That's why we went with century because a) we are not the best in English and b) we didn't know what else to use ^^ Also since the Arcs are not passing the 1000 years, what do you use then ?

Ladies and Gentlemen, People of OHOL, Young and Elders, another Arc  has found its end, lasting for 860 years.

Countless Eves have set out to find the perfect place to plant the first berry bush for a brighter future. But not all of them could raise a strong enough family to survive the harsh conditions of this world. Those who did, still had to face and survive different threats such as famines, infertility and droughts.

In the early stages of the Arc, the Torres clan was the strongest one, counting up to 9 females. Even though they took over the town of the Banas, they still payed respect to the grave of that clan’s Eve. image

Some of their clan members were living in peace with the Heart family who later on made peace with the last surviving Nice family. The two families, Torres and Heart, lived at the north-eastern Rift and some of their ancestors had started the construction of a great stone wall. image

Disney, Royal, Bana and Nice, the years went by and those names were merely a faint memory of the past. Until there was only the Aaberg Family and the Torres Family left.

Torres started off with a healthy amount of females while Aaberg would count less than a handful of fertile females in their families. But these numbers would take an intense turn when after a civil war the Torres had only one female left, while Aaberg had at least 23. The efforts of the Torres Brothers to keep their sister and her offspring alive was in vain. The damages to their town was too severe and the drought problem eventually let to a famine that caused the end of this line. image

The Aabergs were the last family that would hear the sound of the well-known bell, announcing the end of another Arc. Another powerful family who would see the end of an old Arc Century and the start of a new one.

We write the Year 176 Arc 6 and another countless Eve have already started their new home. Will we see the end of this Arc soon enough ? Or will these new-formed clans be tougher and will brave all the challenges.

Happy Eveing everyone !

May I still post the reports of the ended Arc here?

Ladies and Gentlemen, People of OHOL, Young and Elders, another Arc  has found its end, lasting for 924 years. Another short century. Before we’ve seen nurseries and kitchen being build, trees planted for decoration, roads, and bell towers planned. Some were foolish enough to spend their life building stone walls around their towns. But not anymore.

We’ve seen families settled in all sorts of places, fencing themselves in for protection against a murderous Eve known by the people of OHOL as Eve Kill. The last member of the Hamelins, who successfully survived two Arcs in a row, perished away, leaving room for another strong family. There were few promising ones; Gomez, Lola, Sparrow, Halcom, Carrow, Banas, Betson and Radish. Some families died out due to infertility, poor town management or even through the hands of other clans, while new ones were created.

Towards the end of the Arc, however, there were merely a handful of households left: Gomez, Lola, Carrow, Hammer and Kelderman. Each of the clans had their very unique village and stories to tell and we managed to capture some pictures of their towns. But not everyone had the time to start constructing impressive roads, buildings or gardens since their survival was constantly threatened by incoming famines or attacks of the other clans. The Lola Family had to defend themselves against Triplets on Horses, the Keldermans were slaughtered by either their own kind or members of the Gomez family, the Hammers died out due to lack of females and the line of the Gomez was ended by the hands of a Lola.

Two families were now left: Carrow and Lola, racing against each other to survive long enough to see the end of the Arc. But civil war broke out in the town of the Lolas, leading to a massacre and the death of the family name.

A skilled Carrow Smith was working with his nephews and nieces at the forge, trying to get the engine filled with kerosene and getting the water pump going. The moment he had the tank of kerosene in his hands, smiling with his family members next to him, a distant bell rang, announcing the end of another Arc.

Congratulations Carrow Family for making it to the end of this century! You battled all odds and managed to come out as the strongest family of this Arc. Who will be the next victories clan? Will we ever be able to build huge cities again, with nurseries, schools, kitchen and gardens? Or will this be a constant challenge for each family to end the next Arc faster than the one before?
We shall see what the following years will bring us. We write the year 341, Arc 5, and the Eve Window is still open. We wish all the families the best of luck and happy Eveing everyone!

I'm sorry that I have to make another post about it but I didn't feel like posting it under all this serious stuff at the "Arc Report" Post ^^

OHOL has a little group that focuses on writing about the big and small events in the game. If you are interested in reading those articles, then visit this link : The Arc Century News. We will post our past articles there pretty soon and more are coming, so stay tuned.

Ladies and Gentlemen, People of OHOL, Young and Elders, another Arc has ended, this time lasting only 817 years! What was the cause of this short Arc Period?

It seemed as if the remaining Hamelin members, who survived the Apocalypse, gathered all their strengths and willpower to become yet again the strongest family of this Arc. No other family could keep up with their speed and so were crushed by their infinite power.

Unfortunately, no pictures could have been taken of this Arc, since our departure couldn't finish a new camera in time before the apocalypse happened, announcing the end of another century.

The Hamelin Clan has now become the winner of two Arc Centuries and is known as the strongest family! Can someone challenge them and push them off their new throne? Will this Arc  last longer or will we see the end sooner than expected? We wish everyone good luck!

We have a website on Github, were we store all our past and future articles for people to read (Thanks to PXshadow!). There are some pictures as well, so we will always have a little memory of all those towns that were build. We will post every article that we write on Github to the main OHOL discord channel, so people can go there and read it.

The Arc Century News (ACN) That's the site where we will store all of our articles. It still needs some cleaning up and we still have to post all of our past articles ^^ I'll let you know when it's up to date. (And yes, the new over-the-rift-throwing griefing will be documented there as well)

Ladies and Gentlemen, People of OHOL, Young and Elders. Another Arc  has ended, lasting roughly 1800 years. What an exciting century! We’ve seen families come and go, towns thrive and forgotten. Even a cult clan, known as the Puig Family, worshipping a murderous individual going by the name of Ziv, was being formed in the early years of the Arc. It seemed as they were living in peace with the Keldermans and Hammers together until one of the Puig Woman doomed the Hammers Line and was brought to justice by the knife of a Kelderman. The Ziv Cult ended shortly after, at Generation 9.

Many households found an early end but the two strongest family lines were those of the Morse and Hamelin.
Luck was not smiling upon the Hamelin Family though. They had to face a serious and never before seen case of Griefing, the outrageous act of throwing tools, iron and even PIES over the Rift, never to be retreated again. After the person causing these criminal acts was dealt with, citizens of Hamelin could breathe again, hoping to live a peaceful life at the edge of the north-eastern rift. And that was the last time that they were ever seen again in this town. Years later, people of the Morse household had taken over their city. Rumors were going around that they had slaughtered the Hamelins and that only a few surviving members of that family fled towards the western rift.

The Morse were a peaceful, quiet and hardworking town. They had a well-organized city, with plenty of yum food available. They had a healthy number of females and strong men working in the fields and in the smith to keep the town going. It seemed as they were going to be the family that would be able to see the end of the Arc. But their luck ran out, some say because of the Hamelin Massacre, and towards the end of the Arc, they only counted two fertile females. While the Hamelin were thriving in their new town, near the western rift, counting at least 23 females.

And in the end, it was the Hamelins that successfully survived the harsh conditions of this world and lived until the end of the Arc Century! Another Arc has started and the Eve Window is now open again. Which family will rise and dominate this Arc?
Happy Eveing Everyone !

Ladies and Gentlemen, People of OHOL, Young and Elders. Another Arc has ended, lasting roughly 1700 years. What a Century! In the beginning, the Keldermans started off as the strongest family, counting almost 12 females. But, according to some recourses, the lack of fertility in a generation caused the downfall of that family. The last remaining Keldermans opened their gates to the Morsell family, who quickly settled in. After the disappearance of Keldermans, a family called Nim grew stronger and stronger. But at the last moment of the Eve Window, Eve Hammer managed to slip in and organize a strong and growing family. For some years, the Hammers dominated the Arc. Some rumors say that slavery was being introduced in that family, which could be the cause of the abruptly ending of the Hammers in Generation 36. Morsell and Nim were now the only surviving families, racing each other to be the last surviving dynasty. During that time, we have seen Kings and Queens come and go but peace always remained between those clans. It seems like this Arc could have lasted for a while. Gardens were built, constructions of belltowers were started and a bird was singing. Unfortunately, a civil war in the Morsell family broke out at Generation 57 and was the cause of its downfall, leaving the Nim family as the last survivor at Generation 76 ! It was indeed a very eventful Arc! Which Family will become the dominant one in this next dynasty and will lay the first berry farm for a greater future? It has been a great century and we wish you all the best of luck. Your reporters @Tea  and  @Emma

I once had so much fun playing. Once. I never cared about the griefers until the Grand Arc Update. I played four live in the same area and couldn't enjoy them because of the lack of recourses. Iron, Oil, and Juniper trees. Someone ran around with an ax and cut down all the juniper trees, making fire a difficult task. Then you have a lack of iron. If you find some in a village that hasn't been looted yet, the doors are blocked with Newcomen Engine Towers. Some oil sources are surrounded and blocked by an unstable belltower base. It's just a matter of time until the next family will perish. And then an Eve will spawn into this looted and destroyed area ...

Why do people enjoy destroying the fun of others?

When I started playing this game, people actually tried working together, getting higher on the techtree. But now, more and more people try to prevent others from getting the needed recourses, trying to establish a relationship with the other family and having a different and peaceful life. The game is taking a different turn, it's not the game I once bought and enjoyed so much. I will still be around, playing on the empty servers and building some little towns. But I won't be playing with others anymore. It's just not fun.

There are so many things that I wish to see in this game, like fathers (yes, I still have hope. Thought that a marriage could be between two families), poop buckets, tamed horses that are actually tamed and not run away, Horses with tired carts, automatic farming, more usage for eggs (cakes), tomatoes, chili and onions. Different materials to build houses, not only stone walls (bricks ?). The updates that we had were not bad (except the Rift one) but I have the feeling that those are not the updates that the game needs or the players really want.

It just makes me sad to see what this game had become.

Oh I think I've met you ! Was it a women who brought you to the other town ? I saw one of my cousins coming to the fire and introducing us to a stranger, an old woman with curly brown hair. "I brought a guest", she said.

I could hardly understand you but it was sweet seeing all the people gathered near the fire to listen to you.

Told my children their dad was killed by a bear and a wolf and so I had to avenge him by killing every dangerous creature. Had a nice little story, what his name was, how we met, how he died etc. Asked them to build a hunters hut or to join me in my task. Ironically, I was killed later by a bear I shot. ^^

That reminds me.

When the geese were introduced into this game, I spend a life just goofing around with them. I've put them into a box and closed it, putting them "to bed" and showed one goose to my mother, uncles and aunts.

When I found a goose without a head, I was shocked and asked people what was wrong with mister goose. "He's sick! He has the flu. We need to heal him." I told them.

My uncle came to me, looked at me and then the goose and said "Give him to me, I will cure him." I happily gave him mister goose. He came back, with a plucked goose!

"Oh no ! That's not good, Mr Goose will get cold. He already has the flu!" I cried. People around me were giggling and laughing. We all had a good laugh.

I love little moments like these :

I was born to an Eve and was named Jinx Kim. Me and my oldest sister, Mimi Kim, did our best to help out our mom. Sadly, Mimi wasn't having any luck with bearing kids. Her firstborn ran off, never to be seen again, and she was running out of time. She felt bad for not giving birth to a girl.

I tried to cheer her up, by showing her my balding head and the wild carrot magic trick. It made her a bit laugh but still, no girl. I wasn't going to blame her, she really tried her best. Having kids at this late hour was a difficult task and there was no guaranty that she would give birth to a girl.

So, being a bit silly and trying to lighten up the mood, I told her I would dance around her, doing a "fertility dance". Than I told her and my mom to pray to the fertility god, Jeff. Mom even joined me in my silly dance around my sister.

Now here comes my favorite part. 5 seconds of us doing our fertility dance, my sister birthed a little girl! I was sitting next to my (IRL) sister who got startled when I screamed "IT WORKED ?! IT FUCKING WORKED !!".

That will probably be my favorite memory of OHOL.

(Thanks Hopelynn Kim for not /die on us ♥)

Baby Boys are never worthless ! Not being able to give birth isn't a reason that they are useless. I've seen mothers popping out kids and not giving a crap about them, so males have to step in and feed the poor thing.

Or males taking over farming and kitchen duty in order to keep the family alive because the females are all gathered around the fire, eating and chit chatting, while feeding Every. Kid. Every. Second.

I prefer a productive boy than a berry munching girl. Males are the silent heroes in every family in this game.

I see them disappear as well but also unusable some times. You can't add any stones to it and for some people there isn't even a spring there, where you see it.

I've seen at least two of those parks and they are very beautiful ! Gives the town a little bit of a character.

I've tried to make a family graveyard surrounded by Maple trees and fences but it never lasts. People chop down the trees all the time, either because they like destroying stuff or they needed firewood and are too lazy to go find some outside of town.

Well then the idea from the other user would be great in such situations. You could start a new family with another player with another surname. Start an Eve life with your partner, away from the big town.

But then again, resources like iron would become a problem.

I was born to an Eve running around aimlessly. She was just passing by a small base and didn't stop to pick me up. Either she didn't notice or she didn't care but I would have been dead if it wasn't for Martin Warrior who rushed over to me and fed me a berry.

We didn't have any relation but he cared for me, more than my own mother did. He had brown skin, I had dark skin. He spoke one language, I spoke another, which made communication a bit hard. But with time, we understood each other. He told me that he was all alone, that there were once more people running around but they all left or died.

He named me Jaimie Warrior and I called him Dad. We kept each other company, worked on making the biggest farm ever and chit chatted. Well we tried. Some words were still incomprehensible for me. He was the best father one could ever dream of.

When Dad passed away, I was all alone but promised him to be brave and strong. I continued farming, went exploring and helped another family get a sheep in their pen.

I buried him under a maple tree and died next to his grave. Even if Fatherhood isn't a thing (yet), I will always remember you as my Dad.

Poop in buckets. No more running around with shovel. Just poop in a bucket, then adding some of it to compost.

To the lovely Lady that made one hour very special to me.

You came up to me and demanded to help you birth more children. I agreed, slightly amused. Your beautiful red curly hair, the way you misspelled words and the determination in your eyes took my breath away. You were not wearing anything, so I offered you my wolf hat and rabbit coat. Shortly after, our first son was born and you were very surprised how quickly that went. Sadly, we lost him too soon and you sat down near the fire, seeming a bit sad. So I offered you my pants to keep you nice and warm and promised that you wouldn't wait too long for another child.

I was right. I still remember your surprised face and your laugh when Ashley was born. Everyone was surrounding us, your family and mine, listening to our conversation.

I would have probably taken years to propose to you if it wasn't for my sister! I was too shy but when she asked me in front of you if I intended to marry you, I just had to pop the big question. And you said yes!

Everyone was excited. You went to tell your mom that you would marry a man from the Love family and she got very happy. When she found our town years ago, she was hoping to raise her family next to ours, in peace. My people were frightened to live with a stranger together who they didn't even understand. But they accepted her, taught her and her children our language and learned hers. I don't think that she would have ever imagined being part of a wedding between our two families.

My sister wed us and I gave you a rose, a symbol of my promise to you. To keep you and our children safe and warm.

We had a truly enjoyable time together. You started to work in the kitchen, baking pies, while I worked outside, making compost and cleaning up. I showed you how to make a note so you could leave one on your mothers grave. Do you remember when we spend hours figuring out what the word "knife" meant in your language?

We said our goodbyes to each other, said how much we loved each other and I made you one last promise before you passed away. I kept my promise and gave you a proper grave, adding a little note on it.

Merely minutes before it was my time to fade away, a little red-headed naked girl approached me. It was you. You came back to me! And just like we first met, I gave you all my clothes to keep you warm.

I truly enjoyed that life. Until we meet again ♥
