Open letter to people who start off with Open Letter— No.
You say you went to donkey town for the first time, but you have THREE hours to pay.
Seems suspicious, no?
I tried a game of just whistling for food. I nearly starved before getting my hands and then I had to speak to explain my issue.
Seems easy enough, Alot of mothers will spam feed you regardless of F.
In my case the moms starve me because I don’t speak.

AKA switching between /ill and /yoohoo with your arrow keys.I take babies who do this to the goose stump. Much better to use /sad, and /blush and even /hubba so your mum will like you. A loud kid is not wanted no thankyou.
I do think this can be done. I've met players who didn't talk and gotten on with them just fine...
Being vocal is a way to get attention and for someone to pick you up. I’ve been silent and died while doing /sad because no one wanted to pick me up.
No one? Just me?
A challenge I have for all of you: Don’t speak a single word in your lifetime ever.
Not even F.
Now that we have emotes that make sound, you could repeatedly use two different ones as an annoying alternative to ‘F’.

If you live to old age without a single word, link it here.
Extremely rude.
I wish curses could apply to a group of people rather than just one so people like you aren’t able to do shit like this.
oblong, give rp a chance!
Every time I have, I’m shut down or ignored because apparently I don’t do enough work. Most of my lives have been doing a lot of work without speaking.
There’s so much diversity with potatoes in reality.... Baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, loaded potatoes, fries, chips... hell, maybe even stuffing for turkey! I’ve done that before!
Perhaps you could peel potatoes with a knife or flint chips, then throw them in a crock... Stomping them and then cooking them over hot coals for some good ol’ mashed potatoes...
Maybe even slicing potatoes in a bowl or on a plate for potato slices you can eat bit by bit...
Though I guess we’re still in such a primitive state that all we can really do is... Bake them.
Having to use the shovel for each separate potato with each scoop having a chance to break the shovel is kinda bad. Why not give a better use to potatoes?
Maybe the diversity isn’t what Jason wants. Maybe food is too broken and fixing potatoes would make it even more broken.
What ideas would you like to see involving potatoes (other than bashing on them?)
Can’t wait for all the people doing /sick to me when I give RP even the slightest of chance.
Shit’s discouraging.
According to my mother, Emma Dupont, a member of the Good family found her and her sisters while they were nomads. The Good family member brought them to their town. Who knows why they were running away from the main lineage, maybe lack of resources or bad people there— Wherever they came from, their main line died off.
I wish lineages in some way could be able to connect after interacting with eachother other than murder, luckily an old woman let me stab her to connect the Dupont—Good lineage, both of them ending Gen 26-27.
The death of a town due to murder shows its weakest points and how long a civilization can live before someone or something interrupts the cycle.
I don’t really approve of this, but maybe some towns are better off over if it just takes one person to mess it up with a knife/bow and they can’t defend themselves, especially with the minute cooldown.
If I see serial killing occur, I just distance myself, especially if I’m a girl. This actually happened once: My aunt killing off every girl, running slightly away from town and thinking she’s slick. I snowballed her to death after I realized I was the final girl at age 5. That lineage would eventually go to Generation 40 or so...
I wanna do mine, but im on my phone at the moment, and cant figure it out on here
Same.
Eddie. You underestimate how much babies /die. Many, MANY players get removed from the pool. 7 children, 5 of which /die. That’s 5 people lineage banned. Then you’re born in a bigger town and would prefer early game. That’s more babies doing /die. EVES ARE HURT BY THIS ESPECIALLY IF THEY SETTLED NEARBY OTHER EVES OR TOWNS. It can range from 10-30+ people being banned in an area. Sure, we have ~100 or so people currently playing, but that’s the amount of people currently alive.
I rarely ever saw twin/trip/quad eve bypass. Sure you can do that in an early start but by the time you’re like 11 generations in the other lineages probably died off in discord, e.g. stabfest to keep a bloodline ‘pure’ or a kid dying because there’s too many people and now the lineage cannot be carried.
Eves are definitely punished by this.
Very most definitely. If you fall into the spiral where there’s more towns nearby, and heck, you gotta find that good spot (which moves you only closer to the existing town) it hurts your fertility. All of my Eve runs since the area ban update have been failures due to lack of fertility.
For roads to connect to cities that far, you would have to have dedicated generations and much, much more flat stones. Hell, some generations might not even tell others that a path is being worked on or even know the exact direction to the other town.
I very very much hate the area ban. If you still want it to exist, Eddie, at least make the ban not 2,000 tiles... That’s too much...
Tacos require a forge and limestones. Already kind of a downside. Burritos are slightly better. Tacos still seem like vanity or yum material.
It doesn't take more than a few seconds for a baby to die if not fed.
That gives the person time to try to get back as a girl before age 40.
Not hating on Oblong, but it is not the strategy I would have used.
It takes 20 or so seconds for a baby to die if not fed and cold, at least during all the times I ran off as a baby. I turned 39 soon after the boy was born. Starving him wouldn’t get rid of my cooldown. I asked him to /die to get rid of my cooldown. A fed kid at 1 or 2 years of age would starve to death slower than a newborn.
i tell you why i /die
because i am fed up with being a female in this game !
Then why not AFK/disconnect?
Fair enough but if you’re the last girl and I’m the only mom about to be 40, the lineage is dead. It bothers me when I take the time to set up a nice new place with my last name only for it to be for nothing. Run dead. Repeatedly. I can feed an AFK girl.
i hate when fuckers ask me to die just cause im a boy, especially if they got some girls going
that's just for their insecurities
and don't call people asshole for that
their choice
I let the boy live. I fed him. Then he ran a little away from camp, afked and died. That’s why I called him an asshole.
i hate it when people /die in general.
Performing /die in an overpopulated town is acceptable for me, especially if they can’t handle it. Less stress for that town. However, /die in a dying town (especially as a girl) is annoying.
This is starting to tick me off.
Here’s an example of girl babies dying of SID in an eve camp/early lineage that never took off.
It could have been good! It was a good area with plenty of soil, milkweed, rabbits and bananas nearby, and you could have easily done an iron trip if you went west.
But every girl (except one, who promptly also had a girl that /died) decided that they didn’t want to deal with an early camp or a low population.
You see that last boy I had? I kept begging for him to /die as I was 38 and about to be too old. But he didn’t. And then he ran off and starved himself at 3. That’s a major asshole right there. Since he didn’t die I’d assumed he’d help out but he just... Didn’t.
What if you’re not in an eve camp, but a dying civilization? I guess there are your reasons like “I want to live in a city next life!” or “I can’t handle it!” but if you’re born to a mother who says she needs you, why kill yourself?
I try not to name my kids Hope as they’ll probably hold a grudge on you for depending on them. I guess it isn’t their job... Which might also be why they /die. But c’mon, so many of my Eve camps could have taken off great if they just decided to AFK instead of /die.
Grateful seems like /joy.
How about a snoozing emote for em AFKs?
