Being Eve is super easy I get eve just slash dieing three times on average it makes the game unplayable because i cant spawn on any of the big families if i wanted to long term.
Actually, I just tested it myself.
I was able to /DIE through six families (or areas) before becoming Eve. That's okay, right? You have to get born in other places for 1.5 hours before getting born back in the same location again. The distance away is 100. Maybe that's a bit too big? That means there are 49 "bins" across the map to get born into, which I think is plenty.
So I don't think fams are dying out due to area ban.
The map may need to be a bit larger, which I may do before I skip town...
Its not area ban we just have too many eves trust us I have been playing for hours and I either am an eve or im an eve child they take away from the population that kills families.
Just be sure to work hard if you're a new Eve in a big town.
Do the most mundane things people don't want to do, like soil and water berries and hardened carrot rows, feed the sheep and make compost.
Just don't stand around naked in the cold eating the berries; make food and clothing to make up for the additional stress on the towns food production.
That's the thing. They don't let you in they either kill you or you get let in and stabbed later once a person gets a warsword
I hold up a love emote bring sixteen iron to the Lola town and they still dont let me in i then get stabbed

Look for your self This is outrageous.
Return to eve window, please
This Game is Horrible atm a family dies out and get replaced with another eve in under sixty minutes, Engines get griefed and stolen to be hidden in the wilderness. Someone killed all the animals in the northern part of the map. It's not good! Way too many eves and their children roaming and it sucks for city families!!
too many eves and not enough players in towns
Very nice Jason! Although I have been pretty critical of this update it's getting so much better!! Can't wait till the Diesal Iron mine comes out!!!
Why would anyone go trough so much effort to take a little horsie for like 20 minutes just os they can declare peace with a village theyll never meet. Thats dumb
You have to know their language in order to declare peace so its not dumb
This would help to know if peace is declared across everyone on either family. Since many families branch out into different towns
Although the War was fun at first, It quickly turned into a massacre. Although I now enjoy the map, the war sword seems way to OP at the moment. The map is small enough for any family to raid another in under ten minutes. It also seemed iron-depleted way to quick because everyone was making swords. Maybe making so we can recycle steel rods after we recycle the swords? The last issue is probably something Jason cant fix but the lack of morals. When the slinkers raided the Eis towns for retribution our general decided not to kill the last females of the family. This, of course, proved disastrous, and within sixty years the Eis cam back for retribution and killed everyone inside the slinker capital.
So here's what used to happen:
The game had an infinite map. There were families spread out all over the place. You could kill a griefer, and they would get born far far away. So far away that they could never find you. So far away that you'd wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of interacting with that other family ever ever ever. How would you find them?
So, in reality, it's like we mostly had 7 separate families playing on separate servers. This is not what YOU wanted. People have been complaining about this for 15 months straight. "I never see another family. A bell rings, and its 1000s of tiles away. This sucks."
This is one of the many things that I'm working on fixing.
Furthermore, with the infinite map, MOST of what people built was lost within a day. Yes, there was resettlement on rare occasion, but there was no ongoing story. People have been complaining about this for 15 months. "Everything we build is lost. Why is there no permanent civilization that lasts all week? This sucks."
Here's the thing: these are hard problems to solve, folks.
You can't see other families without bringing people together somehow and keeping them together.
You can't have a permanent civ unless people are together, or people are born into the same area to keep working on it somehow.
And if there's a permanent civ that is known to everyone, guess what? If you can find it, so can a griefer! So that means it's not hidden in the infinite expanses anymore.
Another problem: Eves keep griefing, and there are too many weak families around. Let's try a limited Eve window. Oh, well, within 8 hours, there's only one family left, always, and that sucks too. So you need some Eves coming in, I guess.
But I don't even know why. And you don't either. Why in a 500,000 tiles with PLENTY of green/swamp starting spots do we get down to only 1 family in 8 hours? What specifically happened to each of the 10+ families that took root there?
These are REAL and DEEP questions about the very fabric of this game. They touch on resource distribution, respawn rates, Eve spawn rates, baby distribution, player behavior, player preference, etc. etc.
"REMOVE THE RIFT" is like saying
"STOP SEEKING ANSWERS TO THESE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS,"
or
"GO BACK TO THE GAME THAT WE'VE ALL BE BEGGING YOU TO FIX FOR 15 MONTHS"In an infinite map, all these problems are covered up, so we don't need answers. The answer is always the same: just keep walking into the wilderness.
But Jason the rift can only support one family. You have seen this right? The hammers, the rings, Only one family comes out of it. IF you can actually add family interaction which wouldn't result in one family dominating that would be great. Or add more iron so that the rift can support two families.
Maybe people are leaving because they think you are not listening to them.
Grey biome got bigger b/c players said they wanted it bigger, remember?
Whoops.
Where asking for a larger grey biome not more bear spawns. You can fix that right?

You must be MURICAN, to not have a single clue on benefits of communism. You are brainwashed to think that its the purest form of evil not even knowing the whole ideology. Its always demonized by WW2/china and other lousy attempts at it...
Yes its a double edged sword and can be missused easily. Its more like an utopia of what mankind can achieve when they work together and share everything. As an ideology its really something to work towards to. Major problem with it is human greed. So far in every attempt, there has been some kind of leader figure that hoardes everything to himself and executes all who are against him. That really stands against the whole point of the communism and is actually totalitarism/fascism .
If it could be implemented the way its expressed by Marx it would actually benefit the whole world, but as long as we have materialistic selfcentered people, they always gonna ruin it. Main problem with communism is grieffing.

Mao was just super good at grieffing and no one got him to answer for his deeds. All hail the grieff god."All your bases are belong to us"-xXPu55yS14y3rXx
Haha he killed millions of people
You wasted an update on the polls and are not using it. Why don't you use it to see how people like this update?
Bears are making it impossible to actually build a town. You scaled the bears of the grey biome and not the world. Please fix immediately so my village doesn't die.

Currently I feel the game resets everyday and its not fun. I don't think have four kids should trigger apocalypse. Tons of people in the real world have more and their society doesn't crumble. Four is to little to trigger the apocalypse. Raise it back to six so we don't have to repeat the same thing over and over again. Gets repetitive and greatly shortens the life span of families.
There have never been permanent towns, except maybe in the very beginning (15 months ago) but that got stale after about 2 weeks.
So we haven't had permanent towns for about 14 months.
The rift and everything that I'm working on now is moving TOWARD more permanence. So that there can be a permanent civ developing over 4-6 days, or however long you can keep it going.
Your right the correct title should be long lasting
and there never will be a permanent town, city, nation or country, on Planet Earth, or anywhere else in the universe for that matter.
Little by little, more and more, we are going to shred, rip and tear away chunks of this planet and send them out into space.
As the Sun continues to expand, we will lower the mass of this planet and allow it to drift out, further and further, and unless in the next 5 billion years we find a way to engineer stars, the Sun will go Nova after the gravitational force of the heavy elements accumulating at it's core, pull in the outermost layer and send it hurtling in all directions through the solar system. What's left in this proximity will recollect and form a white dwarf.
But chances are we won't let that happen. We, life, and all the species more intelligent than present day humans, will find ways to engineer this star, along with many more, long before it has the chance to fail on us.
ofc not permanent this is a game and by perm I meant long lasting
We've never had permanent towns.
They were always repopulated some where lost but when they lasted they ha dplenty of resources.
After this fiasco Is over will we be able to escape the rift? Because all im concerned about is how my grandchildren or my descendants fair of, not a reset because my niece had seven kids. In real life towns survive much longer but in the rift, towns die because of a lack of iron. And iron does cause a civilization to die if their is non because iron is the foundation for all other branches of society to progress. people wont be able to eat complex food which would limit yum and then would resort to berries. after all the berries are gone the mayhem begins. The hammers were able to survive because of the iron from the outside, and although it did delay your experiment, You just saw the foundation of trade and a society viable in a no iron rift. I hope the planes will be added back to get us out of the rift once your experimentation is done.
Over this update tons of forum users have said their farewell to the game until it gets fixed or they said it perm. His player base has dropped significantly yet he's still adamant on pursuing this update. The success of the Liz and Holly family should tell you something. NO ONE wants to be in a cage!!! only reason people are even going into hammers is because they either want to trigger reset or save the server. Listen to your player base!! Liz town is doing so well and is looking so good while the Hammers have been purged over and over but they still keep coming back.
If your going to do this, iron has to be way more abundant for players to actually escape that place. Or make another option to exit the rift.
