I'm willing to admit that larger towns are able to support many babies. I'll be kinder to kids in big cities but I'll still probably dump them on another female.

out of curiosity how many kids averaged were noobs?

Recently I got 2 confirmed noobs. I asked them if they were new, Both said "N" but neither was smart enough to move from fire.

I hope ben does get more lives to smile. That first time I did it, I didn't even know about the real ben, I just wanted to see if I could keep the same emotion the whole life. Then I looked up smiling ben and was friggin awe struck that it was an actual person and decided it was just too much of a coincidence. It was fate and now a challenge I must endure.

I've decide that anytime I am named Ben or Benjamin I will smile using in game expression the whole life in homage to this creepy guy

If he can sit and smile for four hours, then I can at least smile using the happy emotion for one whole hour when playing this! My lives haven't been unproductive by any means while doing it.

The first night, last night, I built a working pen from basically scratch for the first time (still one thing I need to work on) and had the sanders family give me a nice sendoff at old age. Glad they got to almost 50 gens after I was gone!

And tonight I was born Into a Tarr family for the first time. Didn't get the last name unfortunately. Got them two horse carts, replenished the wood supply twice, and turned my hat I dyed red into a santa hat. Then gifted an almost misplaced knife to a good shepherd and distributed my backpack clothes and boots to the multiple childrens right as i got old and died.

Say hi to Smiling Benjamin if you see him running about

Somehow my sheep pens only work half the time and I'm going to find out why.

So I've seen topics on clutter, and I have seen topics on the goose cult and I feel like this touches on both.

One of the things that clutters late game villages are eggs in the open, and geese in the sheep pen. In two of my lives while composting today I killed two birds with one stone and solved the problem and can make you both happy.

Geese dance parties.

minegeese.jpg

We all know the locked goose disco rooms in a town, but you can also just bring your geese to a very tiny biome just far enough from your town where they usually wont make it back from someone bringing them back to the village. You and passing travelers can always enjoy the sight.

bonus points if you bring them to a circular biome like this as they almost seem to do coordinated passing circles around each other.

I agree but like I said. Stopping me is meaningless, I won't comeback right away as people are usually more alert after a recent greifing.
love when people like you get hard from killing me 1/10 times.

But give it an hour and that town will have a fresh set of people. I'm not gonna waste effort trying to fight somebody who already knows my patterns, I'd be stabbed as a child!

TLDR; Mortality is your ultimate weakness.

Well honestly I'm not like getting off to stopping it, and sometimes I will let you do your thing and not try to get involved. But I still notice it everytime and can see the operations. I'd rather be known as an explorer than greifer hunter and dont get as big of a rush out of stopping it as you think I do. My rush is traveling and finding things.

Its more of like a mess with the bull get the horns thing. I'm not even the best by any means and I interrupt griefing schemes, so you have to run into more resistance than me. Sure you can come back when I'm gone but there can be someone better who just replaced me. Maybe they just grinded their whole last life too and wouldn't mind a little action.

Next time the game does this to you (especially if it's early in a life), can you quit immediately and send me:

Is this the opposite side to this problem? The server never showing you as connecting even though you did?

Never think you've won by killing a griefer, You only delay things slightly. I haven't regretted purchasing an alt account to get past lineage bans.

Ok so that confirms that suspicion I've had. Ive wondered how a kid can literally follow in the exact destructive path as the previous older adult. I mean I knew that others have alt accounts for other reasons, I just never knew if anyone had it solely for greifing. I thought most of them were just discord teamwork, but it makes way more sense that it is one person.

Well like you know, you and Lu are at the higher side of the scale of greifing and are actually a solid threat vs someone who is going to stab randomly and then starve to death. Im not saying both cant be threatening, but those on the lower scale of greifing will generally combat with the lower of the scale of the general player base. Just thinking you guys deserve a counter challege by someone close to your level every now and then.

See you on the battlefield smile

#688 Re: Main Forum » Do you enjoy killing people? » 2019-02-05 14:44:07

So its been you both this whole time!

In all seriousness, I have probably had a battle with both of you at some point in my play time (either of you ever get trapped in a snow jail by someone sacrificing themselves?). I feel like its easy to prey on the weak, but honestly you can usually spot a griefer from a mile away if you are decent. Even a pretty good one. I've hidden so many arrows, and always love watching someone frantically remake it only to have it disappear again the second they go to their bow hiding spot. Its usually an instant disconnect.

So my question to you is: You guys ever get greifed when greifing?

To answer your question, No I don't enjoy it. Like when I pull weeds in my yard.. I honestly have a split second of thinking who the hell am i to judge what needs to live and die.. but then remember I aint no hippy, and some weeds just need to be pulled. Then you move on because you can bet your bottom dollar they will be back anyways.

*edit
Just to clarify, when I hide arrows I know when to do it and I'm not hiding every arrow I see. Like when you are in a village where there isn't a mouflon, Hog, turkey, or wolf for over a hundred tiles in each direction.

The village was dying with no girls left and I noticed villagers planning to leave it behind to run for the bell town 2k away. I couldn't say anything so I just followed them - soon, I was mid-way to the bell town, looking at my only companion, my old mother, dying in the middle of nowhere, saying goodbyes to me as I made the sad expression, still mute. I think she knew not to expect words from me as she left me her goodbyes. I carried her backpack to the bell town for her, and in the end died with no last words to Old Age.

I had somehow never been born into the speed family, or i think even seen an alive speed, but I always wanted to be in that family so i could have a son that I could name claude. I would tell him that his destiny would be to help every single different person in the village with whatever task they were doing but he had to be mute and only respond with "..."

Gta 3 reference..

Also RIP sand town main hub and west town.. and all the towns we lost.

#693 Re: Main Forum » Infnite horse strat » 2019-02-03 16:46:32

If I can find or make a backpack, I do something similar to that. I catch the horse, tame and saddle him. Then scout for the veins before even making the cart or mine kit. During those scouting runs is when I will also make rope and strings in the wild. When i come back I usually have both a vein spot and everything needed to make the things necessary for the mine.

Also people tend to not take horses without carts for some reason? So I never worry about it dissappearing while I'm making the cart and mine kit.

I try not to have story time that often, but there are certain lives that I feel deserve a retelling. So is the case with my last life, which has to be one of my favorite to date.

I kinda created another gang unintentionally again..

20190203003843-1.jpg

My story begins as a young boy born to a small town mother, who had probably been given a backpack and immediately made a dash for the big city and its fancy bells. I have no idea what she tried to name me but it ended up coming out to Ganiyah Groot. While I could tell mom wasn't the most experienced long traveler, she was not the worst by any means.. She had gotten us 1.3K away from the bells of the main city when i was born. I communicated just enough to tell her that Id be ok when I was old, and as soon as I was, to go ahead and leave without me. Got old enough and said our goodbyes and see you there stuff.

Ok time for Gani to face the world for himself!... All by himself...

Everything was going well, found some old camps on the way and got geared up. Had a close call with a hidden mosqito patch but made it by the skin of my teeth. Got close enough to where the home needle stopped showing distance and was confident i was going to make it, and maybe even find mom!

Out of nowhere the bell marker changes to a endtower chime and the compass has now changed directions... and its close.

Well.. maybe I should go check it out. I mean its close to these bells, so lets see whats going on.

I arrive to a scene of utter chaos. Someone has buried that end base in a forest and a group of 8 individuals including myself have converged on the location. We all arrived in the same general treeless spot. I was probably the last to arrive, but when I got there, there was a full blown snowball war taking place in front of me. I was trying to stay on the outside and just watch when I guess somebody noticed the knife I had found earlier in my basket. I thought i was far enough but someone pelts me and i drop the basket. They then thanked me in the middle of the snowball war and then go knife someone in the center.

Me and one other person I didn't catch the name of were the only survivors of that skirmish. It happened all so fast..

The other person flees and I stand there the only remaining. I quickly take a backpack and leave.
This was my first meeting with members of the Uranga family, but i would meet them again.

20190203000344-1.jpg

Immediately after that battle I headed south and ran into a horseman. He was surprised as I was about the end bell and I told him it was just a blood bath up there. He told me It was pretty far from his town and I decided to get a tipped horse-cart I had traveled past just prior.

I got the horse-cart up, and made it toward the main hub. When I arrived Looked for any Groot relatives and asked around about them but they had never made it to the city. I decided to check out the 1.6 long road going west (my last topic) and then decided to follow the road east which i had never done. The bell marker was now showing that way too. I arrived to Sand Town and was actually warmly greeted by the remaining townsfolk. They had the last name Uranga like the ones in the battle, so I kept my guard up but they turned out to be really chill. The king Lola told me about them loosing most women(maybe in the battle?), and then his right hand man Garry had to kill the last girls who were a greifer duo. We Thought a girl had come into the town and we were saved, but she ended up being too old.

Lost, distraught, and looking for meaning we milled around for a moment when I found out the king had never been to the main city. The king had a new glint in his eyes and said we should go raid the city, either for riches or women! He called upon Garry and the three of us headed into the main hub to plunder to our hearts content as a marauder gang.
We raced to The city as fast as we could with a pretty remarkable pace and formation. The ride was on!

Unfortunately the dying Sand town was more alive than the main hub when we arrived.. There was nobody to raid rob or force to comeback with us. We decided it was a sign and that maybe we were not meant to be plunderers after all. We were all getting up there in the years and we decided to just ring the bells at the main city as a last hurah. I must have missed a part between the king and Garry but I came back to the horse pen to meet back with them and the king had stabbed Garry!

I think Garry asked for it as he was asking go join the victims of his hands and couldnt handle the guilt. They were sharing their love for eachother right before Garry passed.

The king then asked me for one final favor. In our talk about the main town I had also mentioned the town far west of it and how it is sort of hidden yet connected. He wanted to see it as the last goal in his life. We made the trek both pretty under supplied and older in age, but determined. We made it halfway.. then 75% of the way. We both stopped one last time and I told him we were close. We were about only 200 tiles away! I mad dashed it the rest of the way to the village and made it into the main square and looked back waiting to welcome the king.

He never made it.

He starved right at the final stretch of road, and everything he had on him and his body disappeared. It might have been behind a group of trees near his horse-cart, but i couldn't find. In a mad frantic I tried finding an axe and basket to find his body and bring it into town so he could have technically made it, but it was a fruitless endeavor. My final piano started playing and my time was up. I left a last thank you note to my mom in my last words and died at the center of my favorite town.

I love this game

Just wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to this road!

While its not all connected, you can still follow it as a constant trail towards main hub.. and that's amazing to me.

That 33% sounds about right for infant deaths. Usually varies from 10% to 50% on my family trees so sounds right.  Maybe 30% infant, 3% actual disconnects.

Animal death I am very curious to as well. I'm thinking that has to be grouped into starvation along with yellow fever.

I did manage to make an oil rig and some pipes for drilling, but alas some guy stabbed her and she didn't get to see it. But she did leave a daughter behind her, which meant double family in our town which IMO is a great thing. So yeah, I'd say planes have impacted my game at least.

On a funny note after finally getting a plane together (Big thanks to everyone who helped out with the plane!) a kid started the engine for me but forgot to put the tank in the plane... I only noticed this after I ended up in the stone family village now stranded for the rest of my life.

Planes are a doable project for a group of builders in under a life. It was taking me about two hours to basically solo (nearly) kick them out with each attempt failing within about 5~ minutes of finishing the thing up.

Also for anyone who doesn't know make landing pads in your village to make stone "cars." After they decay into roads they are able to be picked up and you can run at road speed as long as you hold onto it. Bonus points for the fact that your road car is able to walk over snakes and deadly animals without harming you. Very very useful stuff if people care to make them for future gens.

Hey the stones! My ma was eve stone and i was bb. We luckily found a half built eve camp so starting was half the work. I cant believe they're still going too. I wonder if they managed to use your plane themselves eventually.
