For the Apocalypse to be a meaningful challenge, it has to be possible but stoppable. To stop it you have to be able to know that it's happening. Apocalypse towers need to broadcast their existence and location on a regular basis, much more frequently than only once each time a block is added.

It could be interesting if each level of the stepping endtower had a different sound playing that is more "apocalyptic" sounding each time (or at least the last layer) and the higher tier endtowers had priority on the home marker over the smaller towers.

This way you would know if a tower is at the last stage and everyone that wants to stop it would rush there and try ending it or on contrary try to defend it, this could lead to interesting battles between the two sides, the field of the endtower would turn red /devious lol

Basically any indication that the end is near and that ignoring it will result in the apocalypse

yah that would be nice and at the end their is an entire coarse of mournful music!

well I agree hot air balloons are simpler and would give the player more sight, to scout even when slower.

I have also have this happen, but the worst if their is a taunting baby, when their is a noob chasing after their baby, like its the end of the world and then the baby stopes to be fed and then continues running! or when they run, come back and run again! Its like they are trying to be annoying! and waste PP (pip points).

Well they'll just chase you, and you run. I've led two bears out of a town once so its definitely possible to lead two in. He prob dropped off the two and ran back for a third.

If you have a horse its even easer to lead bears as when on top of a horse the bears can't kill you but will still follow, allowing for easy, quick, and safe (for you)  transportation of bears! I know because that's how I put a bear into an animal pen!

I see what you mean, this is also how life works, the happier some thing makes you the more likely you would want to have it, however this depends on the situation!

you are stranded in the desert and you get the option of a Dimond or a water bottle. Now most people would choose the water bottle as it increase your chances of survival!
however if you were in a game show, most people would choose the Dimond, because they don't need the water as urgently!

Now think back to the scenario of you in the dessert, in stead of only being offered one Dimond or water bottle every 50 feet you are given the same option. at first the clear choose would be the water bottle, but the more water bottles you get the less urgent your situation becomes, so the value of the water bottle increase, and soon your choosing the Dimond over the water bottle, because you have enough bottles to survive the trip.  yikes

most of use live in the area where the Dimond would always be more valuable then the water. even in OHOL you can see this, at first people concerned about survival and then crowns and yum meter. it's all about perspective!

this is some thing that has been long anticipated for, as a way to connect families and bring together love ones. I would like to present a few Ideas related to this Idea, "HOW TO BRING LOVED ONES TOGHER"

1- rings

rings symbolizes, never ending love with its circular shape, now we have many types of rings but circular ones have been the fashion since marriage (also when you get older it gets impossible to get take the ring off)
my idea is that you can make a ring and their will be four different types

gold ingot + file = 4 gold rings

lock blank + chisel = lock blank with chisel + mallet = iron ring

rope + sting = rope ring

*slight gore waring*
rabbit bones + rabbit bones = bone ring

once you have 2 of the same rings you put them together and use a steal file (doesn't loose durability) will give you joined rings.
if two people wear the rings they are coupled, (this will also work with a lesbian or gay couple because its 2019)
any children birthed in this cupple will see the man as dad and loose all other titles he might have had. the married will also see each other as husband/wife.

2.words

words have power, in real life and in OHOL you can curse and name some one, that is power! right their.
with this
one person would say "/marriage (insert name)"
and if the person responds with "/marriage (insert proposer's name)" in from a one tile radios from the original person they will coupled.

after you get married you can change your forename, this will cause your children to loose ties to any of your family, to change your fore name you must say "/forename (name)"

this is important, because we don't want that much in breeding going on!

3.combination

This is a combination of Ideas 1 and 2-
you have to make a coupled ring, each of you have to be wearing it and then say /marriage(person name)
this might slow down the accident of accident marriages, and would look a lot nicer.
but it would be a greater waste of resources and time. you will still get to change your forename after your married, and your titles will be changed for you children!__________________________________________________________________________


I think this would be a nice addition to a very complex game of relation ships! and with the change of forenames their will be a lot more family debates and smaller titles unlike--

I know that ohol is a survival game and that a lore would be perfectly useless, but I think it would be an interesting idea non the less!

My idea is that their would be some scattered unbreakable ruins of buildings and materials witch we can not interact with, ruins of the past life witch goes hand in hand with the Idea of, some objects surviving the apocalypse. some ruins might hold some information of the past, some ancient tool a piece of parchment ext. and now that  we are in one big server, this would be (well I think) a nice Idea. and we have the community piece together what might have happened, and explain some of the magical properties of our ohol. which might actually be science!

Its just an Idea and I would be fine if we don't get one I think however that ohol has potential to have a hard to uncover, and satisfying lore!

we should be able to make snow walls, like the igloos used in the arctic, of course we can't copy the dome shape and, the walls melt depending on the heat of its location. as snow is easy to find it should be a great building material, keeping people cool in hot biomes and warm in cold biomes.

you know what I fined to most annoying if you are in a great city, but while your lets say, hunting rabbits and some one  rings a bell all the way 10k away not only did you loose your home marker, but also your home! For some times youu think you know the way but the more you travel the more you get lost, eventually forcing you to a. follow the bell or b. commit kill themselves.

Thats what most people see bells i think traps or distraction that lure you away from your home, same with the dark nosaje, which once as an eve I thought was a bell but just a lit nosaje! AAAHHH

Bells are nice but they shouldn't over power, Iteams such as home markers. but over power the lit nosaje!

I started my life like any kid, helping on the the berry farm doing the same thing over and over again, I was a female at the time. I saw my yum meter and had an Idea.

So before on one of Jason's posts I commented how we should have a birth mother, because you can stimulate, the amount of babies you have. So started to scavenge, I ate corn, strange pies, I even was able to eat green beans.

This is actually pretty funny because once I ate one of the beans, I wouldn't get any extra yum points, so I forced feed my entire village green beans! I know you shouldn't do that but I bet no one had green beans in my village. after feasting I went to a perfect spot where I stood and stood, some times I would eat a new food and increase my yum meter.

I did this for the rest of my baby giving life. I got my yum meter at *11 (could have gotten it to 13 if I didn't forget, misplace my mutton, and didn't forget the popcorn). I also had very long talks with my mother, who was very supportive of my choice. I might have even increased my yum meter to be higher if I had her helping me.

I can tell you standing in one place at perfect temperature on a diet is hard! I don't know how many times I was tempted to flee. In the end I gave birth to 6 beautiful children, and to put this small number into scope I gave birth to 6 kids, in the down time! where basically no one is playing.

4 of my 6 were girls, the rest boys two of the girls how ever committed suiside, but still 4  alive children in down time is impressive.

So by doing nothing I created the only two soon to fertile girls in the village. I was very proud!

I fought for the best for my children, once their was a women that died in front of me and of course I was going to give the cloths to my baby, but another mom saw the clothes and charged for the body I arrived first, when I clicked on the body I got as snow ball, I chucked it at the other mom to stop her, next click a another snow ball landed square in her face.  third click a coat, then the mom recovered and stole the backpack!

this was a mom war!

all in all I think being a birth mom is a good tactic, I would change my strategy a little bit though.
I would have asked for help, form people to make me new foods to keep my yum meter high and prepare more for being a birth mother before. I can see how people will think you are being wast full and try to kill you, so you will need the approval of at least on other person. A village should have about 2-3 birth mothers that have a high yum meter and will take care of other kids as well!

for my finally note "I will protect it through blood and bone" I said
this is how by doing nothing and, eating food I ensured the survival of my town!

I think the biggest problem is that people lack the organization to function properly something you see in our world.
Ex. You get assigned a group project and/or activity, and only one person doesn't care, two of them are fighting for power, one of you does the work but never shares it and, finally your the person who gets your part done, and suffer from others stupidity.

its not the lack of resources its not the updates, its the problem with communication, and cooperation, and negligence. this is where I see the radio as useful as communication is the first step to a working, cooperating, and maintained society!

A. You have a town spread out through multiple out posts, such as one being a berry farm and another a forge, and have them connected, by a series of roads?

B. A main city in the middle with a little bit of every thing, and having 2-3 out posts for people to go, and explore?

I have realized some thing! It's mind blowing! I have played in both public and privet servers, have played from when tilled rows were endless, to the farming renaissance, from feet to wagons to horses to cars! in other words a long time and I have only recently decided to join the forums and talked and discussed many things and I would like to bring a discussion into the light!


I want to talk about a which you think is better, public, or privet servers.

I have realized that in public servers you have a strange kind of fun, every time you click the start, you never know what is going to happen or what might you might be born into. You can be in a mass Holocaust, or in the middle of a peasants revolt! their is an air of mystery every time you start a new life! and because you don't have a certainty of, being reborn into a town, people make the most of their life! and any one can tell this, because you see kings and religions, criminals and gangs, massacres and family drama! This need to be remember causes many, strange and new scenario!

as I like to call it Belief.

Now for privet servers don't have that thrill of not knowing what will happen next, and there is not as much role play, my theory is that they, because people know they will just come back in the same spot their isn't a need to make, an impression and need to make life changing choose. But this is rivaled, with the creative spirit with a world that you can build and build, making huge structures, lush gardens, meaningful graveyards, and majestic churches, thanks the repeating pattern of respon. and do again.

I like to call this Build.

I personally like Belief better then build, but I would like to know what others think about this.

Belief, vs Build?
Dramatic, vs Stable?
Unknown, vs Predictable?
