Eves spawned closer together, so there was a greater chance old cities would be found.

I never experienced the apocalypse can you just tell me what happens it sounds so cool

White flash death message you died to the apocalypse.

Then eve hell then apocalypse in 45 minutes. Rinse and repeat you didnt miss much but one persons fun at the cost of bunch of peoples dissapointment

#257 Re: Main Forum » Tired Of Berries » 2018-09-04 05:47:58

I dont think anyone wants to do away with berrys, just make the feilds a bit smaller, and spread them out a hugberry farm sucks to maintain, and is a sponge magnet

#258 Re: Main Forum » Diet & behaviour based physique » 2018-09-03 16:43:07

Like the 5th obesity post lol... would be a good way to know who the sponges are... how bout they turn yellow with black spots to make it more obvious lol

I guess it depends on weather they are doing a compotent job. An experienced player might be able to organize a town and get them moving in the right direction, assign people jobs and allocate resources accordingly.

That being said, Tyrants should be overthrown. What if we tried a democracy, Let everyone have a vote on the next king. No more random babies getting crowned.

Id like to see a competent king. Ive yet to see one do anything but roleplay or wave his/her dick around. Some sort of organizer could serve a purpose the problem comes from the assigner knowing what everyone is capable of. Telling a noob to be a shepard, and pein to tend berrys is going to ruin the sheep pen.

The time scale is going to prevent a good king from being feasible without out of game chat with the whole town

I dont kill people wearing crowns i kill people acting like the crown means they are the boss, and get to order executions, or tell people what to do. Crowns are great designators of jobs. Especially the carrot crown for farmers.

Plenty of people just like the pretty hat, but some take it to far and need to be taken down a peg.

And im not the only one who yells "death to monarchs" i actully stole the idea from some other player after i stabbed a king that decreed that we were to kill all brown people. Someone ran up and yelled Death to monarchs with a bunch of !'s

Thought it was a great way to explain why they died. Also a good indication that i killed someone is that i stand still for questioning after i kill anyone. If i die i die if not i get back to work. Ill also own up to it any time i see people asking what happened. If you wanna retaliate i dont try to run.

Personally I agree that thriving civilizations are pretty dull.

There's usually not enough tasks to be worked on, and with so much of the game done already and piles of food building by the minute, there's just not much to stay interested in.. People end up stepping on each other's toes trying to do things.

Theres always plenty to do in a city, just noone wants to do it, and everyone is in everyones way

Death to monarchs!!!

Work or die! Bossing people around is not working

Personally 3rd gen is my favorite to play. There is plenty to do and plenty to acomplish, plus its usually small enough you know everyone.

#264 Re: Main Forum » You can write with popcorn » 2018-09-03 02:31:15

Writing on tools should be a feature fo sho, but bowls are overkill.

Carving a message in the handle of a tool tho... i need a shovel that says dont bury bones

You try to stablish classes, I try to kill people that do it.

Death to monarchs!!!!

I hate when someone pretends like they are king and ride around on a horse with all the knives. Doing nothing but making up rules, and threatening people.

Doing that is a sure fire way to catch my arrow in your back.

(Nothing against crowns personally i think they should be used as labels, farmer=carrot crown shepard=wolf crown ect... no idea why people want them though... its like painting a target on your head)

#266 Re: Main Forum » Twin Names! » 2018-09-01 15:57:48

I name twins .... "twin I" and "twin II" before feeding them to snakes because they are more often than not griefers. Ive had probobly half a dozen eve camps killed by twins that decide making a bow and killing is priority

#267 Re: Main Forum » N/A » 2018-09-01 15:55:38

I think k is a thousand tiles. I have seen m, but never g.

Probobly means give up hope of ever reaching it.

With a horse 12k is about as far as you can go anything longer than that isn't worth trying

Houses could be a reasonable step forward with OHOL updates.
Maybe instead of the current lock and key system you could claim ownership with a chat command like the /curse.
Close family members could have implicit access.
And if you want to invite a friend with another command like /house_invite_playername
Just a thought, not really sure this would fit OHOL

Yeah im 99.9999% sure that wont happen.

We need a better solution, or just better key management.

Actually, the best learning experiences were in-game when somebody took their time to explain stuff to me.
I still consider myself new to the game with only a month since I started playing it.
I was reading composting guides on forum but it wasn't untill somebody asked me in-game do I want to learn composting that I got the hang of it. I'm relatively new and I still make mistakes even though I try to read up on the guides. For example I filled up trash-pit with dead lambs because I read that you should clean the pen or the dung won't appear if there aren't free spaces. I have never before seen a filled trash-pit so I had no idea they could get filled.

But yeah, I try to approach each life as a learning experience. For example, in one life I decided to spend that life trying to craft my own backpack so I could learn it. It took me 30 years, I spent a lot of time trying to find a needle but in the end I managed to do it and now I know how to craft it and it doesn't take me that long.

Maybe I'm lucky but I was rarely yelled at (even when I ruined the sheep pen) and never killed by another player. Besides, you never know when you will get a chance to learn something new. I was last fertile female in a town and when no baby came the village smith took his last years in a dying village teaching me basics of smithing. I was son of an Eve who died before spawning girls, I spent my life practicing "how to Eve" without the burden of taking care of babies as I had plenty of berry bushes around our camp and all that full hour just figuring out what to do in what order helped me a lot.

This organic learning experience is what I enjoy the most in this game. I love learning new stuff and passing that knowledge to the other players.

This is how i learned alot too, but i was yelled at and scolded dozens of times as part of the learning curve

On some occasions there is not time to teach, but the prospective pupil is very eager and ends up in the way. I have had this happen as eve when i make it to smithing. They are so eager to learn the fuck the whole thing up.

Use a wild carrot and transform it in a domestic one like D3mon1cblack just told ^^

If you want to get your yum bonus up, one carrot pie is enough. Some carrots will always be eaten by some random player passing by so why not use one for a good cause ?

I hide carrot plots behind trees

#272 Re: Main Forum » Stop Locking Up Stuff » 2018-09-01 14:11:15

+2, but its mainly griefers doing it so....

#273 Re: Main Forum » Money » 2018-09-01 14:10:15

I have traded before, but the problem with trade is lack of ownership. Yeah theres locks, but the key is more often than not misplaced you are limited to five small items you can own, and theres not much value there.

I have however traded with neighboring citys. I traded a cart of pies for a cart of backpacks filled with rabbits. (This was before decay when packs were plentiful, huge roads connected many cities, and mutton pies were not yet a thing)

I have also "traded" with a smith a basket of mutton pies got him to prioritize the crafting of a shovel so i could continue composting after some dumbass broke our shovel burying every bone in the city.

The first is a good example of trade, but the pies i brought the smith were quickly stolen by passer bys

If you are lucky enough to have a home that someone else probobly built and locked while you were young, or before you we re born you can have some agency over your property  (although you may be murdered for your key) if you try to build such a home chances are you will be too old to utilize it for long after it is finished.

Just recently i was in a large triplet city where i traded mutton pie for pie crusts. But that was just to clean the pen.. you may know the town. Its the one with the impressive library that when you start reading sounds more like reading a bathroom stall in a highschool. In keeping with the theme i made a note stating "turnipseed was here"

it isn't so much a problem anymore, you can just swap backpack and clothes with babies... so if you have an empty backpack and apron just remove them then swap with the baby, tbh i also do that with elderly when i see they are too old but still cling to the knives for too long without looking for someone to give it away.

Ive seen it happen with the only cloths in an eve camp before... that baby ended up on a boar...
