antking:]# wrote:now it is literally on fire
For one, this happens every year in California, and elsewhere on Earth, if people don't like the state they can just geet out. Same for the planet.
For two, every home - nearly every home, on EARTH, has at least one fire burning in it to heat it's water, on top of that, every car, every business, every industry.... all burning wood, gas, coal and petroleum.
WE ARE ALWAYS ON FIRE AND ALWAYS WILL BE
Well yes I do know that California catches fire every year... (especially cause I live there) but that is expected especially if you see California's land scape, most of California are rolling hills, which are filled with dead grass for like 90% of the year, and the parts which aren't filled with grass are filled with thick evergreen forests that need to burn down to reproduce.
but the big problem is that these fires are getting bigger and bigger every year, the 2019 fires were bigger then the 2018 fires and so on, which I won't blame it on anything buuutttt... cough... Global Warming... cough cough
so maybe one day we will all need to stop burning wood, gas, coal and petroleum, so that they will stop burning us
Tell me about it, I swear, first the world was metaphorically on fire now it is literally on fire, lets hope our fire fighters can deal with all of this...
I don't think we will ever get a mega town the best we can hope for is that three race eves decide to settle in a triangle around a central well that would become a main water hub consuming oil, rubber and exporting water to those three main towns which all would need to support each other by providing food and materials
this system would IN theory work but their would be to many moving parts for something this complex to last unless thier were a constant flow of vets pumping and distributing water, operating sprinklers, paving roads, and mining oil
long time no post
glass is a two - three gen project the first gen needs to prepare for glass making aka making paper, making blow pipe, and if thier is time turning glass wart into soda ash
then it is the next gen job to find sand and lime stone and mix all the three ingredients together
but what is cool with glass is that the more glass you make the more you can produce, because you can hold more things in storage, instead of wasting 4 tiles and bowls holding soda ash you only need to use one tile and a bottle allowing you to store more material and inurn produce more when the time comes
so asphalt for cars and flat stones for a side walk
I think just being able to access one tech in game will help a lot, and overall a great update, can't wait to see what you have in store for us.... (opium poppies? beef? road makers?)
10/10 suggestions except I do believe that LOG cabins are made out of butt LOGS and not branches but I could be wrong
Don't give them toys, give them chance to compete with other babies.
Toy = competition
babies will fight for toys it they are available

I find the game play challenging, but as far as the graphics goes, I can see the pixels. Lag is a bitch.
once I had like 666 fps, trust me, isn't that good either, gets old real quick
The worst part has to be the patches, like the CV9 patch was absolutely terrible the entire meta had to change because of it
Yes, just got around to checking my email this morning. YIKES!
Why, oh why, after MONTHS of stability, do I have to program a crash during the Steam sale?
Fixing it now...
I think it might be the overload of info coming form cravings, as each person has thier own craving list and the game needs to override meh foods when you get your hands on a food you are craving
While this update won't include the long a waited for beef it brings new things to on the table, literally:
as now you can interact with objects placed on a table, some examples of this would be, using a knife to cut bread, filling a pie with a bowl, or putting beans on a stack of cooked tortillas, and then not needing to take the plate of burritos of the table to grab one, you might be saying Antking that is not useful, but it is as instead of needing three tiles with plates to make three pies you would only need one tile a table with three plates on it, this also applies to the lesser used lab table, which will make doing chemistry a lot faster
Now the next part of this update introduces us to cravings, a player will get a craving for a certain food giving you 2* the yum multiplier (example if you have a yum Multiplier of 8 and you eat a food you are craving it will jump to 10) however you might want to hold on your urges, as for every HOUR that passes this bones multiplier will go up by one (from 2 to 3 to 4) but you might be asking "Hay Antking this is ONE HOUR one life how is this craving growth important?" well it is quite simple if a mother has a craving for X and doesn't satisfy that craving all her childeren will all crave X so basically ever generation the craving will grow
an example of this being important is if a black fam, gets the craving for ice cream, and after 40 generations some ginger brings a bowl, their craving multiply would be through the roof
Now the final part of this update is some new food option... 5 new foods to be exact
- garlic shrimp 9*4 pips
- peppered shrimp 9*4 pips
- mutton with dry rub 8 pips
Personal opinion
Levels 7 of opinion: (please remove from the game, LOL, good but needs some work, OK, Fantastic, OHOL Life will never be the same)
being able to work on a table top / Fantastic
giving us more tiles to work on thing and making it easer to mass produce certain recipes
Craving/ Fantastic
Gives motivation for us to make food that are rarely used/seen (pickles, ice-cream , meat rub ext)
New foods/ OK
Also, I know this doesn't help non-English people....
But when you try to kill someone, instructions pop up on the screen explaining how many allies and enemies the person has, and how big the posse needs to be. And your character speaks information about who can exile that person, and you get an arrow pointing to that leader.
So it's not like these mechanics are totally hidden or need to be memorized.
I just noticed that once someone is sufficiently exiled to be solo killed, there's no explanation given to the killer letting them know that solo killing this target is possible. I'll fix that with a DING message explaining the situation.
I don't know much about code but would it be possible to create a program that would translate things in game? such as being able to choose a language and then in game seeing that language
TheRubyCart wrote:fug wrote:It's much better for each lineage to have the same colored leader so they can communicate properly and can make sure someone at home can deal with exiling trouble makers.
The worst thing you can do is give leadership to goof balls or "unite" families under one leader as you can't be in two places at once.
I wonder why I didn't do this with two families that were closer, like the last two gingers and brown families who even babies could travel too *sigh* we need more closer families united, then it MAY work
Implying having to run back and forth constantly to settle issues would work.
You're a goof ass.
It could work if they had one overall leader, and then some local leaders
being that everyone in one village, would follow the local leader and that local leader would follow the overall leader, then it could work, as he local leader will be what a leader is now, while the overall leader would be the one to keep the local leaders in check
and to prevent the overall leader for become to corrupt we would need a leader above the overall leader, the Jason
but all of this would take a lot of coordination and trust that the overall leader isn't a tyrant, so it can only work on paper
So next question: how do I join?
Well Now I am going to need to start checking Github more, and I never knew they're was a Design Club... that's neat
Corn gives better quality foods
Wheat gives easy to produce foods
Where do you get your intel from?
I ask because you always seam to know what is going to happen before it happens, a very recreant example being the new craving system that is coming out, everyone was wondering what it was about while you already knew.
where do you find these things, and are you by any chance in cahoots with Jason?
(well time to see if fug actually sees this post )
And let's be serious here ... in what way does adding pickling cucumbers to the game "balance" anything? It is a novelty food.
well cucumbers have become the tomatoes of any none brown skin, a tomato meaning that it is used in very few recipes that are usually not made, but people still grow them for their yum value
but the biggest part of the pickle update was all the new crops that were introduced that have no sensible value to be grown now (dill, garlic, & peppercorns) but might become more important in the future
If you have played OHOL in the past 10 hours since this post then you have probably born in one of these two fams a ginger and a brown fam living so close they might as well be together, the gingers live to the west side while the browns live to the east, the browns (Mias) were here before the Gingers (Summers) each town has had its hard ship I went through the great water shortage, which left only one females of the Mia's alive, I have seen the blood feweds between the two towns as they bicker of silly things, but both these towns are the wealthiest and the most interesting fams I have seen in a while. I is fun going from village to village seeing how things are going on the other side, sadly I fear that our time with both fams are drawing to a close, as a bobo raid has left a deep scar in the Summer fam and Water troubles are rising once again in the Mia fam, I do hope that this won't be the end of these two shining cities in this cold world
(on a side note if pls don't mix in your pickle plants with farming crops... make a small 3*3 patch with 3 spots with dill, one spot with Bay tree, one spot for garlic and 4 spots for pickles that should give you exactly enough for two crocks of pickles and if you are lucky enough you can switch out one of the pickle spots for a peppercorn spot)
Ha great update, regarding garlic do you think that we could get a garlic garland? so we can wear it on out head and scare away the vampires?
just a pile of garlic+ string = a hat for the town's pickle chef to wear
but it is also really cool that you already made most things stackable
People should start living together again
and fighting again
all the drama was nice ;-;
dont't worry the next update will bring new things to have drama about...
Dill, Garlic, and Cucumbers nothing like those to spur on the drama train

Low effort

Don't worry I get all my vitamin D through my computer screen, grinding my gene score in OHOL
