Huh? I *had* more than one grandmother. My mother is not, and never was, the child of one of my grandmothers.
Also, wondible's comment was:
wondible wrote:Any children can be fertile without a homeland
You want to claim that some people are children, being offspring of their mothers in OHOL, while adults also, and can be fertile then?
But that differs from *any* children being fertile without a homeland. And it's simply not the case that *any* child, even *any female* child can be fertile in OHOL. Why? Because when a player is a child in the sense of definition 1a of Merriam-Webster's in OHOL, they cannot be fertile... with or without a homeland.
Okay so I just have a few questions.
1. Is English your first language? (ie, are you fluent in English?)
2. Are you a Moral Theorist?
3. What kind of drugs are you on? (I'm asking for a friend.)
4. If I called you a contrarian, would you immediately say your not a contrarian.
5. Can you teach me to high-jack a conversation? (again, asking for a friend)
6. Less of a question, more of a comment. Love your Troll game dude. #FathersMatter #OHOLmarriage
RP without purpose is just cringe.
I developed this play style during a time when towns were old and roads were long. Technically the oldest to date. Voltaire. I starting playing it for fun. Then I realized it was a way to teach people how to Eve. So I taught them a way of living without a town. Right now, in the current setup, you could use the same skills to setup your Eve settlement as close as possible to another beneficial race. Only because before you setup the first well, your family is in free reign. Once your family digs a well, you are forever land locked.
OneOfMany wrote:So berries always gave 6 pips.
No. It was 5 pips usually.
I stand corrected. I was questioning if it was 5 or 6, when I posted. Either way it was a very different world.
My how the yum times have changed. <sorry> just a roll down memory lane.
OneOfMany wrote:...At this time, a wild berry bush, even if striped of berries, would regrow all it's berries back. There were also no homeland restrictions on births. This was the time when both players and berry bushes were allowed to live free, in the wilds.
lol, this sounds like a fairytale, imagine a free life without birth control and dead berry bushed, what a paradise this must have been....
It was even better. At the time there wasn't the generational food drain. So berries always gave 6 pips. Basically, all you had to do was keep moving to fresh greens and gather useful things along the way. You be surprised how easy it was to cloth a family. They were always amazed when I started making them clothes in the wilds.
This time for me, was my most happiest time in the game. Alas, it's not possible anymore, but I still have fun, even if being semi-locked to a town.
ugh.. yeah, so read the title.
I admit I'm dumb and have a short attention span, but finding the <blanked blank> password, needed to post on the forum, is too hard to find if you purchase through Steam. I played for over a year before I figured it out, although I am dumb and have a short attention span.
***As a Note: DO NOT POST THE PASSWORD, IT IS SECRET***
I don't remember what it was, but it was something ridiculous, like "skin flute". Even if I did remember, I wouldn't post it and I ask all of you to respect the rules and not post it.
All I can say is, if you purchased on Steam, you may need to use your crazy auto-steam email account to log in. GL in finding the info.
Where are the good roleplayers? Why no one RPs anymore?
Well my friend, let me tell you a tale of my greatest RP experience in OHOL. TLDR I RPed a way to play without a town, that's not possible anymore, due to home land restrictions and such, but it was way fun while it lasted and I might of got the wild berry bush nerfed because of it. <sorry>

This tale takes place in a time long ago. After the Rift, but still in the time of the fruitful wild berry bush and the people who loved them. At this time, a wild berry bush, even if striped of berries, would regrow all it's berries back. There were also no homeland restrictions on births. This was the time when both players and berry bushes were allowed to live free, in the wilds. I refined a play style where you live off the land, always moving, with small camps (or possibly stealing <trading?>) to make useful things, like knives and bowls, pies and what not. I had a bit of a ritual to initiate the young. If you know this story or you experienced it in game, then you we're my child or one of children’s children.
As soon as my child was born, I would bring them to the nearest full wild berry bush. Then I would strip off all the berries and throw them on the ground, in front of them. In their confusion, I scope them up as say these words.
This bush is your bush
it represents your life.
Wild berries regrow,
one per ten mins.
When this bush is full,
you will be dead.
This bush is like us,
it is wild and free.
It lives in the greens,
as do we.
Never go hungry again.
I will make you clothes
and bp.
The land will offer them up.
We need no town,
no well.
We are not caged,
we are free.
There's a reason the speech is so long, because by this time the SIDs timer has run out. That was not generally a problem because most people seemed very happy to learn. I did have a kid apologize for not wanting to live that lifestyle and wanting to commit suicide. I told him, he was blameless and that I still loved him even if he was a towns person.
There were unforeseen complications to this "live wild and free" lifestyle and I fear one of my progeny may have been responsible for a debacle that ended up getting wild berries nerfed, so that they won't regrow if picked bare. If so, I apologize to the majestic wild berry bush and regardless, I hope one day Jason may see it fit to once again to bless the wild berry bush to exist truly wild and free. #FreeTheWildBerryBush
Over production can be as much as a problem as under production. That's why when I play, I try to do as little as possible.
If something is missing it's easy enough to make it. There's no real need to stock pile things for generations with the open tool slots.
Although, to be fair, one of them is regarding the actual bug that happens if you die while tripping and then you just keep on falling forever.
!
Here's a tip.. if this happens and your next life is a permanent trip. Take another dose. If you eat mushrooms it will be a double trip but then fades back to normal. I learned this out of desperation one life.
Well, I just had one of those awesome OHOL experiences and while it wasn't my first life, it was the first life of my mother, and I tried to make it exceptional. I very much enjoyed this life. I saw my mother was new, early on. It's kinda easy to spot new players. I learned it was actually their first life after the tutorial. (as a side note there was no "new player" notification, idk if it works from child to parent) I spent my whole life trying to explain the basics, yum, farming, culture, but we never got to cooking. My Ma was awesome. She learned a bunch, I probably overwhelmed her, with the tiny bit I showed her. Her final words... "This has been a very wonderful life.. Thank you for everything.".... I would say that's One Hour One Life. ILY Ma.
If you build it, they will come
How about a "Bless You" command that makes it more likely you play with that person and gives them a speech bubble like cursing(but a different color), so you know who they are... thoughts?
How about a "Bless You" to both raise their gene score and make it more likely to play with them (bizarro curse)
I have been thinking about this. Is it possible to transport kerosene thousands of tiles away, by plane. It would be one way to finally bring the families together again, if it worked.
Feel free to message me.

Miskas has the best maths. I love math. What does this info mean? BTW, nice google doc.
life has shity gameplay but the graphics are good.
I find the game play challenging, but as far as the graphics goes, I can see the pixels. Lag is a bitch.
Thank you very much for allowing it.
I absolutely agree, Life is the greatest game of all. But when you want to play a video game, might I suggest OHOL. It's in no way a substitute for sunlight and social distancing, but when you want to play a game might i suggest eating popcorn in OHOL.
True, but then you wouldn't be playing.
Which is more valuable.... I have my opinions. What are yours?

I am an advocate of corn. I can't help it... It calls to me.
Popcorn should be the first meal you make as a child. It's so easy and it's like 1/24th of a water for a Yum. Which puts it in the all time highest Yums per water with some of the least amount of effort required. Quite frankly, IMO, it's one of the easiest yummiest foods around. I know, what a controversial opinion. jk (one per life.. that's how Yums work)
