I just hope we can still play without Steam even after Steam release? I'm not going to that... "platform"... even if people would pay me to.
pein wrote:just because he is gey, shouldnt be banned
just like you faggot
And then when we just gave him benefit of the doubt... Case closed. So is this thread.
Aslo, Pein, please, chill out. Don't go in Superfuns steps.
Speaking here personally for myself, not for the reast of the team - Superfun has yet to cross the line. Official warning has already been issued though and I believe thats why current messages are less frequent and more tame. On the other hand - I won't personally put my hand to silencing someone just because he's annoying and people don't like him - because in that case we'd have to "get rid" of at least 20-30 people already, from both sides of the baricade (including me myself).
Thats exactly the type of "DRAMA" Jason loves.
Do you work now or do you raise your kid? Or maybe you teach your kid to follow you? Or maybe you move kid around? Or just stick to jobs that can be done in one place?
IMO thats not a problem that needs new feature but problem that payers have to solve on their own.
"Z" oryginated on server 11 to recognize players from there

Well, it was a different bug (that the character plays the eating animation when placing food in the backpack as you can see in the gif), I should post it again or can you get it back from trash? Thanks.
Woops, my bad then. Although image used was the same and caption was really similar so you can use single thread for this as related to the same "problem" technically speaking.
The point of the game is to build a legacy, you cant by playing single player.
The core features of the game are taken away from you in donkey town.
If you really play to build a legacy and you manage to end up in Donkey Town anyway - there is something really wrong with the way you try to build that legacy. Basically - people don't like you. Its up to you to figure out why. Maybe next time you get cursed, ask why?
I will claim ownership of a place I founded, but not demand items just for being eve.
I don't see anywhere in post's I wrote about me claiming ownership of the town.
Maybe me calling it "My camp" to refer to its location and my lineage. The is a false claim made by two users that disagree with me.
Still, thats besides the point for me. As long as you stay civil you can clear those matters betwen youself - just don't stray to vulgarly name calling people again.
As far as I remember "F" got picked up right away by different people at the same time when game was released. People tried to type F_O_O_D, FO_OD or F_E_E_D, FE_ED depending on ammount of letters they had. Some of them tried spelling "HELP" or "MOTHER" but "F" came to mind to the most, especially looking at "Food meter". Thus, when people noticed first letter being "F" they started to assume Food/Feed and it spread far and wide.
This thread have been split from this story
And thats exactly why there are no nicknames in-game and we try to play anonymously as much a possible. There is no ownership Pharao. You don't own anything even if you started it few hours back. Stop it... And also...
I am Pharao, please stop all those personal attacks on other players. You have derailed the oryginal thread to the point where it had to be split just for the sake of oryginal stroy. Those violate our community rules. Be nice and respectfull. If you can't do that and decide you won't chill out and handle that yourself we will have to step in and handle it for you. Your post have been redacted.
You have been warned.
Any more of that from any of you - thread get closed and you get punished. I'm leaving it open for conversation just so you can admit your mistakes, chill out, shake hands and get along in a civil manner.
P.S. You can change the name of the thread when you get the point Pharao.
Youtube would start striking youtubers who have anything that would break THEIR Terms of Service.
YouTube is waaay different story as its oversensitive to many things. Try recording wholesome 60 minute video and say just once that you "killed" those cows or that creeper "blew up someone". Say bye bye to adds revenue. Its not without reasons most YouTubers (especially political ones or "let's players") have whole books of forbidden words and their replacements like "destroying animals" or "processing animals".
Also, botting doesn't break the ToS for free domain servers... but it definitely does for multiplayer games, where macroing or botting is considered cheating. OHOL is in exception with this one, though after this patch from Rohrer I see that these cases are still being little compromised, no matter how much you consider there is no issue with bots and macroers...
As much as I value your input, are you sure you know what you're talking about? Whats "free domain server"? Did you mean "public doman"? And what does it have to do with server?
Botting is not against ToS although some actions performed by bots might be considered intrusive and gamebreaking. Just like single person without bot being able to kill whole town without consequences was (before curse, staggering, murder graves, etc).
The point about bots though, is - its almost impossible to keep bots at bay when game source code is publicly available and even then, Jason would have to waste time on bots instead of content itself. Some things are beyond of human capabilities of one-man-army developement "team".
Is it just this character model or others as well?
Seeing how you show the problem on example of ginger lady I can't help to think its because its the newest model. It might use hitbox of older character or simply "something" (like backpack) is unintentionally covering model itself even though its looks like its "behind".
I've also removed the second thread. Why two of them though? And its not like you double posted by accident because there were like 20 minutes in between of them...
You should be able to remove your own tread as long as there are no responses yet. If thats not true I'll look into that and report it back to Jason.
Also, if you game closes without reason AND you "magically" double post writing about that - I have my suspicions that there might be something wrong with your system or one of apps runing in the background. Way to much coincidence IMO for both of those to happen at once. Personally I would reboot my PC and scan it against viruses as the first step. Won't hurt even if thats not the case.
There are naked breasts and penises. Not really PG. I guess that's the point.
Naked human body IS actually PG. Sexualized naked human body is not PG. Thats quite a difference people stopped to noticed some time ago which saddens me. Also, as pointed out - you can cover it up with mod if you're oh-so-fragile.
Thx to TheCaledonianKnight for pointing out broken tutorial link. Fixed now, sorry 'bout that!
Isn't this considered cheating? I mean the person that has this mod installed can see better the structure of a village or he/she can plan better how to kill people. Is it fair?
That point has been raised in the past. While some players still consider it cheating, its not against any of game rules as you still can't excede the view distance of what server sends you (and you can't change that client-side).
On the other hand even if Jason (game dev) decided it's against rules - there is no way for server to detect your client-side view distand and as game is open source you would be able to remove any client-side detection right in the code and compile client without it.
2: If she had to make a bot for school, lets be honest. . . she is not showing this game to her teacher
Why would you denounce OHOL in such an ugly way? Are you saying that we should be ashamed to play OHOL and it might be embarrassing to show it to someone else?
OHOL is a perfect game to experiemtn with bots. Its open source, protocol is well documented and really easy, its 2d tile based which eliminates many problems or simplifies them, its not against ToS to create a bot and gameplay is based on simple action-reaction interactions without enviromental conditions and multiblock structures.
Alt least thats what Jason told us. But he might have screwed up somehow and some of them may still work. Anyone remember disabling Apocalypse after which someone triggered Apocalypse?
Joriom, what is the current status of Santan anyway?
Do you still use it?
Did you put a RNN or similar in it?
Does it do anything more than eat berries?
Santan is still being used after each next code iteration passes to the point where it can be compiled without any problems.
No RNN, just a stump of basic neural network is used currently.
It **can** live up to old age under some circumstances.
And there is soft cure for them auto clicker uber bots running around
when you notice one very suicidal baby popping around you all the time running the same direction every time.
Run beside it name it something easy. Curse it after. Get someone else to curse it.
You will not be able to name it because it will keep poping out of your hands trying to move again. I had exactly the same problem with Santan bot and had to put kind of a "cooldown" on movement actions just so mothers can pick me up.
Define "good" then SomeRandomPerson, because our definitions greatly differ. In my eyes griefer can still be a "good" player. I rate people based on their skill not morality. Because one is worth something and can get you fed while the other can not.
I might bite the bullet and install virtualbox, the client changes I want to make are stacking up.
If you're going to target Windows - you might be interested in my tutorial which includes some scripts that might help you out. I'm using the same github repo for corsscompilation tools as well as zoomed out mod (and even though its not part of tutorial itself, there is video of how I apply zoomed out mod there).

Is there any chance this can be brought to MacOS?
I've just got some insight from Jason how he builds his MacOS version so I'm full of hopes for that.
Yeah, Japanese kids are crazy about their accesories. Doesn't surprise me so much there already are OHOL ones when mobile version became somewhat popular in Japan.
If you want a refund because you feel like you have resticted access to the game features or if you call Donkey Town an actual "ban", you might be interested in my latest post cracking down your actual rights to the product your bought and what it really is that you bought - because there are a lot of people who missunderstand what they purchased and under what terms.
So does Jason have the right to set and enforce rules in his own server (not taking into account how feasible this may or may not be, or whether or not he would want to)? Or do people have the right to do what they want with/on his servers regardless of his preferences? In the example you used with the mobile game they hosted their own servers, so they didn't do anything with Jason's.
Thats actually a very hard topic but only due to Jasons approach to legal stuff. You are not clearly notified about what it is that you purchase. The only information I could ever find on that topic were on the "buy now" screen right before the payment. ( https://sites.fastspring.com/jasonrohre … ouronelife ) You're promissed the following:
You will be given immediate access to all of the following DRM-free downloads (Win/Mac/Linux/Source code)
Includes a lifetime account on the main game server and access to all future updates.
There is no EULA not TOS clearly provided to the user. Content is DRM free.
Taking a close look at those bare bones terms:
Jason is not allowed to remove your account on the main server.
Jason is not allowed to deny you any future update.
What does it mean really though? Not much. Your account can not be removed but technically, it could be restricted. That point talks about "account" not "accouint access". Lets say court decides it was meant as access - there is next problem. It does speak about main game server. Term "main game server" is not strongly defined and is singular. Does it refer to server1.onehouronelife.com or does it refer only to the ticket server that distributes players between servers? Worst case scenario - server1 becomes "banished" land and all other player traffic is router to servers 2, 3, and so on.
What does it mean for in-game management like Donkey Town? You're only promissed lifetime account, not access to all features using that account. Jason is technically free to add, remove and modify any feature or restrict access to them.
This is really vague but there is huge advantage in favour of Jasons freedoms.
Again, I'm just curious and am trying to get a better understanding. It seems he does have some say, as he limited your bot to one server at a time. Or is that simply because you payed to have access to one server at a time? I'm unsure.
This is a gray area where its all about what Jason agrees on without any earlier arrangements. Technically we're only entitled to owning an account OR using it on single, main server (even if using it means having access only to limited number of features). Nothing more, nothing less. I tried to take more than was willingly given to me thus my access was restricted (but my account was not removed and I still had access to downloads, etc).
