I had some frustrating events too. When I spawned as an Eve and found a good place, my first kid was a new player. but I've found out too late. By then, she already had run away with some rope and a flint-tipped bow drill from my only bow drill. I was pissed. And I needed to take care of her sister, make some bowls, keep the fire from dying and start a farm. I didn't have time to take to her and show her the basics.

I don't want to sound mean but I was happy that she died. I like showing new players how to play and teach them the basics and some tricks. But when you spawn as an Eve, your have other priorities.

Also, I was once born a female to the Hunt Family. I was the last female and I made sure I didn't die and help the others out. I had an amazing uncle and brother who took take of the farm and such. When I started to pop out kids, I fed them while working and told them what we needed.  Explained them the new update, continued to work on the farm and so on. Then the trouble began. Some kids just ran around with baskets and ate, some girls who had kids, just stood around and fed them .... every ..... single ..... kid.  I asked one girl of mine to look for round stone because almost all of our ponds were dry and we had a shovel. She said yes and went of .... without a basket, without a backpack and without any food. I ran after her, gave her my backpack and a pie and told her to take a basket with her so she could carry more. She came back with one stone  ..... no backpack, no pie, no basket, just one fucking stone.

I gave so many children tasks ans jobs, told them to farm until they are older, asked so many times to forge and to look for soil. Some did what I asked them, some just said yes and went of to eat the little food we had left, because my daughters kept every single brat they popped out (even though I told them not to). But things started to get better when some kids actually did what I told them. Someone finally went to search some round stones, someone helped out at the farm, some planted milkweed etc. I thought that everything would be fine.

Well I just spawned back as a male to the family. No one went to look for soil, no one made shovel or hoe when I told them that they broke, few people helped out at the farm when supplies got low and females kept popping out and feeding babies. At the end I was the last one who died ... alone.

I love OHOL. I love to start with nothing and to build something up with my daughters and sons. But PLEASE. Stop having so many children when the food is getting low. It's okay to say to the newborn that we can't feed them. It's okay to let your child for a few seconds alone in a warm spot and help out at the farm.

Hello, just a quick question. Is there any possibility to reuse empty Stew Pot ? Because it is a bit contra-productive to have 10 empty stew pots laying around and to have to craft new ones to make an even bigger mess.

What I like to do when I have other sisters, is to keep at least 1 boy and 2 girls. When I don't see any of my girls or boy running around, I continue to keep one boy and one girl. If they survive, I'm very happy and proud that they managed to live on their own, if they don't, it's fine, my sisters will usually keep the bloodline running.

I was once in a small base that was probably in the 2nd generation, had only berries as food source, no forge, no carrots etc. We, three very fertile females, and my mom were trying to make things work. Problem was, Big Sister kept popping out Babies every minute and kept feeding them. So there were too many children running around and eating too much food. The three kids that I kept after the food crisis only one survived, my amazing boy Benjamin, while my two girls died next to food. In the End, there was only me, Benjamin and Sara, a really hardworking women who took care of the tools, left. All of the children had died, either because of hunger, stupidity or because they went exploring with an empty basket and a tiny belly. It was actually going pretty well after the first tools ....

The thing that I don't understand is how some females keep feeding the newborn even though the population is getting too big for the food available and why they stay by the fire with the newborn not moving at all

Oh I remember him ! When I tried to flirt for the first time with Maria, he was standing behind me yelling "Incest". Good old Jacob. Always knew he made a good father.

I was born to a very advanced city with a huge cemetery. My mother named me Jacob and told me that I could do anything, forge, bake, anything at all ! I sat still on the warm fur of a bar and let my mother nurse me and my sister while looking at the people running around and working. Once I was old enough, I started to look around, to see what was needed, what had to be done but the city had already everything.

While I was wandering around, I saw the most beautiful girl in my life. She had long black hair and a smile that turned my legs into jelly. I was only 8 or 9 years old and already madly in love with this girl. After running around clueless and thinking about Maria, I stumbled upon a beautiful blue rose. Or was it violet ? No, I think it was blue. Gosh it's been so many years ... . Anyway, I took the flower and gathered all of my courage and went to Maria, my heart beating loudly. "Maria.", I said shacking. She turned around and answered with a lovely smile. "Yes ?" "This rose - is for you." I nervously handed her the rose. She looked surprised and then flattered at the rose. "Nawww," she said while smelling at the flower "Thank you!" "It reminded - me of your - beauty." I stuttered and she giggled as response. I was on cloud nine, she loved the rose ! I wanted to make her more presents, a blue sweater and a blue hat with matching shoes, I wanted to plant more rose bushes and make her the happiest girl in this town.

I hoped to ask her one day to marry me. So I made a plan : I would built us a house, next to some wells and plant some rose bushes around it. We could make our own little garden with carrots and berries, just a little one, and have a fireplace to keep us warm. I would go kill many bears just to make the floor out of their furs so our children wouldn't have cold feet. And plant a small sign next to the front door reading "Marias House". We would grow old, while around us our children and grandchildren would run around, and we would hold hands and die next to each other in our little house.

I wanted to build the house first and then, when finished, I would ask her in front of our house with a blue rose in my hands if she would marry me. So I started to gather together the needed tools and materials and started to build. Years passed and while I was going back to the heart of the city to chat a bit with Maria, I stumbled upon some bones drowned in blood. My heart stopped but I could see with relieve that those were not Marias. I ran to the city and warned everyone that a person hat been murdered. I saw Maria running around the Bakery and was happy to see her alive and unharmed. Someone said that it was an accident, so I went back to my project but was still suspicious so I was on my guard.

Time has passed and the house was almost finished, just needed some more walls and floors, so I went back again to grab some stuff to eat and to chat with Maria. When I arrived at the Bakery, someone shouted "BEAR" and three people went off to search for arrows and bows. I searched for Maria to get her to safety, but it was not easy to find her with a bear running around the city. So I tried to look for some arrows in the other houses around the city but didn't have any luck. When I came back, bones were lying around the city. The bear had killed a few of good men and women and was nowhere to be found. I searched everywhere for Maria and even looked at the bones lying on the floor, hoping not to find anything. But she wasn't under those victims, so I assumed that she escaped him and was running around the city. The city was very big so she could have been anywhere, so I went around screaming her name and asking people if they had seen my Maria. No one seemed to have seen her and I thought "Maybe people didn't pay attention or didn't knew who she was."

So I went back to the house, continued building and hoping, that she will come back to me one day. Years passed, people passing by, wondering what I was doing and I would always say "This is House is for Maria, my love." One man, I think it was Eric, asked me if he could help me, but I wanted to do it myself, to tell Maria that I build it alone just for her. Kids and Adults came with their buckets to get some water from the well, but not my Maria. My Maria never came. And then it hit me. My Maria isn't going to come back. My Maria is dead. She will not see this house that I have build for her, she will not be able to hold the rose and hear me proposing to her and she will not be by my side. Sadness filled my heart and almost torn me apart when I realized that I couldn't give her a proper funeral and lay a rose on her grave.

I wanted to end it, I wanted to die. But I was the house that still needed a door, a road that led to the house, some rose bushes and a sign that said "Marias House". I wanted to finish it. I wanted to honor her, the girl I deeply loved. So I continued. I wanted to search for her bones after I made the road so I could bury her in our little home and give her one last rose before I rest my bones next to hers.

Live continued in the city and we had a King, Eric, the man who offered his help. And a murderer seeking to spill his blood. The King managed to kill him I believe but I didn't really pay any attention. I was getting old and just wanted to finish the road. While building, one kid watched and complimented me on the house. I thanked him and said that it was for my Love. He asked me if there was anything to do and if he could help, so I showed him how to make stone roads. He was very interested and learned very fast and soon I had a great assistant. He even got some pies saying "Those are for Maria." I was touched and told him that she would love those pies. Due to my age I forgot what his name was but I am very grateful that he was there and helped.

More and more children came to see what we were doing and even the King came by. He had the knife in his hand and told us, that we needed a school to educate new young souls so the killing rate in our city would decrease. I told him in a weak voice, that he could use Marias House as a starting house. He thanked me and told me that they will honor her. I was very happy and as a last request I asked to plant a lot of blue roses around the house.

I wanted to thank the boy who helped me, the girl who gave me a bucket to use it as a toilet in the new house, the King to remember my first love and I wanted to say so much more but my weak old body didn't let me. I died before thanking everyone I wanted to thank. Before looking at the sky and telling Maria for the first time that I loved her.

Maria, even though we were not meant to have a happy ending together, I still enjoyed the little moment that we had as children. Know that you were always my true love and that I will always love you.

Love, Jacob

I like to make an axe first, because it is a really pain in the ass to keep the fire going with just kindling. With an ax we can have more wood and don't need to run around the whole map to find some shafts and such. And there is rarely a person kind enough to wonder around and gather those branches ^^

A hoe can be made as third, i just like to make it as fast as possible to not use too many milkweed if the stone hoe brakes.

I'm very very lazy so i like to have everything near me sorted and not running around searching stuff, that's why the axe first and then the hoe tongue

Still love the idea of the mark that a murderer gets when he kills someone and keeps it for the next (for example) 3 or 5 hours he gets reborn. An Eve gets a baby that has a birth mark and everyone knows he killed someone in his past lives. But what about those people who killed the killer ? Do they get a mark too for killing ? How about when you kill someone with that mark, you get like a free pass ?

Paradise for griefers IMHO.  They will create slaughterhouses via it. System is too fragile if everything depends on one person.  And you haven't said what dooming or pardoning would do.

Yes I did wink

Dooming a person would give him a black speaking bubble or a black aura. You can also get it by killing someone. To get rid of it the Watcher has to pardon him.

But I know what you mean. Griefers can just go out and doom a person that didn't do anything.

So how about this :

Killing will still trigger a black speaking bubble (or another color) and the person can only get rid of it by getting pardoned by the Watchers. There can be a total of three Watchers and you need to be pardoned by at least two of them. People can still defend themselves with stones and stun the killer (and only killer) for couple of seconds and with ten stones thrown at him, he will lose his killing weapon.

Now for the griefers. What if we could tie up people ? Let us say, there is someone planting wheat when we absolutely need carrots. The three Watchers and come and tie that person up :
         - Watcher 1 : one rope will tie the persons hand (not able to do or touch anything except food in baskets and berries)
         - Watcher 2 : two ropes can tie the persons hand and feed ( will not be able to walk)
         - Watcher 3 : three ropes can tie him up to a fence or tree

If there is a griefer as a Watcher and ties someone up, the two other watcher can set this person free. Once the person is being tied up at the fence or tree, he can be fed to be kept alive or just starve to death. Once the person that is tied up dies, only the watchers are able to pick up the ropes.

Sure those Ideas might have a lot of wholes and unsafe edges but that's why we are here no ? To further discuss and to look for other possibilities ^^

Hey there smile

It's so nice of you that you are willing to help your town out and are searching for answers here. I can tell you only what I have experienced and done so far but they might not all be that helpful as i thought so I would love for people to correct me.

1. Once you are born to a young civilization that is just starting out, you can do some things to help out :
                 - make some baskets
                 - grab a basket and gather some food around like berries, onions and carrots so the people don't have to search for them and continue to do the
                   work they were doing
                 - gather nearby milkweed and milkweedseed
                 - if they have an axe, gather some wood to make lots of kindling and place them either near the fire or the forge

2. When you are born in a town where they are already settled you can as a toddler :
                 - bring some food down to the forge or the nursing station
                 - fill the water pouches or bowls
                 - bring more wood to the fireplaces

Once you are a bit older and have a backpack, you can you out with a basket and go find some iron for the forge and help the person forging by making his job a bit easier like looking for long shafts and such.
When they are low on food and they need help with the farm, you can go out again to gather more food or just lend a hand to the farmers by searching seeds and looking for soil.
You can also go ahead and prepare a pen for the sheep and ask someone to help you getting one.

--> The Bakery :
           - always is in need of water. So what you can do is build a cistern near it and fill it with water, so they don't need to walk so much to get some
           - carrot rabbit pies and mutton pies are for me the best pies. So if they have those, grab them and bring them to the bakery
           - you can put the straw either next to the berries or the farm, depends where the people want to make the compost

--> The Forge :
           - when you are the only one to forge, make sure to make an axe first, then a hoe and then a shovel. You can make other tools next but those three tools are the most
             important ones to make first
           - if someone is already working in the forge, ask them if you can help them and if they agree, bring them food, iron and lend them a hand when the iron is warm

There are a lot of things that have to be done but the most important thing for me is checking that there is enough food for everyone. When there isn't, look if the farm needs more soil or seeds and when there is already someone searching for those, grab a basket and gather some wild berries or cactus fruit to bring them back to the town. There are two kinds of people when the food is getting low : Some panic and wait for their death and some wonder off to search for berries to eat without taking some back to the village.

I hope that this can help you a bit.

Much love,
Tea

Tea

How about this : When you spawn as an Eve, you give yourself a Family name and say the words "I watch over this town". This will trigger a sort of justice system, meaning she can either doom or pardon someone. When someone is griefing or just being an asshole, she can say for example "Tim is doomed" and whenever Tim is talking, his speak bubble will be black with white letters or will have a black aura around him. Same thing with a killer, he will automatically have a black bubble or a black aura.  So other player can be careful around him or just get rid of him.

Now that person, who kills the killer, can be pardoned by her with the words "[Name] is pardoned"

Once the Eve gets older, she can pass that privilege  to someone else with the words "[Name] watch over this town". BUT if this player kills someone, this privilege will disappear and the player who kills him is allowed to say the words "I watch over this town".

Those who are watching over the town are not allowed to kill others, so someone else has to kill the one causing problems and be pardoned by the "Watcher".

Small children could defend themselves by throwing round stones at the killer, making them unable to move for few seconds, so they can run to a Watcher or an adult for help.

I love the new update. Sure, it gets more difficult, you can't make a well alley, a well labyrinth or build one in front of a door (for even better security), the bakers will have to walk a bit further to take the water (but honestly just make two cistern next to it and problem solved) and the farming situation got a bit more difficult.

Yes life got hard, but we got so many cool stuff ! Corn and popcorn (I've made 20 popcorn bowls just because i loved the little animation), we got a ball of threat, people look fabulous with those hats and those cute little worms are not that useless anymore ! They are so cute when they wiggle around in the harden soil. But I have the feeling that after a long time of being jobless, they got a bit slow. They need one hour to finish their work so we can re-use the soil. But one hour is a lifetime (literally) and people are forced to make a bigger farm, so big even, that it will reach another Biome until those cute little slow creatures are finished.

Is there a possibility to motivate those cute basta- ehm worms ? My idea was to bread those who are the fastest and continue with their fastest children and so on until the soil will be finished in 20-15 minutes ? Or should we get them a treat for when they finish faster ?

Like i said, love the new update, those little monsters and how the game is developing. I just hope that our hardworking worms will get just a tiny bit faster.

Much love,

Tea

In the past 5h I've had some really great lives.

Once I was born a girl into quite a big town, that already had a nice farm and a forge with a lot of tools. My mom named me Bailey and while people were fighting about something my little mind didn't understand, I started to clean the forge up a bit and make some tools that were missing. I've had a really good time, the forge was near a desert Biome so I was always warm and I had everything near me. I made a shovel and started to dig up some stones and made a bunch of cut stones. There are two things in this game, that I really enjoy doing : Tending the sheep and building houses.

So I started to make a big house for the forge. In this live I didn't have a lot of children, only two sons stayed with me and got older, while everyone else was popping out at least 2 at the same time. But I was fine with that, just wanted to build in peace. Fionna joined me soon after and we were a great team together! She cut the trees and brought me the butt logs, while I made them into boards and used them for the floor. Time flew by pretty fast and we were getting older and older. The house that we both worked on wasn't finished but the next generation was already starting to take over. I hope they could finish the forge mansion and continued making other beautiful houses. I hope I will see it one day.

Bailey

                          _______________________________________________________________________________________

In another live I was a boy named Mars Sol. It was a nice smaller town. it had a small farm and a little Forge. I helped out a bit on the farm, cleaned up, cut down some trees and helped my mom at the forge. There were at least 3 females working on the farm so I thought 'Hey, lets start to build a bit' and so I did. I prepared everything and was having so much fun when all of a sudden a Bear appeared in the town and killed the last fertile female. It was only me, my brother Jupiter and my mom.

Jupiter took over the farm and started a milkweed farm while my mom continued making tools with the little time she had left and I started building walls. When mom died, it was only me and my brother left and we just continued until it was our turn to return to rest our bones.

                          ________________________________________________________________________________________

I never really started from 0 as an Eve. Normally I find an abandon forge or farm and I continue from there, if the location is nice. But this time, there was nothing near and I had an infant in my arms so I didn't wanted to wander around and waste precious time. So I settle down in a moderate place, gave myself the name Reinhardt and my first born Sparrow. Unfortunately Sparrow might have been a new player, died and I was alone.

It was quite hard to start from scratch, searching milkweed and reed, while looking after my child and trying not to die. But things started to become better once Frida (Friday) became older and helped me out. She was such a great help and eventually we had a decent farm and a small milkweed farm going. I had two wonderful daughters who helped to so much and beautiful grandchildren. Even though it is hard, and you have to make a lot of sacrifices, it still is so much fun to start with nothing and so rewarding to see a nice settlement with children and grandchildren running around at the end of your life.

I came back as a boy and it really filled my heart with joy to see that this family was still going. Even though they might be dead because of food shortage, I am still proud of the Reinhardt family! You all did a really good job.

(my mother tongue is not English, so i could have made some mistakes)

I was born into a big village counting only my mother as a citizen and a lot of corpses. She told me she was the last one of her family line and if I already gathered experiences in my past life. You could tell that she already had lived a difficult life before my birth the way she spoke. She was very forward and direct, said only the necessary things but very concerned about my well-being and had always an eye on me.

Since I was born a female, she told me to be very careful and to survive, to keep the family name going. I told her I will. Soon after a sister was born and she was also told to be very careful and not to die.

As soon as I was old enough to hold a carrot, I started working on the farm and making a fire. When my sister was old enough, mother came to me and told me again to stay alive and healthy, said her goodbyes and head of into the woods, never to be seen again. I think she had had a tough life and wanted to see something new before joining our ancestors.

We were low on baskets so my sister went searching for some while i stayed home and started on crafting some tools since we had enough carrots laying around. That's when I gave birth to my twins, Damon and Dhalia. I told them what my mother told me; to stay alive and to be careful. Dhalia was a sweetheart, very eager to help me once she was old enough, while Damon was a very quiet boy.

It was very stressful to keep the fire running, while working on an hammer and an ax and feeding the twins (we had only one forge at that time so it took longer than usual). Once the twins were old enough, they started to do their own things and I kept crafting those tools.

During that time, I saw how Damon started to make a bow. First I didn't thought of it much but then I noticed something. Once he made a bow and an arrow, he kept staying there, always checking if his little arms were strong enough to pick up the heavy bow. Looking back, I should have taken the arrow or the bow away from him. Or even kill him. I had a strange feeling telling me to stop him. Probably it was my mother trying to warn me from the afterlife but i didn't listen.

I was almost done with the ax, that's when my third child was born. And that was also that time when Damon was strong enough to hold the bow in his hands. He took bow and arrow and came to me, always saying "mom" "mom" "mom". I had my third child in my arms, who didn't even had a name yet, and tried to keep in motion because my guts told me to keep running or else he will kill me. He will kill his own mother. But I didn't wanted to overreact, maybe he wanted to hunt some goose or wolf, who knows.

But I made a mistake. I should have taken the bow and kill him when I had the chance because as soon as I stopped to eat a carrot and name my newborn child, that's when he shot me. I can still hear his hateful voice yelling "die" "die" "die" while I tried to get my daughter to safety. I had given birth to a monster and could not keep my promise to my mother, to stay alive and safe. Sadly, I died before I could grab my daughter and give her a name.

I hope the Gods of Karma will punish Damon for his actions and that no other mother as to feel the kind of emotions I went trough, the feeling of betrayal, heartache and anger at the same time. Being killed by my own offspring, who I cared for and loved deeply is not a nice way to end this life.
