Ah yes just grabbing a cart full of basket with pouches while also having a backpack with 3 pouches and a pie.
And youd have to go on a quest to fill all 15 pouches with water cause the ponds nearby were nearly dry!
Here are some quotes out of the rules section of the discord made by jason himself.
"My idea here generally is "as little moderation as possible"
And then, when it has to be done, "With as little drama as possible."
The mods are currently instructed to NOT explain a timeout
A TO is a slap on the wrist meant to simply end the current situation. A de-escalation.
So they don't need to dig into a fight with you , or waste time warning you. The TO is the warning. It's up to you to figure out why."
"And of course, if you find yourself in TO over and over, you might start to suspect that more than one mod has become aware of your behavior, and that they've probably been wasting too much time on you. That means that a ban is probably forthcoming, if you don't really adjust your course."
You also weren't banned for your behaviour in the street, but for the 3 time-outs you managed to get in 15min after already having collected 3 more over the last couple of days.
I hope everyone can see now why we don't and never will have an option for a male to 'interact' with a female.

At first I liked this idea, but I don't think it is in line with what Jason wants. You can do just as much damage to his name and reputation with a non commercial product as you can with a commercial product. Maybe even more so since free content can reach a larger audience.
Another example: say I put ads on onetech to cover hosting costs (which I don't plan to do), would it suddenly become a commercial product since I'm getting money from it? Probably so. Does it effect Jason differently? Probably not.
Here is a bit from the creative common wiki that defines what falls under NC protection:
"NonCommercial is expressly defined as follows:
“NonCommercial means not primarily intended for or directed towards commercial advantage or monetary compensation.”
The definition is intent-based and intentionally flexible in recognition of the many possible factual situations and business models that may exist now or develop later. Clear-cut rules exist even though there may be gray areas, and debates have ensued over its interpretation. In practice, the number of actual conflicts between licensors and licensees over its meaning appear to be few. [1]"
In my opinion running adds to cover costs would not be the same as trying to get a comercial advantage. But this is yet again vague and has grey areas. Which is why for cases where money is involved you should contact jason so that he can still license it comercially when he is okay with the product.
Here is another quote from the creative common wiki.
NonCommercial licenses are non-exclusive.
Like all CC licenses, the NC licenses are non-exclusive. This means that an NC licensor is free to offer the material under other terms, including on commercial terms. A frequently discussed use case for the NC licenses is a creator who wishes to allow NonCommercial use but also authorizes commercial uses in exchange for payment. (Additional permissions such as this may always be offered; licensors may also use our CC+ protocol to offer these in a standardized manner.) Also, licensees are always free to contact licensors to ask permission to use the work for commercial purposes.
For a given work, permitted NC uses may still be restricted due to non-copyright rights.
Even if a use is NonCommercial for purposes of the CC license, it may still not be permitted because of other rights that prevent that particular use of the work. For example, a use that is otherwise NonCommercial could violate the publicity or personality rights of an individual featured in the work."

Both Ryan and Eddie have a valid point. A license agreement is not something that should be open for interpretation. Esspecially when people from all over the world want to use your work.
I also don't really see why you dont just use a non comercial license. Artists/Fans would be able to do stuff without aprovall and the others would have to email you.
You should let the people who created Don't Starve know about this. I hate these kinds of half-assed games. Some of the time you buy one by mistake when someone tells you about a great game and you don't remember the exact name. Then it's something hacked together and hardly playable.
That happened to me with a puzzle game a few years back and now I do more research.
The Don't starve Devs are aware.
I mean at this point can we still say the Chinese publisher is making mistakes?? How many did they make in a row now 3-4??
Seems you found yourself a bit of a shady partner Chris
Edit: Oh hey, Jason also blamed the publisher while I was reading your story and writing my response. Didnt read jasons post before I posted mine
He is obviously using his coat as a float Jason.... incase he falls into the goose pond. He just cant swim.
In all seriousness. I do wonder if duel decade did a tiny bit of research on the type of people they went into business in. Seems the "accidents" keep pilling on....
Even with Jason taking a step back I do hope you have the decency to fix this situation and atleast come up with some sort of name change.
At the moment if I knew nothing about the game and logged into the app store I would see "One hour one life for mobile, by dual decade". It is clear as day where the confusion is coming from. How are you supossed to know that its an unofficial port from reading that. Don't tell me that nobody on your team is up to date with the attention span of most common users when reading description.(They simply don't unless they have a compelling reason)
It's not about the money to him, It's not about the annoying bug reports. He seems genuinely hurt that allot of people believe that his handcrafted work was made by you! Just pointing it out because I'm not sure wether you are not seeing that or activily dancing around it.
Any way Jason has tried everything in his power(maybe even more than he should have) to save what he sees as his legacy. Like I said before if you hold the love for jason that you say you do you will honor his request, Otherwise it seems it were just just empty word. Nobody would want to hurt the person they love.
If we take a step back from the emotions involved I think that "Mobile OHOL mod" for the name is a pretty fair offer and a good compromise that both parties can/should be pleased with.
but for me to call it that im also counting on a clear explanation in the first rows of the description on how it isnt made with any involvement of the original creator. A splash screen seems nice but the previous one I've seen is was in my opinion not clear enough to read in 2 sec. Maybe you could fix this by making the players have to manually close the first time they launch the app.
I don't see how putting the same text explaining how it is an unofficial port in the family tree browser would do anything but make the app less neat. But maybe a little info button could be added there or in the menus so that people who go looking for info to report a bug press it and get a little pop up explaining everything.
You both seem to agree that there is allot of confusion and Chris the ball is mostly in your court when it comes to fixing it. Jason I can see why you are hesitant to give a little bit of wiggle room. But you gave to much wiggle room in the past and now you are paying the price. I personally recommend you cut some of your losses (how awfull that may sound) and come to a compromise while this is all still in good faith.
Anyway what do I know, I'm just a blunt Dutch guy giving his 2 cents.
Edit: I forgot to add that I should also be abundantly clear that mobile is being played on different servers.
As bendi already brought up every minute ingame equals 1 year in real time. This is why the game doesnt have seasons(Which would last 15 seconds each) or day/night cycles(You do the calculations on how long it would be dark for)
We've had holy wars of the 1 carroters vs carrot farmers with different believes. in the end jason ended the holy war by making carrot seeding use up soil. which decimated the 1 carroters
Yeah I always let myself starve from 54+ and I know for a fact many others do it on purpose aswell.
your barely usefull and a huge food drain past 54. Its selfish to just keep eating in my eyes.
I remember in it's first week of launch, I only saw a backpack once for about 3 lives and wondered what it was.
Ah the mystery of the backpacks and clothing. you would finally find someone that had it, but then when you asked how to make it theyd be like I dont know dude I just found it.
Seeing the first floors and carts was also magical and carts were an even bigger mystery
wow you actually fooled me for a sec XD
1. Twin up while one person needs to do the tutorial
2. get spawned in the tutorial as twins.
3. get babies in the tutorial that are not even related to you.
So guys/girls, Right now we are at the point where both of you have been able to vent your frustrations. I most certainly do not agree with the language used in it and would like both of you guys to leave this behind before it escalates any further.
Please remember that you are talking about a game. We all know this can be a frustrating environment, But I would ask you that next time you are this frustrated you take a step back, relax and enjoy something else before attacking other players.
things never get reported by 5+ people, as a matter of fact some post dont even get reported at all.
I use "XD" and "Lol" all the time and Im a 21 year old dude. When using text chat it can sometimes be hard to see what the intend behind a certain comment is. A quick "XD" "Lol" or any other smiley can fix that problem.
Otherwise ill seem like a sarcastic asholle.
I think the intended use for horses was to move inbetween/trade with other settlements, who would have a fence kit already placed for you. I don't think they were ever meant to be used for gathering resources.
Let me start by saying that im not posting this as a moderator, but as a normal member that has been on the internet for quite some time now.
As some of you might have noticed the forums have turned in to quite a hostile and argumentetive place. This place started as a place where people would discuss rules for survival and share their experiences in the game with each other. The most responded to threads nowadays are those that brag about griefing or the ones talking down on other players, Instead of the positive threads that are still around.
So what can we do?
Well its simple when something is split into 2 sides the side that you give your attention to will always win, So instead of responding to the baity "Hey look at me im a griefer thread" just ignore them and move on. You are never gonna change their mind and your response is what they are after. By responding to it they have already won. And if you ignore them long enough their post will fade into nothingness instead of hanging somewhere near the top.
I really hope everyone stops and thinks about this for a second before every troll decides its an easy way to get attention and the forum becomes uninhabitable.
just my 2 cents,
Jord
Come on guys and girls, Don't look at me as mod but as a normal person when I say stop giving these threads the replies they are craving for. Let him post his version of events and move on. don't drag out this millionth "Hey Im a griefer now give me attention" thread.
First off all let me say that this escalated way to far.
Like Alleria admitted he went to far in saying what he said and from what I understand he already appologized for it, Jason doesn't believe in heavy moderation and believes that humans are capable of figuring out how to deal with each other on their own. Joriom has quoted this to you before me but I will quote it again.
Directly from the discord rules made by jason.
"And remember, every individual member her has the power to block other members at will.
Most of the time, that power is all that is needed to deal with annoying or disruptive people.
Only the most egregious case transcend to the point where banning should be considered."
You were sharing your controversial opinion / Talking about how you destroyed someones hours of work, This as you might expect cause people to share their own opinions on what you have done. I WILL STATE AGAIN: yes Alleria went to far and he admitted it.
However at any point you could've de-escalated the situation by either ignoring Alleria or blocking him. You did not do this and instead kept going egging him on and kept trying to provoke him more and more. After some more provocation you gathered all your screenshots and instead of taking them to a Mod, Jason or the Discord help channel you decide to air the dirty laundry on the forums to escalate the situation even further.
After you made this post you do go into the discord help channel and get help from 2 mods, UncleGus and Joriom. Both of them talked to Alleria and got the same appology from Alleria saying he went to far. At this point Joriom quotes the rules and asks you guys to either shake hands and make up or to just block each other to avoid this in the future. That is when you decide to insult Joriom by telling him "If it did not come from you personally I would agree".
https://imgur.com/a/rAVkpw2
And ending it by saying "Discord is closed group" Joriom decides not to escalate and tells you that you can always ask one of the other mods, So here I am.
Now where does this leave us / TLDR
Alleria was wrong and he admitted , You were wrong for further provoking the situation and escalating it even further.
End result everyone is still alive, breathing and hopefully healthy and jason has an extra Email to read that couldve easily been resolved before this issue ever reached him.
