But people in real life who are "spawned" in a given biome can't just suicide to get another roll of the dice...

Why would any Eve settle in a less-than-ideal area?

There will always be min/maxes. Personally I think many people, myself included, want to add to the town if born in one. I would LOVE to contribute to a town that's in snow, or desert, etc. I could always become a nomad if I didn't care for the area I was born into.

Dont Eves already suicide if they dont find a nice spot for a town? Currently if I find a nice spot but there's no water I should just die. No iron close by? Die. No rabbits? So much for clothes.

There will be a 'best' biome, but if every biome has SOME kind of access to food/clothes/tools/baskets/building material, I'd like to give it a try even if it's harder. Plus if each biome had exclusive items, trade could actually occur. Right now you need access to every biome, and every town is essentially the same. Why bother trading?

Yes, it would be multiplying tech trees. But only for the early stages. Eventually they'll merge together and biomes wont matter as much.

Shut up Cum, You use the forums too D;

But seriously she ran off when I was born and Said it when I F'd, It wasn't because I said Q.

I was just trying to convey that I knew how to survive and that I would contribute. I'm more annoyed at the ridiculously long lineage  ban then anything else.

Banished to the Eves because of things beyond my control.

The forums do seem to consist of six people complaining about griefers and sheep pen contents lol

I'm almost not playing.  Yesterday it was 1 minute game.  I got born to griefer.  She fed me twice.  Then pulled a knife and stabbed somebody else.  Then let me die.  I got insta-banned from West city for 3 hours for choosing my parents poorly.  I wanted to see pein's new pen, but that was not possible.  I stopped playing, because with hiigh probability, I'd have the same griefer in next game.

The day before, one longer game.  Rescued West city during famine and griefer visit (non-violent one - just messing with food production), became a king for generation, passed down crown and knife well - they lasted at least 10 more gens.  Also stopped playing, because - griefer.

Not that I want less players for this great game, but you seem really jaded about the whole experience. I play maybe 4 or 5 hours a week but have a blast griefers included.

Maybe a break or playing less would do you some good and provide a more enjoyable experience.

Today like 5-6 games with griefers in them.  3 with murder spreee, 1 with someone stealing milkweed, buckets and shovels, 1 with asshole putting rabbit bones all over 2nd gen camp.  Can't play in town, can't play in Eve camps, nowhere to go... So you achived victory - one less player.

You're always on here complaining, maybe it's for the best.

I just spent a lifetime selling flowers. One pie per flower. When someone stole a basket I let the town know know he was a greider and someone murdered him for me. Was amazing.

Fresh flowers!

Hello my darling Nebula! Its Mom. You know my life mostly, but before you were born it was intense!! My mother fled into the woods with me warning of a murderer. She gave me clothes and a backpack with a pie in it.

I asked how old the murderer was to guess how long I had to be a Bush baby. I wandered in the wild trying to make a bow just in case. I stopped back into town and sure enough witnessed a murder, I stole an arrow and ran. After trying to make a bow, with no luck I stopped back into town. Two dudes were there and were friendly. We kept an eye on the only female there. Then I had you! And the rest is history smile Thanks for burying me next to the well. Forgot what I named it lol.

Some people take games WAY too seriously. Multiplayer games are NOT for you if you enjoy controlling every aspect of a game. Single player games allow this control to occur, so keep that in mind.

#34 Re: Main Forum » Having some trouble with farmed food design » 2018-06-06 04:30:53

I personally like the berry situation. It's a bit op but the new players can chill in the berry fields while they learn. More experienced players will work on other food sources. I won't disagree they are a bit op, but really nice when I can explain  bare bones basics to to players.

Just finished a game where I helped the bakers get what while the newbs tended bushes, it was nice.

I'm sure he has more to come but you can plop soil down closer at least. Each node has eight(?) Soil now too and I found it everywhere. Domestic berries a bit better at the moment with water buff?

Two adults at the start may sound too powerful, but I dont think so. Food will be scarce quickly, and they still have to roam to find good land. Hell, you could start a nomadic family easier as well, Adam can help carry kids.

That won't be OP. Rather seriously UP. Currently as Eve you have to run for first 5-10 minutes, until you find a spot that gives you any chance of successful settlement.  Two people, at this stage obviously without home marker, would need to move very slowly, or they'll get lost. Direct comm wouldn't help them much with finding each other. Also this is one of the most boring parts of the game, based on 10% skill, 90% luck. I wouldn't want to introduce this game to a friend in this way.

I kind of see your point but I don't think it's that hard to find an area that can sustain 2 adults. As for getting lost I don't think it's that hard to follow another person and not wander too far if anything you can make a temporary Home markerAnd find each other that way.

Read about half of the suggestions before I thought of this, so sorry if you already said this. Maybe they could spawn in as Adam and Eve? It would make starting a civilization a lot easier because they can communicate and build at the same time.

I love the Adam and Eve idea!! If they are griefers they'd be ruining their own legacy and work. Helpful Eves or Adam's could actually have time to teach newborns while the other starts building the basics. If one of the pair dies and the other suicides it's not nearly as detrimental to the society as losing two kids you invested time and food into. If they are silent, who cares? There is so much work to do at the start, and chances are you'll have a brother or sister to help you out or talk with.

Two adults at the start may sound too powerful, but I dont think so. Food will be scarce quickly, and they still have to roam to find good land. Hell, you could start a nomadic family easier as well, Adam can help carry kids.

Only drawback I see is duo's getting tired of starting from scratch. Perhaps a spawn algorithm could solve this. An Adam and Eve finding another town could cause interesting trust mechanics. Players would know Adam's and Eve's are playing together, and would take caution accordingly.

It's a shame Jason ruined the 'fun' in his own game. The 3 people he keeps listening to have crushed the game play into a shit boring game. LOL you can't even make a sign in 60 years of life but you can craft a lock for it in 15 seconds. The logic. The game has gone completely downhill since the "rags to riches" update and instead of listening to ideas from people who loved the game he listened to his crying buddies and turned the game into a tedious grind for nothing and no reward.

This game was fun when the server was full but the direction it's going it will be the few beta boys left all fagging out in discord together.

Nice language, you seem fun.

This was me!! I felt responsible, it looked like one guy just stood at carrots and ate them. So I asked someone to kill him. Someone said he was farming. I felt bad. In the chaos the other person went stab happy. Idk how to use bow haha.

I feel like the friends playing together would complain about the mother choosing to only keep one child alive, which I think would happen more often than not.

Also, let's say both players are 40, productive and having fun. Player A dies from a rattlesnake accidentally. Player B will most likely want to keep playing with their friend, so they'll suicide. What if they were the last female? I'm ok with family lines dying out from murderers, bears, stupidity and the like. But because a player wants to play with their friend again? Doesn't feel right.

I'd love for people to play together but I just don't think this game is made for that. I think being alone, unsure of your surroundings and who is friend or foe adds so much to the game. If I had twins I feel like KNOWING twins are friends would really put me off to even bothering with them.

I like boys because they get SO MUCH DONE! The first time I lived as a boy I was shocked at how much I got done. It was also refreshing not popping out kids most my life.
