I always prefer being born as a girl. Not just because I’m a girl irl but because I know I’m a good enough player to survive to old age regularly, so odds are pretty good that I’ll repopulate if everyone else dies. I also have the ability to abort babies if we have too many people already. Sucks when other mothers ignore you and feed it anyway tho.

Sometimes I enjoy being male because I can do things without having to run back and feed a baby or having to juggle babies and carts if I’m far out in the wilderness. 9 times out of 10 I will suicide if I’m Eve’s son because it’s depressing when all your sisters die lol

#27 Re: Main Forum » Wind Family/ Trying to work out cows » 2018-08-11 08:47:54

To make bread, you make regular dough, then let it sit for a minute or two until it puffs out and becomes leavened. Plop it on a plate and cut it with a knife. Then cook it in the oven like you do with pies. Then slice the bread with the knife.

Butter is more complex and I haven’t done it myself yet but I *think* this is how it goes: Shoot a bison with calf (you need two arrows), take the calf with rope, feed it a bowl of corn kernels. Feed a domestic cow a bowl of corn kernels and wait for the calf to walk away. Use a bucket on the cow to get milk. Let the milk sit for a minute and it will separate skim milk and cream. Use a bowl to take out the skim milk. Then use a skewer on a bowl of cream to make a bowl of butter. You can then put one slice of bread on a plate, butter your knife and put it on the bread.

I was Finn Green, a blonde boy born in a peaceful era. My mother, Sara Green, died not long after I was born. I was about five or six when she was mauled by a wild boar in the swamps. I witnessed her death with a basket of clay in my small hands. Sad to see her go so soon, I told her I loved her and ran back home before I starved. She had my twin brothers before her death and I tried my best to feed them even as I was so young myself, but sadly one of them starved to death. The other twin was heartbroken and couldn't go on without his brother, so he joined him in the afterlife. I mourned them all before starting work on pottery and smithing.

When I was born, we only had a hammer, an axe, and a shovel. I made plenty of bowls and plates, then with the help of my Uncle Eiji, we smithed efficiently and made a few more tools. I was in my teens when I noticed a blonde toddler, Jalon, with the mark of the devil. I knew bad things were in our future and I tried to starve her by picking her up repeatedly, but she was able to live to adulthood. Steel production halted when we noticed the hammer and bellows were missing. We all suspected her and knew something had to be done.

I ran off in the wilderness to collect milkweed for a bow and arrow. I wasn't gone long, but when I stumbled back into town with weapon in hand, I noticed my Uncle Eiji and Jalon running around. Eiji had the bow and Jalon had the arrow. I don't think she expected me to show up with a weapon too. She ran in circles, standing on the same tile as the only other fertile woman. I stood on warm temp and patiently waited for a clear shot. She stepped out for just a second and I released the arrow straight into her chest. She went on and on, saying something along the lines of "Finally the n****rs did something worthwhile" and kept repeating it until she died.

I was congratulated and we all thought that would be the end of it. We were wrong. I was able to retrieve the bellows hidden behind a yew tree to the south but not long after Jalon was dealt with, I noticed her son James hiding behind a tree with a loaded bow. I warned the others but seconds later, I heard the death scream. I ran south to find my beloved Uncle Eiji in shock and bleeding out in front of our forge. Blood boiling, I ran to get my own bow and killed James just before he tried to run away. He said nothing as he bled out.

I smithed some more with my niece (cousin?) before I died. Evan had found a horse and I ran around in old age to set up a fence as fast as possible. I died peacefully of old age not long afterwards, pleased that I was able to avenge my uncle and protect my surviving family. Hopefully the Green family will live on and have much happier stories to tell than I did!

Hi mom! I was your daughter Worth and I did my best to protect the camp. You’ll see a few murders in the tree, where I killed two griefers. My son Dickson had gotten hold of a knife at some point when I stumbled upon my wounded cousin Briony. I found him quickly and stabbed him mid chase. Then another woman named Aster who was having fun tossing babies in a teleporter decided to litter the entire camp with milkweed seeds. Everyone was in agreement that she needed to be stopped so she was killed too. There were many knives around and I distributed them to people I trusted, like my daughter Molly. Hopefully the murder ceases now but it’s probably impossible with so many weapons floating around for generations lol

I decided to make this post because of the huge influx of noobs and murders I've seen lately. These are things a griefer knows well but they don't care about the experience of their fellow players. This is for the noobs who just don't know any better and wonder why they keep getting murdered.

If you don't follow the tips in this list, you might find yourself bleeding out from a knife or arrow wound. Some players aren't so forgiving as they've experienced it so often, they immediately believe you to be a griefer.

If you see someone bringing home rabbits and they don't have a pack on their body, don't touch the furs. Odds are good that they're an aspiring trapper and once they can make their own pack, they'll be able to bring home twice as many to clothe you and more. Just be patient, or go out and snare your own rabbits.

Are you a new mother? You find a perfect temperature tile or fire very close to the forge and plop your baby down right there, but that's actually one of the worst places for them to be. Babies have huge heads and it makes it difficult for a smith to see behind them. Smithing is timed and you must work quickly to be efficient, and the job is ten times harder when you can't see the things you need to quickly grab or hammer. Don't argue with the smith, just be a good citizen and nurse your children elsewhere.

Shepherds can be very protective of their pens. Most of the time, the shepherd is armed with a knife, so tread carefully. You should never kill all of the sheep, or the mouflon. You should never shear all of them. You should never put dead lambs in the trash pits. The pits will fill up and the sheep will be able to escape if you do. Dead lambs take a little while to disappear on their own but if you desperately need space in the pen, just plop them on the ground outside of the pen.

Babies don't need weapons. I know it seems cute for a grandmother to pass on her backpack and knife to her newborn granddaughter, but it's a horrible decision. For one, you don't yet know what kind of player that baby is. And two, another evil player could simply swap their own pack with the baby's, and now the griefer is armed with a knife. On that note, also beware of being an old person with a knife. Griefers can swap clothing with you too.

Want to hunt wolves, bears, or boars? You need a bow and arrow. But its common courtesy to not walk through town with a loaded bow. It scares people and makes them think that you're a threat, and you could be killed for it. If you're truly not trying to kill people, carry the bow and keep the arrow in your pack, explaining what you mean to do.

See a milkweed farm? That is specifically for ropes since there's no other way to make it. If you want to sew something and you need thread, don't take it from the farm. Use a ball of thread that you can make from using a drop spindle on fleece.

Don't make fur clothing. Use fur for backpacks and make shoes, hats, and sweaters out of wool instead. On that note, don't give babies backpacks unless all of the adults have one too. Adults are more likely to make use of them while going on long runs for iron, clay, rocks, or anything else. Babies should stay close to home and tend to the farms while young anyway.

You have a baby with black text. This means the baby has been cursed, which means that TEN other players have decided they are an evil player and should be watched closely. I would personally recommend starving the baby. It's very hard to get enough players to curse someone, and if it has been achieved, that person does not deserve to play in your town. Do yourself and others a favor and eliminate the threat as fast as possible. I'd even recommend killing the baby so it's locked out of your lineage and you don't have to worry about other noobs raising it.

Feel free to add more to this list. These are only things I could come up with off the top of my head, but I hope it helps you avoid being murdered for petty crimes <3

I’ve been spawning in abandoned towns the past few days. Most of the time I see a bunch of decayed clothing and baskets/carts but yesterday I actually stumbled upon a FRESH grave. Its 100% possible that an Eve will find the most recent dead town

I was your son Firdaws. I knew she was evil from the moment I was born and opened my eyes to see a murder had taken place. I only stuck around so I could try to kill her. I ran off to make an arrow when I stumbled upon a knife hidden behind a tree. I had just turned old enough to grab it and ran back home as fast as I could. I chased her for a bit and almost got her, but she stabbed me just before I could get a clean shot. Happy to see you guys finally killed her tho lol

#33 Re: Main Forum » how to make snake barrier » 2018-07-26 21:48:23

I guess you could make adobe oven bases if you have plentiful clay and reed but that would be a waste of resources. They can still slither across items, they just can’t kill you if you’re standing on the items. Maybe if you clutter your camp with milkweed seeds or something until you can make a knife? I’ve never tried to make a barrier, I just warn my kids about the dangers and hope for the best lol

#34 Re: Main Forum » michaelson family - did we all dc?? » 2018-07-24 07:21:50

Yeah, I was Snayder. I don’t know if it was a bug with the horse or what.. I got on the horse and my aunt died, then everyone else died suddenly. I was the last girl alive for a minute and I couldn’t put the horse down, I couldn’t move anywhere. I was just stuck on the horse, helplessly watching my hunger drain to zero. I heard the fire die out so it wasn’t like the game froze. My cause of death was starvation. Idk what happened but it was really sad because it was such a nice spot sad

I was Hope, your sister/mom! The spot mom picked was kinda tough and I wasn’t sure the place I picked was good either, but at least it had desert and water. Crazy to see our family has gotten to 21 generations so far! Unfortunately a lot of murder too tho

#36 Re: Main Forum » Home direction bug » 2018-06-24 18:11:40

If your mother makes a home marker before you’re born, you will be born with the same home marker. If she doesn’t, you don’t have one either and you’ll have to make it yourself. Sometimes when you have no home marker, a person in a town rings the bell tower and it sets a home marker for you. I’d recommend not following the bell because odds are you’ll never reach it in your lifetime. There’s no end to the map btw. I think it’s infinite.

#37 Re: Main Forum » Missed Connections » 2018-06-22 06:43:55

What a crazy fun life. I was a nameless boy since I was born before my mother even realized she had birthed me. My grandmother raised me up in our huge town and I ran off as soon as I had hair. By the time I found my mother, I was just too old to be named. There wasn’t much to be done that people weren’t already doing so I decided to mess around with the update. Lots of new things to try and the healing system intrigued me the most.

Paramedic was my calling. My uncle Elroy and his sister (who I can’t remember the name of sry!) were trying to figure out how to save people. Uncle Elroy taught us how to make sterile pads, to stitch up wounds, and all the other good stuff. My aunt and I followed him around and my cousin Jessica enthusiastically volunteered to be our guinea pig. Uncle was skeptical since her survival wasn’t guaranteed, but he eventually relented. He soon got too old to test out our theories and gave his backpack with knife to me. I swore that I would carry on your legacy and I did make good on that promise.

I prepared more pads since the others had gotten dirty (also realized you can simmer them again to make them sterile!). Someone was shot with an arrow and we almost saved them but we had no more pads, so he sadly perished. We also discovered that you need to heat the knife to seal wounds.

Later on, I was told there was a party in the soup room. I foolishly walked inside and a terrible woman named Sheena locked me inside with my cousin Persis. She laughed at us as we begged her to let us out, but luckily we had plenty of soup to hold us off until someone could find the key. I wasn’t going to kill her for it if she let us out swiftly but she dragged it on for so long that I began to ponder the idea. We could have just forgotten about it but she kept milking it. Even so, as a paramedic, it went against my nature to cause harm, regardless of how she treated us.

She eventually did let us out but by that point, I had turned elderly and didn’t have much time left. Jessica and I ran to finish our experiments. I prepared the fire and kinda stole an arrow from a girl (sry) but there was instantly so much murder around us. People shot each other and stabbed each other. I was able to save two people I believe, Jessica included. I completed my life’s mission. I hope I did you proud, uncle!

You were the only toxic person in that town. You had the worst attitude and murdered everyone just because you wanted a damn apron that you could have made yourself. Instead, you took the easy route and made yourself look so pathetic lmfao. When this game dies, you’ll only have yourself to blame for it. So, congrats?

#40 Re: Main Forum » Missed Connections » 2018-06-19 07:36:54

To my big brother, Thor, my mother, Aphrodite, and my sister, Betul.

Mother, you were ripped from our lives far too fast. When I was born in town, I was optimistic about our futures. Still a newborn baby boy, my older sister Betul came up to us because she wanted to show you a shot wolf that was eternally dying. She tried stabbing it with her knife but she accidentally stabbed you instead. I wasn't even a year old yet when you perished. Betul starved not long after you, but my brother Thor, just old enough to grab things for himself, saved my life. He fed me berries by the fire until I was old enough to fend for myself.

I thought there were no more girls left and I was worried, but Thor tried to reassure me by telling me he believed we had more sisters out there. I was hopeful for a while as we made plenty of stew and pies and revitalized the berry farm so the girls would have some food to come home to. As the years passed, our hope began to fade. We were determined to stay alive and to make our town great, instead turning our hopes to a random Eve who might stumble upon us or our ruins.

I fixed the sheep pen and got compost started again while Thor planted milkweed and worked on stews. We passed each other often, not saying much, but we shared a bond that let us live in a comfortable silence. We had each other and that was all we needed.

We joked about our names at the end and I swore that I would bury you for all you did. You saved my life and it was the least I could do. I passed a few years after you, but not before burying you beneath a juniper tree and placing a fresh mutton pie upon your grave. One of the dozens of pies you helped me make before your swift end. I remembered your good deed and stood beside your grave until my time had finally come.

#41 Re: Main Forum » what a great town » 2018-06-17 22:47:51

This place is dead now as far as I know. South city was looking REALLY bad so I went north and had a daughter who said she built the little village in the north. She wanted to stay there but a man from the south came up to us and told us to come back as they had no fertile women. I agreed to help repopulate and try to fix the farms... but the two men were coordinated griefers.

An old woman gave me her knife to “protect the town” before she died and then a man stabbed her. The other man stabbed my newborn son so I whipped out my own knife to try to protect the family I had left. Unfortunately stabbed my newborn daughter because she was on the same tile as one of the men sad then they got me and I told my only daughter left to just run, but I think she was too proud and wanted to avenge me. She had picked up my knife and tried to get him but they got her in the end, too.

I’m sorry I’m a terrible PVPer and I couldn’t protect you, my children :’( I should have just run north with you all.

My first two children were Rory and Amy Pond smile I think I had a Melody too

We had no way of knowing that you could be trusted. What would you have done with the knives? You scolded me after I killed the man who had demanded my knife for no reason. I had reason to believe he was one of my killers. I’m sorry you were murdered but it had to be done. I was a good boi

#44 Re: Main Forum » Battle of Three Families - Holding the peace. » 2018-06-11 10:34:59

Hello, my children. A few hours ago I spawned into a beautiful town completely devoid of life. I quickly named myself Eve Pond and raised all of my children in hopes that some would survive and help the village thrive. I made tons of stew for my family and lived out a very peaceful life, dying at age 60.

In another stroke of luck, I respawned into that very same town and named myself Eve Lake. This is where things took a turn for the worse. I was helping to make more stew for my families and even got to see one of my Pond daughters die of old age. So focused on the stews, I only caught a glimpse of a man running into the crock shop with a bow and arrow. I ran since I was unarmed but unfortunately, lag got the best of me. He shot me from the corner of my screen even though I hadn’t stopped running. He said something like “kill the heretic”.

I then spawned in again as a boy, to a family I can’t remember. I guess I made the mistake of telling people I was the Eves, because another man was chasing me with a bow. I was killed again by my own son..

When I was born as Scott Fawns, I had bloodlust. I seeked vengeance for my murders since I had revived the town and that was how they repayed me. I killed people I’m not proud of, but I was paranoid. I killed a man who I believed to be my son reincarnated. Also killed a man who kept asking for my knife with no reason.

It’s sad what became of the town, since I think it died again, but... maybe people will learn their lesson. I’m sorry my friend killed you, mom. You found the weapons and you knew too much. I was told to kill you but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. You never did me wrong.

I’ve been silent about it for a while but I’m sick of your high and mighty attitude, Morti. You think you’re hot shit just because you have the most hours. You think you’re the best mother that could ever be but I wonder if you purposefully forgot your time playing with me. Morti here raised me up to five years old and once I could speak a bit more clearly, I asked something along the lines of “Are we staying here?” because it was a pretty terrible spot on the edge of a green and grey biome. Morti then called me a “dyke” and ran away, leaving me to die alone in the wilderness. Pair that with your condescending attitude towards *everyone* like you know every single in and out of this game.. Raising every kid no matter what? You abandoned all of my siblings too but whatever. Sorry to break it to you Morti, but you’re not nearly as great as you think.

So tbh you could spend a whole life going on a scavenger hunt looking for a crown lol. Also started building the royal castle but someone had finished it with a lock by the time I respawned in :’( gimme the key my dudes!!

To my mom Raven-

I was your daughter Neleh, born right next to that iron vein you found at the edge of the desert. We were running very low on iron so I made it my life’s mission to make that iron mine. I noticed I hadn’t seen you in years and as I was bringing the stanchion kit to the pit, I discovered your corpse in the desert. I assume one of those nasty snakes got to you as they almost got me many times. Your backpack and gear aided me well along my journeys. With it, I was able to bring back around 20 iron or more in my lifetime.

I made sure all my kids knew where the mine was, and I even gave birth to a few children beside it. I had them follow me home just like you did with me. I’m sorry I couldn’t see you off from the world but I hope I made you proud in the afterlife. One of the men built a trash sheep pen and compost had been started. I saw some of my granddaughters before I died and passed your backpack along to her. We were doing well and I hope we’ll continue to thrive <3

I wanted to chisel “mother” into it but there wasn’t enough time in my life as life goes on and many things still needed to be done. I don’t remember much else from that life but I do remember you <3
