Sorry But carnitas are the 2nd most efficient food on my end, surpassed only by milk.
http://prntscr.com/p59vlm
They consume only 1 corn to produce 48 units of food
Their problem is the vast amount of storage/space needed to produce them in quantity.
Here is a sample of food analysis based on resource consumption
http://prntscr.com/p572j8
Up till now
Berries are the best raw farmed food in term of resource efficiency.
they are the most efficient in all 3 categories: Water, soil, iron
But They even surpass cooked mutton and bread. They only lose to Stew and mutton pie.
I will continue the spreadsheet for other food sources too.
An interesting parametre to be add would be to differentiate wild berries and domestic berries to different items so we can have a better analysis on this and get rid of the "noise" of wild berries.
A textbook of a town. with mine, oil and a permanent big wall. Every town has to be like that.
Thanks! it works fine!
tried to install it but I got an error.
What do I do? Do I have to reinstall the game for it to work?
It is overall a better experience, try it and tell us what you think of it.
why wait for it to dry though? Other liquids are containable, a water bucket is for sure. what about milk?
if not a bug then it lucks consistency and worth fixing.
Really? 19 Grievers? Making bows?
That is so frustrating, that is so sad, I can't curse all of them and even if I could, I would be massively area banned and sent to donkey town. I hope Jason change that curse system, to send people to donkey town after eight curses plus area ban.
It's time to stop playing for some time again, it's really frustrating to play among too many trolls, it's not funny at all, I only feel frustration, anger and sadness when I play with that kind of people. The worst part is that they come here on forums to hire new trolls and destroy even more the players' experience.
It's sad because I really love the game OHOL, but nowadays I'm feeling more sad than happy playing the game, not because of the game itself but some players that waste their times to troll us with no punishment at all. I came back this week after stop playing due to grievers, now it's time to chill a little bit more.
You won't be area ban if you curse them.
you will be able to born to them, they won't be able to born to you. This is how curse works. To be area ban they have to curse you as well.
Most people don't care or don't know yet that you have to water them 2 times.
If you want to be a forester better start at the age of 10! by making your own compost and hoe.
if you start late, make sure that someone will inherit them or they will die.
the most important late job that we need to keep constructions and fire going!
Pine forester, Plz plant those!
it helps a lot when the city has an unlimited supply of crafting material
Is this a bug?
it ended
The previous arc lasted 4028 years
has this been reported on GitHub?

Knives are better than bows, multi-tool, stored in bp, recyclable in time of need, don't use Rope.
in time of peace you don't really need more than one Bow, but more that one knife is always useful. (kitchen, sharp stone, crafting, healing, blades for smithing, use less space and don't litter upon use)
ALSO, they cause less damage in the hands of a griefer because their wounds are easier to be healed.
Griefers and solo raiders are extremely more common than raiding parties with heal equipment.
I have never faced a self-healing duo to say that bows are important to counter raiders with heal equipment.
Rift area is big, try explore all of it and find all the villages laying around.
Plz eat only berries and cactus though
It's weird that you need to speak the other family's language to declare war. That makes sense for peace, but why can't you go to war with people you don't understand?
cause war requires negotiations and negotiation requires talking.
Better try talking and trade before warring.
Raiding is not war.
Raiding is one-sided with the purpose to destroy and steal.
War is two-sided with the purpose of resource reallocation between the two groups. thus war requires diplomacy.
The game feels great!
All my lives were full of challenges in places with an abundance of raw materials to help me solve them.
-----------Life story-------------------
Today I played to one of the last two families the "Nice family" in a late eve camp. http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=5210389
Oh man, I have zoom mode but still, this was intense!
I was in a village with 10 people but all of them naked with only BPs and some loincloths.
As a child, I started to hunt some rabbits while eating wild berries to keep me going. I got the first bunch to home and then I saw it.
We already had some furs and a pen but no sheep in it.
I made an arrow and someone else made a bow. Searching for a mouflon we found a fully clothed corpse on the snow. I got fully dressed while I was waiting for a nearby mother mouflon to get a baby. we killed her of course (poor mother mouflons) and took her baby home.
We then started smithing shears and a file, I used an egg to make a domestic goose to oil the file but someone else hunted a wild goose as well.
In between smithing I cooked eggs to keep us going as more and more naked babes were been born to our camp and I was starting to feel the pressure.
So goose had been cooked, all eggs had been turned to omelets and Shears was done! But oh shit, we have no spindle....we had a saw so I took an arrowhead and went to a near camp that I had seen two fire bows lie there.
In the way back home, I met my son. Who asked me for all my clothes. I gave them all right away with no second thought, I had a 10x yum chain to this point and I was gonna make new ones anyway.
Spindle ready. I let it by the pen and fast to the bakery to grab a bowl of a yummy stew before I die.
I was very lucky as the stew had been eaten up and only a half bowl had remained. There I realized that the camp was running out of food.
I went back to the pen where a bunch of 5 fur was collected but only one fur remained. People must have used it to dress themselves. So that was it the tailored machine had to start rolling. I had to work fast and get them all clothes before we starve.
I made a loincloth and got back to my childish activity of rabbit hunting. I remembered that I had left a snare down south to the rabbit holes. I grabbed an empty basket and gone for it.
I went to the spot that I had left it but it was empty. Someone took it. It was the guy 15 tiles away who had come to hunt rabbits bringing a whole cart with him. He already had a full basket with rabbits. I greet him, show him the needle and thread I had in my BP and told him I need fur. He was more than happy to see that I was gonna make some clothes from his work and he accepted my trade of an empty basket for a full one with joy.
Bringing them back home I saw a naked mother feeding her naked baby. I dropped my basket and start tailoring. I made a hat and a loincloth to dress the baby.
I didn't get clothes once again but I was happy once more. I could make more clothes after all, but then it hit me. The hunger bell was calling, hunting and tailoring had to stop once again. I went to the backer to find any source of yummy food I could get. An old man there was asking who cooks. I use the same question and I immediately understood what he was looking for.
" I am " I replied immediately, while the bell rang once again. Hearing that the old man pulls a knife from his BP and drops it to the ground. I quickly grab, store to mine BP and starting to searching for yum food. Only two pies had left and they were meh for me. The oven was filled with kindling though and near they were lying down many raw pies and a raw Bread loaf! I didn't remember having a brad before! That was it, I had two peeps left, more than enough for a pro yum autist like me. I run to the fire, fired up the branch and back to the kitchen, fired the oven, the flames were up and the bell was going crazy now. Got the raw bread next to the flaming oven as my peeps went to Zero, drop it down, pulled out knife, Raw bread in hand, flames down, cooked bread in hand, knife in hand, used it on bread, knife in BP, bread in hand, and....... , yum achieved of course I was feeling a ninja https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idefYMHbcS8
This was it, that was my home now, the bakery. I cooked all the remaining pies and made many more yummy ones, I continued feeding the town as the village clearly was needing it. the pies I made all were eaten in mass. But I had no problem keeping up with it, I was a ninja cook after all
In my pop up was saying Six remaining when I played.
the birth of a family is not mentioned though for spam reasons I suppose.
also, I don't think that an eve window reopens.
I don't know how we could create any new family post this window in some way ether.
willow tree and bald trees don't need to be hungry work, we don't use them for anything else than firewood and we cant replant them btw.
Is this a game who cares about realism? Engines cant be build from a soil forge also.
Jason isn't giving up, in fact, more and more Meaningful changes are about to come. This game is good right now but it will become great soon.
Thank you, Jason
By the way OHOL got me back to gaming, I had stopped gaming for more 2 years before OHOL gets publish. and I had a long 8 years of gaming habit.
Jason I will repeat to emphasize on this.
cursing one player prevents him from being your bb but it doesn't prevent you from being his bb.
This is important to:
not to leave noobs alone with griefers,
keep an eye on him, be able to forgive your mother,
They will be able to start living normal lives.
They won't affect family lineage as infertile mothers if they will be born into one.
A redemption mechanic can be added this way.
The first part about family ownership could be implemented by Jason with the current game engine.
Fixes: unable to block fence gates, able to transfer gate ownership easily across family, able to excommunicate family members, able to adopt anyone into the family.
The next part of the market won't be implemented cause it is not supported by the engine either by Jason's purpose for the game. BUT! it is what I will be doing for the next rift and I will be happy to help me with that. I will make a market with locked doors on the tar monument where people could come and trade without being threatened with me(the trader) as an arbitrator. I have already a way to do this in mind
Pein Plz PM me your discord account if you are interested to plan this.
oh yes, a wooden shovel!
the iron shovel is really weaker than other tools as well, has ~40 uses but soil need 2 uses at the time, and you need a shovel for much more things than soil, like building or for graves. Other than hoe which is just a farming tool.
About the rift? I loved it! It wasn't really fun to play in but neither the free world was for me. The free world was a boring meaningless state. But the rift! It gave a meaning to the game, a purpose, it bonded us together and split us into groups (mainly grievers and caregivers). The most important is a tool for many needed fixes and changes to be added to the game and with every rift, our game experience will be improved.
that's the only bonus.
you get up to 16 extra pips.
60 is maxed score soooo: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/pdreceasn5
just guessing staff here don't know the exact formula that Jason chose
