It's good practice, but again you start fresh every time so you can never practice more than the basic tasks before dying.

No you don't Sir ! If you die at old age as eve you respawn near your last body. That way you can practise and get all the time you need.

But you HAVE TO die from old age. So at some point you may die from other cause. But well, you can try to find your old town back. Or find a new one. Or go on a server without nobody so you can reach your home from their.

I manually checked the life logs and found that Spoonwood hasn't played the game since January 31st, at least on bigserver2 (no way am I checking all low pop servers that'll take way too long). He doesn't appear in the life logs after that date.

Ok but who cares ?

The reality is that the [public] low-pop servers are a vestigial edge case. They are there with hopes and dreams of this game ever getting popular enough to fill them all (3000 simultaneous players, or whatever it would take). They are not there to serve as a low-pop experience. They should probably be removed to save money (and will eventually, long term), but for now, they are cheap enough to keep around. Also, because the dream of 3000 players isn't dead just yet.

Guess that’s checkmate guys. You can’t use the other servers like that, because Jason didn’t intend them to be used that way.

Lol. Who said that ? They are not meant so serve as, but for now, it doesn't harm any one to use them.
Checkmate you said ?
Well, maybe you should learn chess a bit more wink

Thank you.  As a total noob, this is very helpful.

Also, I think many new players probably don't use the tutorial map to learn all that they can.  I didn't realize at first that it was possible to forge an axe and a shovel to escape from the tutorial walls.

With great respect, the issues of interest to veterans are far beyond my noobie concerns at the moment.

May I suggest that something like this post be made a "sticky" at the top of the Main Forum?

I think that the first thing to do when you first find a tar spot and run it is ... finding another tarr spot. IN this case, you will never run out of water or oil obviously.
On low pop server, it's quite easy. On normal game, you have to make maybe 2 or 3 map to it, to ensure that people will finally find it. And destroy the map as soon as the tarr spot is empty.

You continue to play on words, kiddo.
Too bad you didn't read and write the second sentence !
I guess it's your sausage way of thinking you love so much.

#62 Re: Main Forum » Iron Math » 2020-04-06 12:49:01

11 is an estimated number:

onetech said :

Number of uses: 5
Chance to use: 40% (last use is 100%)

--

So what I understand is that you have 40% each time to really use it (for the fourth first time).

So the min should be 5 (3% chance if i'm correct) the max is 999999999.

#63 Re: Main Forum » Iron Math » 2020-04-06 12:40:19

Hi,

According to : https://onetech.info/2308-Oil-Pumpjack

The estimated use is 11. I don't know if it's correct.

Regarding the number of pipes needed to start it, it seems that you have 20% each time to hit oil, and 80% to fail. So in theory, it could be really long. Again, if we llok at onetech. I don't think that using wiki is relevant, since the game change quickly.

Cheers,

Yes spoongebob, just continue to play on words like a 5 years old, it suit you well.

You can't compare how real life works and how a game works. It doesn't make any sense to say that if this happens irl then it should happen that way in game. So you mix them. And you continue to be dishonest and un-logic.
At this point, whatever you can say, you have be beaten on the logic field but you are too proud (or too stupid ?) to admit it.

Farewell in your fantasy mind.

By the way, sorry Morti, we have butchered your nice thread :'(

#66 Re: Main Forum » A Subject Name Relevant To The Game » 2020-04-06 02:51:49

@Spoon : You continue to mix real life and game, making reference to real life when it's about game mechanics, Spoonge. At this point, you are just dishonest in exchanging argument, It doesn't make sense or interest me whatsoever.

@Legs :

Are there people that spend their life chopping down trees? Yes. Do we strictly NEED them to chop down a given tree? No. You can do it yourself if you want to and you know how. Same thing with baking. Bakers exist, sure. They're great when you just want some bread and don't want to bake. That doesn't mean you need to make a lifetime commitment to bake something yourself. Do farmers exist? Yes, obviously. So do home gardens. Etc.

Please don't make reference to real life. It doesn't make any sense.

Regarding the game mechanics now, you are right : you don't need anyone to chop down a given tree. You can do it once wink
For the farming, you can plant whatever you like in this game, it will not cost you anything.

You can even, Bake, Chop tree, and still have 3 slots left. It's not if you got only one slot each life.

The point is that it should only be a commitment if you choose to make it one. If you want to be a farmer or a baker or a lumberjack: great! If you just want to do something a few times, that's great too. There's no reason that we should be forced to use our time in a way we don't want to. That's a hamfisted and unrealistic mechanic trying to push people into committing to things when they don't necessarily want to. It's stupid and misguided from the very start, and the only way to tolerate it is by grinding enough score that the system no longer affects you.

Again, in One hour one life you can Farm, bake and be a lumberjack if you like. In a single life. So... Yeah.

#67 Re: Main Forum » A Subject Name Relevant To The Game » 2020-04-05 22:00:27

@Legs

But how many of them did an engine by themselves only ?
0,1 % ? Maybe less, maybe no one. Or, they can be the fittest, with a lot of tools slots.

So I we follow your road about LIFE = GAME, maybe it should be impossible for someone to do an engine by himself in game, right ?

Or this other one : you don't tame a horse by giving him a carrot in real life, so maybe we should'n t be able to do it in game, right ?
Or this other one : you can't ride a horse like a pro just because it got a saddle, so maybe we should'nt be able to ride a horse. Or it should use a tool slot, right ? Like an ability.

Anyway, don't mix real life and game mechanics, it doesn't make any sense.

#68 Re: Main Forum » Stacks of Objects Got Added... » 2020-04-05 21:36:07

Oh you did change the title after my complain. Nice job.

Content is something, game mechanics are another things. Both are important in a game.

I don't like the fetching, but it's a step to something else : I'm patient and like the game as it is. It has globally evolve to somethings that is good, step by step. When rift comes out I wasn't satisfied and quit for some month until it was removed.

#69 Re: Main Forum » A Subject Name Relevant To The Game » 2020-04-05 21:29:48

You change the point I was pointing out when you first said : "People don't play games to feel like they are less capable than they are in real life."
So don't use it as a starting point of arguing if then you change the angle. Now your talking about people being there and low pop server. Like if it can make any sense outside of a game.

Instead of stating that you were wrong you just change subject. So yeah, we can't move on with this, do you understand ?

For instance :
In real life, you don't become bones instantly when your die.
Therefore this game suck.

Games have nothing to do with real life. You don't like a game, just don't play it, no one is forcing you.

So for your new shitty point I could said things like :
In real life, you need someone to help you out to make an engine. You can't do it all by yourself.
In real life, you can't be a high level sportsman, a high level scientist, a politician and a baker.

Anyway, limitations in this game are there to make cooperation a thing, do you got that ?

You just don't like an update, we got it. But arguing like you do is bullshit. And when you are obviously wrong, you just change the subject.

Yep.
And I'm sure you can make an engine in real life.

#71 Re: Main Forum » A Subject Name Relevant To The Game » 2020-04-05 20:49:39

Guess what, reality is different from a game !
Amazing right ?

#72 Re: Main Forum » Stacks of Objects Got Added... » 2020-04-05 20:47:58

Can Spoonwood be ban from forum please ?

He doesn't bring anything at all to the game or to the forum, he's just bitching like a 5 years old kiddo in every single post.

/edit
He did edit the title and his post, then.

#73 Re: Main Forum » Managing Chaos - Fighting Boredom » 2020-04-05 17:58:15

@Morti

When temp reach perfect point, just stab any ginger you meet or anyone attempting to build an engine.
