I don't like ppl using mental health as something to dangle over spoon and make them feel ashamed. I agree they should take a break if they're feeling low but don't act like you're concerned when you've already lost patience with them it's a shitty thing to do to feign concern and bring up mental illness like you actually gaf. ( I realise a few ppl were being genuine but come on)

That being said I hope you do come back spoon!

Don't assume what the fuck I'm acting like.. I deal with mental issues myself.. I know the signs of someone's mind being off balance.. Yes, I still think he is a fucking douche-bag for comparing a video game to rape, but that doesn't stop me from showing concern and pointing out to him the he is acting off balance. Mental health is a serious matter no matter who you are.

You know the whole assume quote right? Maybe you should keep that in mind the next time you make assumptions.

You would seriously advocate griefing to force people to stop playing OHOL?    Jesus.   That is too far.     I never thought you would go full dark-side.

It's not the dark side, Desitiny.  This is a display of someone needing mental help. Mr. Spoonwood here is a grown man acting and obsessing like this over a video game that he does not like nor play. He also feels he needs to protect himself from this game..

This man needs to seek out some help, and I really hope that he does. I don't think that he realizes that he is not acting as a sound minded person.

#78 Re: Main Forum » Walk Away, Jog Away, Run Away ... Permanently » 2020-02-14 23:25:40

You don't play the game, you're just here trying to get others to feel as you do and for some reason you feel you need to protect yourself from ever playing the game again.. Yet, here you are on the forums pretty much all day long about the same game you need to protect yourself from.

Do you not have a life? Are you lonely and this is your only source of human interaction? I'm so confused why you are so obsessed with a game you want nothing to do with.  Also, why do you feel you need protection from a video game?  It sounds like you have no self control and have some weird obsession with this game that you do not like nor want to play.. Most people would just uninstall it and that's that, no other thought about it.

I'm not trying to be rude, but when mental issues occur, most people can not see that they need help or even see the odd actions and behavior that they are displaying.  If you are on meds, I think you may want to talk about getting them adjusted. If you are off your meds, I think you need to consider getting back on them, or consider some counseling. If you've never been diagnosed with mental issues, you may want to talk to your doctor. I seriously suspect that your mind is a little off balance right now. It happens, just sometimes we can't see it for ourselves.

I wish you luck on whatever is going on mentally with you.

I wonder what the real reason is.

Is it true at all, or is it just our selective memory?

Is it caused by popularity, or does it merely happen over time?

If it's a popularity thing, what exactly happens? Do popular games disproportionately attract toxic players, or do players in popular games become more toxic?

Perhaps people with bad memories are just more likely to leave, while people with good memories stay and are later surprised when their experience regresses back to average?

The more people there are the more diverse the crowd is. The more popular the game gets, the higher chance of griefers joining the game..

It's like that in life as well..  It's best to keep your circle of friends small, the more you have the higher chances of having a "Fake friend" or three in there..  Quality over Quantity..

When I started playing OHOL, I was really impressed by how nice the community was.   The spontaneous cooperation and support between strangers that I experienced in this game is a rarity in multiplayer games.   Even the forum was full of people sharing their love of the game and fun lives that they had played.   Griefing wasn't exactly rare, but it didn't overshadow the good parts of the game.   On the whole, the community made it a great game to play, full of heartwarming and funny moments, along with the occasional tragedy or disaster.

The game and community has been through a lot of changes since that time.

Yeah, it happens to all games that are online multi-player..  The more known a game gets the higher the chance of "toxic" players joining in..

I remember before the war swords and the rift were introduced it was still pretty peaceful around here. It was nice hopping on and reading wholesome and funny stories about a life just lived, it usually ended up in reconnecting with someone you just played with.  We have too many griefers in the game and too many vocal douche-bags on the forum now.. It sucks to see.

All I have to say is Fuck you for even taking rape as lightly as you just did.. Fucking idiot.

Aren't we suppose to imagine OHOL characters as if they were real people living in the future?  How do you think they would feel when, as ever so often happens, reproduction is forced upon them?

Again, Fuck you!

This is a fucking game you jackass, rape is not!

You have severe mental problems if you don't see the wrong in your post. Unless you're a POS rapist yourself? This post speaks volumes on who you are. I will be avoiding your posts here on out. I am thankful that I do not know you in person, I feel extremely sorry for everyone who does.

I dress with whatever is available at the time.. If I switch something I have on out, its for whatever will give me the most warmth.. Same goes with making my own clothes..  I don't really go for style.. The "stylish" clothes are cute, just not worth it to me considering you lose warmth.

#86 Re: Main Forum » Road Helpers Wanted! » 2020-02-03 09:09:11

I have to agree with Punky about the road design. When I first seen your design where you have to run through every town just to get from A to D, I instantly thought fuck that mess, I would just run straight across.

One life flies by, why spend extra time taking the long route!  I'm sure many other players would do the same, at least the vets and anyone who's played a good deal of time in the game would.  New players know no better, they would travel the long route until they realize it's a waste of valuable time..

Not sure if he named it or not, but "Punky Town" would be a good name..  You know like the song Funky town, but Punky town because Punky built it. big_smile

#88 Re: Main Forum » Goodbye genetic fitness » 2020-01-25 19:41:16

When giving babies and kids backpacks, put a pie in the BP for them.. Tell them they have food in their BP for when they get hungry.

If it is a Zoom problem, them having food on hand will help when they can't seem to find where the food is.  Also, I always show my babies where the kitchen is and then when they grow up, I drop them off at the berry bushes so they know where they are.

If the player seems newish, I randomly feed them when I go by them just to make sure they live. I do that with the town kids at times as well. lol

#89 Re: Main Forum » Notice board - for jobs » 2020-01-24 04:06:40

A habit and trend has to start somewhere.. You do it enough more and more people will pick it up and continue the trend.. Soon enough it will be a norm around every town..

My suggestion, every station has a job box..  Maybe at first, until it becomes a regular thing, make a sign that says "Jobs" then under the sign will be a box with papers of what supplies that station needs to make that job easier for the person working there..

It takes persistence to make something catch on with everyone, but if enough people do it and keep at it, it will happen.

#90 Re: News » Update: Curved Tracks » 2020-01-24 03:24:30

Very nice! I know there will be lots of different builds and designs happening with the tracks now!

Good work, very much appreciated! smile

Curious, if you happen to send a cart on each track and they meet in the middle at the same time, will they crash into each other and be destroyed?

Bullying threads = NOT OK
Multiple threads about the same issue from the same person = Should be combined

Neither of those are heavy handed, and Bullying should NEVER be tolerated anywhere..

I never see anything really handled by a mod ever..  I understand Jason wants it to be modded light handed, but Bullying threads should NEVER be condoned.. Combining same topic threads by the same person should be allowed.. You not combining those threads is the reason a bullying thread was made.. You are allowing the issue at hand to be created by not addressing the main issue in the first place..  So what do you mods actually do?? Do you mods just have the title with no responsibilities..

#99 Re: Main Forum » A Multiplayer Death Game of Parenting and Civilization Building » 2020-01-16 02:36:38

Spoonwood, I am by far the last person to gang up on anyone, but all of the "Family survival" threads could have been placed and talked about in 1 single thread..

I can see why people are getting frustrated with you, by making a thread about the same topic over and over again.. Heck, I'm feeling a little annoyed now.. They just go about it the wrong way Ie: Bullying thread, which is never the right way to go.

Unless you really are trying to get under people's skin, please condense this topic down to 1 thread.. This is unnecessary and I'm starting to feel bamboozled every time I open up a thread from you repeating the same thing you have said in the last 5 threads.  I'm sure Jason has seen your point of view by now.. If he agrees with you he will find a solution.. At this point you are beating a dead horse..

Jason please make me a Mod so that I can combine all of these threads together.. I understand you want mods to moderate very light handed but this should have been handled and combined with the other threads by the mods you have now.. Mods, do your job please.
