Light up the furnace and see people reaching APM records trying to bake previously forever untouched pies.
Repeat every 5 minutes.
Carrot pies are rather inefficient. There are better yum food (like every other pie type) in the game.
(Almost) no yummer plants potatoes! No one cares about potatoes!
They are just a convenient strawman to go against yumming.
Hats!
Smith hat
Farmer hat (straw hat)
Cook hat (toque blanche)
Doctor hat
Delivery hat (toque?)
Police hat
Shepard hat
Police hat
Cowboy hat
Funny how whenever someone mentions yumming, potatoes are immediately mentioned.
Strawman anyone?
Guys, the problem isn't that there is an area ban of 1h30 gametime. It is completely possible to have a comprehensive area ban forcing players to live different lives in different towns but still retain sustainability in population.
Fertility/birth needs a rework in the way it distributes players around. Leaving like it is right now will just result in more rampant concentrated births followed by death by no births.
My guess it's probably a mix between multiple features:
1) Fertility is heavily based on temperature (clothing) and yum (food variety);
2) Area ban;
3) No distribution of births.
When a town becomes big enough, the above points will compound each other. The town will have lots of good food (more average yum) and more clothing (better temperature). This will cause the birth distribution to lean heavily towards that town. This will cause a cascade effect for a while, which by itself isn't terrible.
But what happens when you don't distribute births between areas and then add an area ban? An inevitable disaster every time.
As the town experiences an explosion of population, even if it is able to do it sustainably, a large portion of the population (ie, people who play more than one life each gaming session) will be area banned from that town. This will result in two serious problems:
a) A sharp population decline caused by a very reduced birth rate;
b) Very low ratio of experienced players since most of the "repeat players" will statistically already been born in that town and are now out of the pool of possible births.
I believe that unless we find a way to enforce a sort of distribution of players, or decrease yum/temperature weight on birth allocation, this issue will continue no matter how many players are currently playing.
That's awesome!
I believe area ban (radius?) went from 2000 to 200
There is a client-side bug which causes issues on horse carts, baskets on reeds and graves.
Luckily wonlife (http://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=4402) has a fix for it so it's easy enough to close game and start wonlife quickly (you will get back to your character) and deal with any griefing.
What I would get depends on what we are missing back in home town. But I would gravitate towards milkweed-based items such as ropes and buckets.
You now get the seed from right clicking on the squash I believe. I got 3 seeds from doing that, one click per seed.

I get countless of those.
We might be unintentionally DDoSing the site/servers.
Whatever you might need to add some sort of time delay between requests. I don't think the server is being able to keep up with all the files being downloaded or there is some sort of throttle.
It would also be awesome if we could filter to get only data from bigserver2 instead of all the servers (less requests).
Value changes are quite significant. Are they right?

* Fully clothed.
* +11 bonus pips
* 6 "normal" food pips after bite.
* Managed to get to a snow biome within 5 seconds.
Result:
* 11 pips consumed.
I would have been 100% dead without that yum bonus. And while I like yumming giving advantages this seems a bit too deadly.
fragilityh14, any chance you can make a guide/text explaining on how you usually play the game?
3.33 grandkids per female life is beyond impressive and in my view it makes you the best player here so far.
I love making tacos and I find them good in order to diversify food source (corn + beans/porn) instead of pies (wheat + pork/rabbit). Unfortunately it is often the case I find something else needing urgent tending and end up not being able to cook them as you need to cook tacos in batches.
Last week I tried to split foods into different categories based on profession and food source to see what a good diversification would be.
I came up with this:
futurebird and fragilityh14 are absolute gods!

Hey Jason,
Is the 8x8 room limit including the walls? Only had to include one side? How does 7x7 factor in the 8x8 "airspace".
