What about this: If an eve comes into a village she can make a peace offering, which makes her family unable to use swords on the other family. if x percent of her family later agree to undo that agreement, there is a warning of some sorts for the other family and a timer ( 1 minute ?)

This way, their family is still "weaker" than the other, since they could still use swords on them, without making them slaves

Maybe some kind of paper signed by Eve or whoever and another by the other family to make an official alliance.

It'll last a number of hours before decaying unless it gets renewed.

Allied families cannot use swords on each other and can curse each other.

PS: I'd rather be enslaved then immediately killed when entering any town. It dosn't have to be slavery, I'd be happy with any way to peacefully integrate into an established town.

Sounds interesting, Slave uprisings sounds like fun.

It is common for Eves to try and live in or steal from towns. They offer better living conditions then living in the wild. Your lineage may do better as slaves to a big city with the possibility of gaining freedom down the line.

It is possible that one could be set free peacefully once trusted by the town.

Trust is a major issue when it comes to accepting foreign people into your town. Right now we can either kill them or let them stay with full rights.

I saw this idea on the forums, The guy suggested shackles that slow them down and prevent them using weapons. Slowdown probably isn't needed anymore with the current system, Replace it with not being able to use vehicles.

Towns can control what rights they have. Could be that are just second class citizens or locked in a pen.

#80 Re: Main Forum » What to do to attract new players? Advice for Jason that he never aske » 2019-05-27 02:28:42

Focus more on the town building and having needs change as civilization advances.

Griefing becoming harder the more advanced a town is.

#81 Re: Main Forum » What's the point of being male if I can't have a child? » 2019-05-26 16:37:49

Nurseries do alot to relieve the burden. You still have to drop them off and you still cannot explore freely until you are 40.

I don't really like dealing with chain /die babies and twin birthes are especially taxing. Although sometimes you get best of both worlds if you don't get many kids.

#82 Re: Main Forum » Spamming the "n" word... » 2019-05-23 02:51:19

Just kill them, Alot of people want to but are afraid of being cursed and killed themselves.

I killed a guy yesterday because he was going around calling everyone else peasants.

#83 Re: Main Forum » Ways to get more players to leave town. » 2019-05-23 02:36:40

Well exploring is hard, Only REALLY  need to leave town for iron ore. Greater tech like radios and whatnot require exotic ores but aren't needed for the town.

You could add long term pollution from overuse of diesel+ technologies. Wasteland biome that has unfavorable temp, Kills domestic animals and is unfarmable. Overtime your land becomes uninhabitable and you have to move, You can't just not build diesel because you'll die from drought.

You could develop cleaner non-crude stuff but the damage isn't fixable. So you move and make a camp, This time with modern technology. Now you can enjoy peace until your nuclear power plant melts down.

Interesting so town bouncers can a thing now.

But this also enhances tree sniping...

I had people like Leonard (there's an accent over the 'o' that I don't know how to make here) and I think MultiLife saying that they don't quite understand the negative tone towards me, so no, it's not everyone.  Also, I think you've only see what I've said on the forum, not elsewhere.

Yes, I have other hobbies.

Well, I've only ever seen you complain up until recently.

You have hated on buildings quite a lot and even said you didn't want them improved at one point. But you have responded positively to Jason's building buff.

It's a role reversal because I'm not convinced it will help much. Still too much clutter in towns even outdoors.

Sounds like it has potential.

I don't know if it means it's better to have an indoor smithy, since an earlier diesel water pump might have more value than a building.  But, even if the better strategy means you want to get the diesel water pump up asap, it does make a properly built, *large*, smithy more useful later on.  So, I'm just raising a question about timing.

I'm much more confident that it can work well for bakeries.

Here's hoping that people build large and useful buildings that don't have space issues.

This right here is a rare occasion.

You are conistantly an ass to everyone yet you have been here for awhile now.

Why have you stayed for so long despite your constant misery.

Do you have any other hobbies outside of this.

#88 Re: Main Forum » Buildings double plus good » 2019-05-22 01:49:06

Nice change but temperature isn't my main issue. You still have to contend with very limited space and storage options.

The extra warmth is a good benefit but do we spend enough time indoors for it to be worth?

Bakers and Forgers usually only do things ins batches rather then constantly smith/bake all life.

I personally kill every Eve but I try to be more trusting of Non-Eves/ Fellow civilized folk.

Immigration can provide a fertility boost and also more race variety within the town. Eve raiders are just the same griefers from before who now only eve because of curse immunity.

Anyone else has pretty low Chance of being bad.

#90 Re: Main Forum » the next thing i want is a vehicle for more than one » 2019-05-20 03:00:59

It'd be worth the effort. I don't think it'd be that hard to do.

Just make people containable inside a running car with a driver. The main use would probably be baby transport.

Walls are annoying to maintain and block exploration.

A bunker is a simple walled off area within the town, With some supplies to survive a raid and possibly rebuild afterwards.

I saw a suggestion for watch towers that let you shoot arrows at intruders. I imagine a castle like structure with ballistas to snipe off any unwanted visitors, Could be a gun turret in later times. The turrets would be great for area deniel so even commoners living around the fort would have some protection.

But for now we can only have a fenced in area with some food while people outside fight the raiders.

I think that Jason did actually have Wars in mind even when he made the trailer. The robots will automatically shoot anybody not in the family. Then having tram systems so allied towns could get past the defences.

#92 Re: Main Forum » Civilization Eras - Current - By Ian » 2019-05-19 03:18:56

Funny but not exactly accurate.

Tribel: Eve Era as described, Lasts the lifetime of the original Eve.

Small Village Era: At this this stage most tools and Sheep become  a thing. Eve's Kids and Grandkids.

Town Era: The rest of the tools are made and Shallow well is upgraded to deep. A horse is usually made at this point  and an iron vein is mined.

Large Town Era: Deep Well runs dry and newcoman pump and cistern is contructed. This is usually when the depression begins, Water becomes more precious and less people want to live in the later Era's.

The crisis Era: Oh no!  The newcoman has gone dry and We don't have the knowledge and/or resources to get diesel going.
Let's just build a roadway to the next spring, That'll fix the problem tor awhile.

The City Era: Diesel engine and fuel source is finally built, The end of the practical tech tree. Let's build looms so we can rp in our coloured dresses.

The meaningless Era: People are now truly bored.

So basically VATS

If ranged is such a good counter to swords, You should add guns.

Not as long as the knife but the defenders still need a chance. I've had more fun with knife and bow raids then with the sword.

You need help from others for a successful raid. Wars don't really feel like wars when it's just one guy, It's just a lone griefer acting alone.

But with an Army, You have to convince others to help you.

It's more realistic and makes it a bit harder for griefers. Most people do not want war, Only a few who ruin things. Not only that but the bigger the enemy town, The more people you will need.
