Who gives a f..... If you want to just kill and act like a moron go play call of duty. Leave challenging games to the rest of us
This doesn't summarize the update. Why in the world have I learned about the update from OneTech and not at all in this post?
#amen
I wish they would have triggered it last night and fixed that hot ass server mess
Oh, sry for that lel
I've never met one of my victims before, feels odd. It was fun though, I'd even say you won our skirmish since you hid 3 blocks.
Lmao, it's okay. I've never met my killer lol. I actually hid six lol
I love this crazy ass game
That was me ?????? lol!
Issa joke.... Calm down.
Jason needs to fix these servers bad. The game's unplayable like last time. Players are freaking out in game lol
When i'm born into your town beware.... i will say:
"I"
"m"
"A"
"K"
"I"
"L"
"L"
"E"
"R"Don't let me live
Ill kill you all
Git gud
Wipe the Speed family out! ???
Agree 1000%. This game is going to shit. I barely play anymore and I miss it so much. We have fucking cars and radios but they're useless right now. We need base game content! Like the suggestion about pork and beef, clothes etc. Everything still disappears though so wtf is the point anyway
........
..-. ..- -.-. -.- .. -. --. ..- ... . .-.. . ... ...
Such bs
An additional benefit is that unavoidable "nocturnal infertility" will be less harsh; servers will share that load equally.
Jason's also plowed through weeks worth of user-reported issues with this update.
Among those fixes, I want to share my favorite deliberate non-update from this week:

That happened to me!! I had to restart the whole game lol. I took photos lol. Peoples smiles were dead lambs!!
Another reason I like this idea:
So you think your society is thriving and all is well right? Well how good is it going really if there's someone around who succeeds at building the bomb that will destroy it all. That's like being really proud that your built a garden in your backyard, and meanwhile global warming is 10 seconds away from flooding your entire city.
I've yet to see any notifications of anyone working toward the apocalypse, but when that happens, and our society does not choose to react because we're too busy baking pies, I think that says something quite meaningful.
We walk around with the delusion that our society works because it's been around for a few hundred years. Well, what if our confidence is entirely unearned?
I've seen several live nosaj :'(

Let us find the old places and remember old stories etc. Tell our babies about "that one life" while we're raising them. Ugh. Most amazing addictive game ever is being ruined... Maybe he's tired of it? Hire a team Jason! Up the tech tree, stop killing us off and let us grow, damn!
Wow. Maybe a bit extreme.
Maybe! But I love this game, I don't want it getting destroyed.. Most people are unhappy, not just me, I just have a big mouth.
He made something so amazing and different, now it's just a hot f*ing mess!
Agreed. This new update is fucking bullshit. I'm so angry I haven't even touched the game. The world is so big! Why not leave our old relics alone?? I've said it once and I'll say it again. This game is being ruined for me. It's already gotten so damn hard to play as a successful Eve that the game is barely fun anymore, it's stress stress stress. Instead of introducing "magic" that you said you wouldn't do (Christmas update) and giving us all yet another way to just kill each other, focus on the damn tech tree! People grief when they're bored! We're bored because in cities there's nothing more to do!
Give us glass to make windows, tornados (since you can't do weather) so we have to take shelter giving a purpose to houses. Give us new crops, fruit trees, recipes, clothing, harsher biomes, wild dangerous animals that destroy crops.
A day/night cycle that forces us to make candles out of beeswax or torches, kerosene lamps in more advanced cities. Packs of animals that ravage the food at night (bears, hyenas etc).
Overall health not just hunger and temp. We have to bathe to stave off disease and illness. If someone kills a player, let there be an increased chance they get a blood born pathogen that required medical care.
Bug nets for mosquitos. Locust swarms. Overnight freezes that kill anyone who doesn't take shelter whether it be an Eve "tent" or a huge heated castle". The freeze cracks roads forcing repair. Just darken the screen and introduce watches or sun dials. We have cars but still no water irrigation, mosquito repellent made with herbs..... Cooking fire pits....a real use for buildings? -_-
Come on man..... All the effort (if any) it takes to do this shit that ruins everything we spend countless hours of our real lives on, could actually be spent on giving us what we all paid for! A game to work to build empires! To leave a family legacy, to work together, fight griefers, advance, fail on our own (happens alllll the time anyway, I don't know why you think you need to aide it by wiping all our progress away)....
A damn milkweed seed or rabbit needle, God forsaken 4 Flint chips a node aka CLUTTER lasts longer than our steel tools we bust our asses off making. Fix that! If a place hasn't been seen in 24 real life hours, automatically wipe that section, not the whole damn world. It just sucks! Do you even play your own game anymore?
Sorry to come off aggressive, I just adore this game and I want it to get better, not worse I've logged almost 500 hours since the steam launch alone, probably 1-200 before that. PLEASE! Just actually work on the game, don't rehash old shit you know people hate. Get that tech tree rolling!!
is this really an issue though? There's not really such thing as an "infinitown" atm, because no town lasts forever. You're complaining and worrying about eves abusing the respawn function in order to have a town last forever- but right now, the longest a town tends to last is maybe.. 2-3 weeks at best. And a lineage, even one in such a town where they've got pretty much everything, rarely lasts beyond mid-20's.
Is this really a bad thing, or something to worry over? Such towns are novelties atm. There's rarely more than one or two known ones at any given time, and they don't last "infinitely" like you claim. Sure, in theory they could. But they don't. They never have and they never will. The eves get bored, or stop eve running, or eventually break their eve spawn chain. The city dies. Everyone moves on. But the memories it made live on.
There's also the novelty of being born into such a giant town. A massive, sprawling city, with outpost towns dotted around for miles, roads connecting it all, labelled and organized farms, even libraries. A lot of people don't like big city life. Even I'm not a huge fan of it. But the excitement of being born into a big town on occasion, one you recognize and had heard of before ever going there- it's a very fun break from the constant string of eve-camps and early towns you're usually stuck with!
I lived a couple lives in Goosetown before it died out. It was so exciting! I remember spending an entire life trying to teleport a child into the room so that they could unlock the door from the inside, as someone had blocked the outside with boxes. I remember exploring the road from end to end, ranging through the wilderness and stumbling upon forgotten outposts. I remember paying homage to our undying goose stump, and reading stories of past families in the library.
You're looking to take that away, for what? It might not be what you intended, but it's not like people are complaining. On the contrary, these rare and large towns are usually looked upon with excitement! There's a sense of pride and accomplishment in having a town go so far. A vast, VAST majority of eve camps simply die. We might reach gen 20, get sheep and compost and a decent forge and a small bakery. But it dies. They always do. And in most cases, that's the end.
But for the occasional town to outlive its first lineage, to grow and prosper.. that's a bad thing? It isn't in my eyes. Especially now that you have the option to lineage ban yourself from unfavorable scenarios. Everyone that might enjoy exploring such a large settlement can do so. People who don't can easily /die away and search for their preferred lives. There's little downside.
I don't know, all in all I just.. I don't see the issue. And I really don't want to lose the enjoyment I've gotten beforehand from being born to a large town that I recognize. The game would've long since stagnated for me without the occasional break from the constant push of eve camps and early towns.
Oh I loved goose town! I was the first woman who got trapped in the room by some guy! I had kids in there and people kept us alive. Someone (maybe you) tried teleporting my kids out but my daughter went rogue and killed me. She called it the human zoo lol. Fun times!! I was born into the city again some time later and the zoo was still going on. I finally convinced people that while interesting ( people in other towns talked about the "human zoo"), it was a waste of resources. They quit feeding them and it ended
Otherwise I agree completely. How are we ever to advance if all our old cities are wiped out? I hate that. I personally love starting Eve camps. If I'm born into a city, I help out until I'm older, explore, then take a bowl, stone axe and bow drill in a basket and head off into the wild to build my own camp
The ginger guys mouth makes him look like a jack o lantern. He's scary
All the times I've been in last or next to last generation it was due to following reasons (working in combination and ordered in importance)
Reason number 1: (US) Night shift. It's night not many players are online drastically reducing town population. These are the towns you are drowning in resources. Tons of food, tools, horses, clothes, backpacks, yet the next generation is very uncertain.
Reason number 2: Unlucky RNG on girls vs. boys. So you had 4 children. All of them boys -> game over.
Reason number 3: Noobiness. Sometimes the girls you have are just too inexperienced to survive and put the food that is all around in their mouth.
then there is a gab.
Reason number 4: Griefers. Only with the combination of the previous 3 they can push a town over the edge. So you got 1 woman ... and that gets murdered. "muhahahaha." *rolls eyes*. If the town would be lively with players averagely experienced the griefer couldn't bring it down. Even if he breaks the compost cycle people could eat from wild resources etc.
Then there is a hugh, hugh gap.
Reason none: Ressource scarcity of any kind. Never seen it happen on iron, only on food in new villages with nobody baking, people standing in the cold feeding children eating like crazy, etc. (Reason 3)
Thus increased iron scarcity did nothing to towns, but made eve camps harder. Well it's not actually hard to scavenge for iron (with the zoom mod that is). But many players die trying and it takes time while the camp would still need all human power for various other tasks.
I also agree to what has said previously the actually most scarce resource is time. You only got 60 minutes (well somewhat less given useless baby/granny/grandpa years) to accomplish anything.
EDIT: One thing I forgot, lag spikes, can also occasionally be a serious mass-killer.
+1
can we talk about the sound that the spinning pump thing does , it's just Jason's voice going "EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH" had me dying at least.
Are all the in game sounds Jason's voice? My bf always overhears me playing and laughs at them lol
Oh sheeyit!!!
I just realized that notes can't be fully read if you're not old enough to say long enough things. This also needs to be fixed since it's pointless for old people for passing on knowledge if people can't read the full message.
I didn't realize that either. Now I know why it was always gibberish!
