A lot of players think grievers are mentally ill-- but in reality they're bored children. LUCKILY school is starting and honestly that's going to hurt the griefer community the most.
Last night- on the long long road- 2 cursed players went around taking out all the towns- and then head up north to the bell tower to take out those towns. On a week-night- this was quite sad as the total sever population was quite low. Finally my new mother killed Lorne Moist (btw- you suck Lorne, I sincerely hope you're hella depressed this morning, because you deserve the misery.)
Honestly- this was straight-up sad. Later last night- after the grievers had their way with sever 1- I was all eve and no real connection to the road. I was sad and scared it'll all disappear thanks to grievers disconnecting players from the major towns.
So how about- if in a single life time, if 5-10 players curse you- you are warped (in that life +) a very serious distance away from any recent spawn points- and that 'exile' lasts for 24 non-game hours or like 2-5 life times or something.
Like it's one thing to collect 10 curses over several hours- but to accomplish this in a single life time, I think should have heavier consequences.
how about- if you hit a certain grief point in curses or in killing-- you're character will be forced into a mushroom reality for several hours.
This means you wont be able to see what's the knife or what's food- and effectively make further grieving a REAL task.
To organize is to take control.
To say you are the rule maker because you are apart of WHS- is inherently becoming the rule marker-- ie the person in charge.
And then you say you need to also pacify a rebellion?? against, what, your set of rules?
Detest Monarchy but you become a monarch???
I haven't got a chance to play yet, Heard it was bugged anyway. Wonder if it would be worth writing down some crafting recipes for future generations. Lots of new players need teaching and alot of people don't have the time or patience.

Notes are cool, but to stack dishes is cause for celebration
Ya'll do yourselves a favor by reminding yourself this is a game- and if you aren't having fun play something else.
It's clear here there are two-sides being taken here. I am not to worried because you kill two players, you're red flagging yourself as a griefer as noted above so.
Also let's remember that mental health issues has zero connection with griefing. People with mental health issues are actually more likely to NOT grief because they really would have more fun being accepted than outcasted in-game. Yes some griefers have anger problems-- but most of them in this game and beyond are just bored! It's getting to be about that time kids are just about all in school- and Jason isn't going to update much- so they're bored and they grief. Really, play a different game if you're bored guys.
Pharo- you know what, you're an amazing asshole. It's incredible. Nuances to situations go right over your head, and your version of truth is the only truth, everyone else just can't possibly have a good time.
Like I'm honestly thankful you play this game- not because of your nazi-level stance against 'griefers' but your ability to control the situation -- why the historical and political nuance you introduce but wont even understand will be up their in satisfaction.
But hey, if you go all nazi on my clan, I'll rise up against you. Your sway is limited by those who question those who demand power.
So, by definition: we are not fascists.
However, also by definiton,
Auner and hihibanana are demonstratively misguided.Congratulations.
Lol thank you for the dictionary. Yah you need a dictator to have fascism, and applying that word imperfectly to game play you are the dictator who "uses forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy." - Wiki's sum of Fascism
The metaphor isn't perfect, it's just what's there for the circumstances of how you are in the game on griefers. Like working for the civiliazation would be working towards teh 'society and of the economy' and having a direct desire to kill that which does not adhere to making the society tick- well it's really NOT that bad of a metaphor. It's just not a true cross over.
Yah you guys are crazy. I find this all interesting because of it's relationship to the word 'genocide'.
If someone is working hard and stops-- you give them the benefit of the doutb. Many times, my cat pukes/knocks over water/laundry must be retrieved to avoid getting dumped on the floor.
To kill someone over for possibly just going AFK and will come back and work is -insane-
Also- that's going to limit new players- because if you fuck something up really hard- you might get called a griefer-- so you just sit and do nothing and get called a griefer.
You guys are facists "WORK FOR THE SYSTEM OR I'LL KILL YOU!" honestly it's good to allow players to relax, make up folklore and have a story-line to the game play.
Honestly it's stupid. It's likely to only get used for a few life times- and then be a waste. Grievers abuse locks.
To keep stuff at bay it's far easier to hide it in the trees.
Yah I've been seeing this mentality too.
Like I was born in a town with a lot of spare clothes and backpack. Trying to signal "Put this backpack on me" by clicking on it- they tell me to not hump clothes ??
Also as long as you dont hump other players- have fun being ridiculous! I personally took up humping a goose and then had a baby and declared him the goose the father. My children were amendment on protecting their dad, the grand kids were introduced- and i spent my last few moments alone with father goose just holding each other until my death. Everyone was happy we were able to spend quality time together. Like- it really doesn't take much extra thought to make it more ridiculous than disturbing. It is a video game. Like it's one thing if they're humping all the things- but it's another story if they're in love with commitment!
Watch behaviors of people, if not changey ways or story-line line, consider cursing/killing 'em.
So many teenagers. Gah.
Jason is there anyway to-- ask for the credit card holder's email, and if they get cursed a bunch of times have an automatic email send to the account claiming "Your behavior has been noted on our systems" stating that other players have reported bad behavior in-game. Atleast THIS way you can tell their mama.
I think lineage ban might be different now- I've returned to my previous life's community before- saw my own kid grow up :'). Glad it's no more if if that's the case.
Thank you so much for the data! i love this thread.
ALL FEAR THE NEW MOON!!!! hahhahaha
Also I can't help myself
"I THOUGHT I SAW YOU TRY"
"LOSING MY RELIGION!!!!"
Wow you know- Temple development-- or a place of worship is a pretty interesting/intriguing idea--- it could condone to more folklore and mythology.
As stated in the stop grief thread- I do think it's really important to not try to represent anyone's religion- not only would it piss off people, but it would make players feel preached to.
While weed as a religion is funny--- It could be kind of seen as an attempt to represent Rastafarianism. While I think it's totally fine if a village of people want to call it the weed religion, the Jesus Religion, Buddhism- WHATEVER-- as long as the implementation of such does not suggest in-game what direction society should go and zero help in giving anyone a clue XD
Glorious, thank you for this! Bump!
Well, the complexity was kind of part of it, but it's easy to simplify things. I tend to present the most complex version I have, let the devs simplify if they want.
*sigh* look- just some general advice to life- no one on this earth needs help over-thinking things.
The world needs people who can solve problems simply instead of making them more complicated by over thinking it.
Please do the world a favor and practice simplification, you could actually use your brain smarts and make a difference if you did that.
The best advise I've ever gotten in life was from a professor- who said "Writing the rough draft will shape the future of the project"--- and it's truth. No one will listen to you if your thoughts are so complex it limits possible inspiration for growing the idea in another. 'Final drafts' are only created by one person if you are in school.
Along the lines of the monarch, exorcism is performed by priests, or whatever. I'm from a christian background so my example will refer to that kind of stuff because that's what I'm familiar with, but the system could be whatever. Shamanistic, egyptian, whatever. So ya, similar to monarch, you have a priest. This priest distributes blessings of some sort on the flock. Holy water, or wafers, special food, whatever.
I'm glad someone else is thinking about introducing a 'healer' role in the game- honestly it would be a role I would love to play.
However it should be noted that--- if you try to represent anyone's religion- Christian or Shamanic-- you'll really piss them off. Therefore I say it should be something that stands out in a crowd using color- A natural Jade color or a purple color would help the person stand out- gives out the whole "I am the chosen one vibe" which then adheres more to the practical ability of FINDING the person playing that role than it is about conveying a particular set of beliefs.
& hopefully that' will invite folklore amoung the people - even naming the role will have an enormous sway in things. So it'd almost be wise to call it like "The Adorned" (as in directly referring to being adorned with the item) just to ensure people don't feel preached to.
As for everything else- I like your thoughts- but is there anyway you could maybe re-think them to be more newb-friendly and easier to implement?
I remember in it's first week of launch, I only saw a backpack once for about 3 lives and wondered what it was.
When you're standing so you cover the water >.>
To be honest, I really like the curse system, in that it puts the decision of who to curse in the hands of the players. It being limited to an hour of game play forces the person cursing the individual to be wise about their decisions.
I honestly haven't seen sheep mentality hit over 3-4 people in a village, most players seem to wait til they see it for themselves or are killed. Generally, good people can make good decisions- and we have a lot of good people that play this game (give or take some of you on these forums lol)
So here's a crazy idea Why not have a crafted-wearable item which if worn, you cannot pick up a knife or weapon- or carts, nor can you wear a backpack! It forces the player to give up power in the game-- and in return you become what would be akin to a 'medicine man' in tribal times. This 'medicine man' power would allow the player wearing said item would be-able to heal.
Now, not being a fan of 'honky-dory' endings all the time- so maybe putting a catch in of a cool-down time in how often you can use the ability.
There should be a note-able relationship with this item and weapons- if you have even touched a knife or a bow in your in-game-life, you cannot pick up the +healing item. And if you once held/wore the item, but then picked up a weapon--- both scenarios will render you 10 curses worth of shade.
The item could be a jade crown or a highly detailed cape of some sort or something on the blue or purple shade to make it really stand out
On a horse I foudna rough guide was 1k every 3 minutes
so about 20k in 60 min?
