Thank you! Much appreciated. I guess the rare axe that gets 4 uses had flaws smithed into the steel lol
Hey if thats how everyone feels i retract my statements.
Im just to sensitive i guess
Actually if you look at the server list http://onehouronelife.com/reflector/ser … ion=report
I think he did do something to get rid of him.. you will also notice that fellas review is gone. Which im all for...
As a fairly new player, I'm finding it an incredibly steep learning curve. It's not a game I can come to to relax. I am trying. I've learned a few things. I had one life with a mum who was a really great smith. I tried to watch her without interfering, but she was so quick I couldn't get the hang of what she was doing, and then I felt bad because I couldn't pick it up. I do feel this game is such a rush, it almost punishes you for doing absolutely anything except constantly try to look for water and carrot seeds. I've never yet had a game where I haven't felt bad for taking up resources trying to learn something new. It does put me off playing cause, I don't want to just spent the game forever water and carrot seed running.
Sadly you chose a bad time to buy the game its very hard to learn currently, and people are less willing to take the time to teach you.
I learned a bit of the game from a mother in a large town with surplus food. She told me to carry a carrot pie (they made them just for this reason) she taught me to smith.
I learned from an uncle how to farm, not to cut all the wheat, when to pick milkweed, what a pond with one use looks like.
I learned how to get and tend to sheep from an aging woman who gave me her cloths before she passed. Leaving me instructions on where to leave her remains.
None of these rich experiences happen anymore. If you really wanna learn how to play all i can say is "git gud"
(Seriosly youtube and wiki. In game learning is very very rare now)
Sure it makes sense with the scale of the game, where everything decays quick because the lives are quick.
If decay is to a scale then farming breeding and what have you should be too... dosent take five years to grow carrots... soil don't come from pits. You just till the ground. Sure a basket irl will decay in sixty years faster if used constantly.
The decisions just dont make any sense to me. Just seems like jason is making things artificially difficult...
ive tried to build stone walls best i can do in one life is a 3x3 hut... other than that, and forges nothing is really a legacy.. of course i have to make two chisels to do it, usually while source'n the iron while tending the fire and farming carrots
Plus back then if you wanted to build something new just grab a basket of carrots as soon as you grow hair say peace and get 14 extra years as "eve"
Game sold as finished product with weekly content DLCs.
Reality: game breaking updates at least once a week (sometimes even crashing servers) followed by few days of hotfixes.I've seen that on someone else's review... Maybe its another Joriom account xD
Wouldn't doubt it guys a creep... who quotes themself in their signature... i mean i like the quote but the joriom 2018 thing...
Just dont add weed i dont need to get hungry any faster

So is there a way for me to enable numbers lol
Would keep me from saying "i need plates" "two"sure, go to this line of code:
https://github.com/jasonrohrer/OneLife/ … .cpp#L1587and include 1234567890 in the string.
Then compile and use the client.
Sweet ill give it a go
i don't like being asked if i'm new or if know how to play or if i know the rules or whatever
what's the point ?
it's a game, one can spawn again & again, as long i am not a griefer & murderer it's legit to just play it as one can
most of the players i play with in the game die, i am most of the times one if not the only surviver, sometimes, seldom someone is still there or maybe even more efficient than me,
that's all i have to say about "experienced players", that's how this game is & also every player was at some point a newbee, so just relax
Its really just do it so i know wheter to teach them about ponds and milkweed.
Usually say
"U new?"
"Y , n?"
"If n ill teach"
As Turnipseed points out, carrots live for two years. The first year gives us the carrot, and the next year the stored energy is used when the carrot sets flower and becomes a small bush with hundreds of seeds.
Wild carrots may last that long (2 years)
But from personal experience you can grow store size carrots in 60-70 days from seed. after this they become woody and hard to eat they will flower withen the next 60 days...
Actually carrots in the wild, and domestic are seasonal plants the same plant wouldn't produce seeds more than once, and would rot and die shortly after. but thats real life.
If game was realistic you would get a harvest of carrots every 15 seconds (60 being a year, 15 being the growing season)
But its obviously not ment to be realistic...
On a separate note wild seeds dont respawn anymore
Yup ive seen it too
Yeah is a problem that needs fixed. Plus easy to tell whos doing it. Just delete his login key...
This would work so much better if the game had seasons. Winter could be festival time because you can't farm anyway.
If one minute equals one year wouldent carrots grow in like 15-30 seconds....
People are typing 6 because there's no binary signature required on the client so people can build their own clients and connect to official servers.

Intended game feature
Its herobrine
The concept that everyone has to know every crafting formula has to die, and it has to be burned with fire. That's a Minecraft mindset. It's death in OHOL.
it isnt that hard to learn all the skills. I mean what happens if you birth three babies that only know how to make pie?
Not everyone needs to know everything. But everyone does need to know
-lake rules
-milkweed rules
-how to make an ingot
-what trees to use for firewood
-concept of seed
-overpopulation prevention
Otherwise they do more damage than good just by existing.
Potjeh wrote:Oh wow. You guys are really burning out Jason quick. Jason, you really need to take a day or two to rest, this ain't good for you.
Well, in defense of the ppl on discord, all they were saying is that they didn't like the update. People have a right not to like an update.
Would solve my problem with it
Just some brief thoughts on that idea...
Pros:
Can spot bears and wolves easier to avoid/hunt them
Get a better sense of your surroundings
Can communicate easier with less chat messages being run off the screen/out of view
May be able to see or find a murder/griefer quicker
Might make it easier to ride a horseCons:
Small items would probably be a huge pain to spot such as berry seeds or arrow heads
Full baskets of snares, carrot seeds, thread, etc would be even harder to tell from empty baskets
Treading on snakes may occur more often since they'd be a bit smaller and camouflage so well into the desert background
It's more "realistic" to have a field of view focused on whats centered infront of you versus the 360 degree approach
it would be nice to zoom in and out with mouse wheel
Eve is supposed to be uncommon, but on the other hand, I have not control over how common it is. Players control that by how many babies they allow to die. If too many babies die, then there will be more Eves. Each woman can only have so many babies in a given time period due to the birth cool-down. If you die as a baby repeatedly and keep respawning, eventually you will run out of mothers to spawn to, and you will spawn as an Eve.
i would disagree.
by making carrots harder to store, and towns harder to maintain you have allowed fewer towns to thrive, and more opportunity for new players to ruin a towns progress.
while letting most of your kids die is a factor have you realized the monument count has not risen since decay update?
+1
+1
i would appreciate something like this...
well you got four distinct types of items in a bag on your back, rummaging around in it to yield something different than what you are holding (like result of right clicking a basket) shouldent be hard irl...
