That's a lot of turkey ! Glad to see that your twin kept one as a hat ^^

He could have saved you tho ... there were pads and needle and a fire just there !

I know I know, this conversation is an old hat but I would like to remind people and inform the new players that clothing children is not okay if there are ten adults running naked !

Your child might be cute and adorable with the over-sized apron and blue hat, wearing that huge backpack, but honestly, the guy who worked fifteen year at the pen could use it more.

If you are about to die, don't clothe the newborn who can only type one letter at a time or the kid that just stands there and is eating all the berries, never moving a finger. Give your stuff to the smith who might need a backpack for iron gathering or the guy that worked non stop since he was three. Reward them, because they are the reason your town is still running.

And don't EVER give a kid a backpack full of arrows and knifes! Especially knifes ! They can't grab them out of the backpack until they are eight I believe and you won't know if they will have good or bad intentions with that knife. If you have multiple of them in your possession, distribute them to the people you trust or those who are contributing to society. Or hide some.

Like I said before, clothing children is a slap in the face for all those naked hard working people out there.

Yea I get that ... you want to help, you want to teach them and protect them from any griefers as good as you can. But you will be the one that will end dead while everyone calls you griefer and noob.

My mother cut all of the Maple and Yew Tree around camp. I tried to tell her not to and got "they will grow back" as an answer. When I told her that they won't, I got called a slut, griefer and a troll and to stop memeing. I wanted to stab her so bad.

The other time I killed a kidnapper who let a baby girl die even though we were in need of girls. Then I killed his friend who tried to kill me (I was one of the two last fertile females of the town). I told the others why I killed them. Repeatedly.  I got shot by a girl who witnessed all of this, who saw the kidnapper telling his friend to avenge him. But I was the bad person. Not shortly after, she died as well, dooming the linage.

But then you have those who are very grateful teaching them. Those who ask politely for something and those who will help you out in a task or project. But as MultiLife says, if you are not appreciated in a bad located village, working your ass off and being frustrated and annoyed, just let it be. Do yourself a favor and let the village figure it out on their own. You can't help them all ^^

The most sexy male model is the curly brown haired man. Not only is he smoking hot but also has an amazing beard ! I imagine him being strong and very protective of his family.

Always there to the rescue, with his strong arms and deep voice to calm you down.

Well ... that's how I imagine him.

Just curious, how many times do you have to hit someone with a snowball to kill them ? Does the amount of snowball thrown at someone count or if they are hit repeatedly in a short amount of time ?

#81 Re: Main Forum » Killed for being a "cheater"? » 2019-01-06 18:35:11

People seem to look for any reason to stab someone.

I got stabbed because I was having a little bit of fun, role playing while holding my comatose daughter as long as possible in my arms, trying to "sell" her to someone. Some played along but then a woman had to stab me because of reasons I forgot.

Then I got almost shot because I was having a snowball fight with some people. Mind you they were either young or not doing anything and I would always feed them and work as well. But no fun allowed.

So yea, it doesn't surprise me that you got killed because you "cheated" ^^ People these days !

Like everyone else tells you, using the mod is not cheating.

Tea

I get that situation as well.

I find a decent spot and name myself. Everything is going great but there are no children to help out. They either run or /die and those who stay die of starvation when the food is just next to them ! Those who /die or leave are usually girls for some reasons ...

I don't have anything against new players, but most of my kids can't run five tiles to find all those bananas just ... there ! I fed my daughter while she had a disconnection, prepared six plates of eggs and planted berries and she even came back. Just in time before I died out of old age. She starved.

Starting a new civilization is hard.

I surely think that many would enjoy that update, it would add more spice to one life and would make great stories to tell ! Also a little bit of drama big_smile

Also it would be interesting to see what kind of Adam you will get to live your Eve life with. Will he be silent or talkative ? Will he be an experienced person or someone who burns the rabbits ? Will he stay with you ?

Exciting !

That would be funny indeed xD

I loved the location, it was almost surrounded by jungle and there were NO mosquitoes around ! But I think the pen and the kitchen are my favorite. I made the sheep pen next to the kitchen and made part of one wall out of boxes so when the shepherd would kill some sheep, he could easily put the meat in the boxes and the cook could use them for the pies, without running too far. Very effective and less clutter ♥

When I found that place, there were only part of the road, the walls and one forge. I spend three lifes building and got attached to it ^^ I was devastated when a woman came and stabbed me while I was building and for a long time never saw this place again.

I spawned in the middle of nowhere but after looking around a bit, I knew exactly where I was. Not far west from the Four Bell Tower City flourishes a small town, my favorite town. I spend hours planting those berries and building the pen and the bakery. Every time I was lucky enough to come back, I had to fix the destruction left by careless players.

There were never a lot of people living there, most of them went back to the main city and stayed there. But it seems that people started to enjoy the little town, at the edge of the jungle.

I spend my Eve life there but sadly the family name died with my only daughter killed by Maddy Westgate. While making bread and cleaning up, I noticed a young man helping around. His name was Samson Westgate.

He asked for my knife since he wanted to stay in the kitchen and continue to bake. He seemed like an honest and nice lad, so I gave him my knife and asked him to take care of Berta and Herbert. He was confused and surprised when I told him that Berta was our cow.

"We have a cow ?" he asked surprised. So I led him to Berta's little pen, just next to the sheep pen.

"How should I take care ? Does she need a new berry bush ?"

"Nah, just come by some times and say hi. She loves that."

He told me that he would do that and I had to smile. I was certain that as soon as I died, he would continue to make pies and bread and completely forget about Berta. After all, it's just a game .

I said my good byes to Samson and started my new life. I was thrilled to see that I was born to the main city as Ike Westgate and rushed back to the other town as soon as I got hair.

Samson was working diligent in the kitchen, baking those pies and bread, while teaching the art of baking to a new player. I went to him, saying "I'm / back" but he seemed too occupied to notice my little white bubble. So I started to work, letting him teach his apprentice in peace.

After some time, Samson got old. Very old. While working at the berry farm, I noticed him saying to his student to follow him. They stopped in front of Berta's pen and he said this :

"This is Berta. Say hi to her from time to time"

I awed in front of my laptop and was so touched. For some time now I saw lots of murder and dispute in my recent lifes and seeing how one player actually cared about the name of the cow and the little story I told him, really really moved me and made me forget everything else.

Thank you Samson ! That was so sweet ♥

If you ever happen to be born to this town, say Hi to Berta wink

You can go on an empty server and try some stuff out on your own or ask on the OHOL Discord to join you and show you some stuff.

How to change the server :

- Go to settings
- Check the little square next to "use custom server" and add the server address
- Click "back" and then you are ready to go

Check this link to know what server is currently empty : http://onehouronelife.com/reflector/ser … ion=report

Hope this helps smile

I don't think that you are cursed, I believe there are simply not a lot of people online right now so you will be born either as an Eve or as a child of one.

There were other baskets around that he could use, the lady just took it probably because it was just next to her. Sure she could have asked, but a BASKET ? ^^ I don't know it seemed silly to me

I've been playing for a while now and have met all sorts of people.

Roleplayer, Hard working Player, Pros, Sponges, Griefers, Idiots, .... you name it. But recently I've met a new kind or player you can find in this game.

Those who think that they own everything they make or gather.

Now don't get me wrong, if you made a BP for yourself, then yes, that is yours until your death. The people I'm talking about are those who gather materials and don't want to share it with others because THEY gathered or made it, so it belongs to THEM and if you want that kind of materials or stuff, you'd have to gather or make it yourself.

I just had that kind of person in one of my life again. I spend years gathering iron for the town, since we were out of and we were missing some tools. Once I've gathered enough, me and an old man fired up the forge and started to turn the iron into ingots and so on.

Then I used some kindling lying near the forge and just as I wanted to fire it up, some guy came and took it out. I told him to put it back, already pissed that there were many people standing at the forge, blocking some tiles. He didn't wanted to give it back. Why ? Because he gathered it. It was his. He told me to gather some myself if I wanted kindling.

I don't know what he did with that or why he needed that. He was running around the forge the whole time and I was very close shooting him, especially after he "accidentally" stabbed me. He might have but it seemed too fishy to be an accident.
It seems that I find those kind of players a lot lately. THEY gathered it, THEY made it, so it belongs to THEM. Last time it was a basket. Someone got angry because one lady dared to use HIS basket to get soil from the compost.

In my opinion, there is no such thing as MINE (BP, clothes and knifes are another thing) in a town. Everything can be used by everyone. The iron that a boy gathered doesn't belong to him. The stew that granny made, doesn't belong to her only. The wood that some person cut doesn't belong to only him/her. If you don't want someone taking your kindling, then DON'T PUT IT NEXT TO THE FORGE OR BAKERY.

Or players who just take stuff from someone without asking.
You need that cart next to you to put all the wood in it for the fire ? Too bad, this player needs it more for his own stuff/plans. Someone is making compost and the shovel is next to the poop so they can add it later ? Just grab it without asking so he can bury those thousands of bones.

Is it too hard to ask ?

I just find it so fascinating and shocking at the same time. Or it's just me who can't understand why people do that sort of thing ^^

#94 Re: Main Forum » /die problem » 2018-12-13 16:34:53

Tea

What problem ?

/die is a fun feature. You can run around with baby bones in your arms.
It adds to the story telling. It saves time.

You don't want to stay in this town but don't want to run 1.5k (over dramatic, ik) with a random woman following you to "save" you ? Just /die and everyone is happy.

I don't think it's too annoying for the travelling mothers to give birth to a player who wants to /die. Would you like to have an infant running behind you, while you stop every 5 seconds to feed it or an infant that you just have to pick up once, dies and you can travel back to base without that crying bundle of stress following you.

I prefer to have babies who /die and have my "birth cool down" reset than a kid that just bails on me and I have to wait longer for a new kid.

#95 Re: Main Forum » The Rebirth tales! Volume 1 » 2018-12-10 19:53:05

Tea

Well I have a little rebirth story.

I was Eve Kelderman and helped my children to set up a camp in a decent spot I had found. Growing old and weak didn't stop me from working my ass of but unfortunately Death came too soon. Died at age 56.

I was devastated, my chances getting back into this family one day was near to 0. Wished my family good luck and clicked on reborn, ready to start a new life in a new family. I was immediately reborn into the Kelderman Family. You can imagine my surprise.

I managed to live my second life until old age and even greeted Eve Willow who spawned in our town before Death took me for good. It was a good life.

#96 Re: Main Forum » On zoom mods, should I use one? » 2018-12-10 19:38:24

Tea

I honestly use the Zoom Out Mode too, just to scale it up a bit, like two times. I really don't want to miss it since the default is just too near for me. If the default zoom would be changed a little bit, I'd be willing to stop using the mode but tbh knowing how old one is, is pretty sweet. A lot of players want to know how old they are.

If fathers would be implemented one day, wouldn't it be nice to show mother and father on the right top corner ? I think it's cute to have your mother and father listed in the game. I don't need to know if my last daughter is still alive and fertile or if there are any other females in town. But I'd like to have like a little family tree shown while playing. Mother, Father & Lover maybe ?

Jason, Valentines Day ? Lover ?

I love my twins and triplets ! I also play with my boyfriend as twins sometimes to show him how to play. When he dies, I usually suicide unless I'm a girl.

Since the steam release I've never had a problem with twins or triplets or quads. And I can understand that they all suicide once one of them dies. You want to continue to play with your friends and don't want them to wait one hour to play together ^^

I made pads because there was a domestic boar killing all those brave people attempting to kill that beast. I've made a full bowl of pads and went to the pen where the animal was.

Unfortunately I got hit and went to the place where the pads where. I tried telling people to use the pads and the needle but no one did anything. Some lady came around and hid the bowl with her big freaking head.

The conversation went something like this :

"Oh no ! We really need pads."

"We have pads !"

"We really need to kill that boar"

"Use the pads ! Move !"

"Where are the pads ?"

"Behind you !! MOVE !"

You died.
