I've realized recently that new players don't understand why boys should be abandoned. So I'm going to explain it so that lineages will hopefully die off less. Disclaimer: I am not saying every boy should automatically be abandoned, this is just a list to say why you need to think "Should I keep him?"
-Something that should be obvious but apparently isn't is when you are in the early stages of camps or experiencing a famine, don't keep the boys. This is a time when food is scarce and the work demand is high. The only thing you do is waste food pips and time raising baby boys when you should be running around saving the town. Depending on how dire the situation is, you may also want to abandon girls. You starving yourself to raise a baby is not worth it when you could've quickly set up a farm or foraged for food.
-When you have less women in town, your family is more likely do die. Men do help with work but if you have a town full of only men then their work is for nothing. You need to pay attention to how many fertile women and little girls there are, because if a lot of them starve, get old, or get bit by an animal, that means you should start abandoning boys.
-The current lineage ban rules make it so you need to live 30 collective minutes in a family to be banned from the lineage. So if you live one 30 year old life or two 15 year old lives then you are banned. This is actually helpful when abandoning boys because as babies they have practically 0 minutes lived in the family, meaning that they are likely to be reborn back to your family, hopefully as a girl.
TL;DR:
Is there no food? Stop wasting your time breastfeeding and abandon boys (and sometimes girls) and focus on food.
Having 2 fertile women and 8 men in your town means u need to abandon boys or your families' gonna die off.
You say that as if new players don't join every hour or that the lineage banned players outplay their ban and are able to be reborn back into the original lineage.
But there's so many things to do besides advancing the tech tree. You could dye clothes, make a bonsai, make a building, build roads, expand the town, organize the town, get a dog, make sure there's a bell tower, make a bearskin rug, make another horse with cart, make some antivenom, make a library, make a blue rose, make a cistern. I don't really understand why advancing in the tech tree is more important than advancing a lineage. You can just connect to an unpopulated server and enjoy Eve heaven.
There is a report button on every post someone makes. All you have to do is report it and we will review the post, and carry out a warning or punishment if need be. Senseless fighting and name calling gets us nowhere and only contributes to the toxicity of this community, even if it's aimed towards a troll. Please be sensible and report anything you may think is against the rules, but don't give them the attention they crave.
Starving as a baby is different from quitting the moment you load in. If you don't want to play in a town then don't play on the server that has towns on it. The current lineage ban rules are meant to help baby boys that are abandoned because they are boys and gives them a chance to be born as girls into the town. I don't get why people hate Eve camps/big towns so much. It's a game and you have plenty to do in either circumstance so why refuse to be a part of either side?
Aprons aren't op, they just give you a pocket. It's not an exploit, some clothes just don't decay. I don't see how making aprons worse could improve the game when nearly everything else we use is already capable of decaying. If anything, people would just stop making aprons.

Oh you must be a hell of a griefer if you can't even teleport wounds. I bet you also empty ponds so they won't refill.

Like, what is so bad about living in towns? Yeah, I get why Eve camps are fun but do you not complain about three quarters of your babies suiciding because they want to be in towns? The only thing you're doing is contributing to the downfall of some other Eves lineage because you want to make your own kiln. If you want to be an Eve then go in an unpopulated server because I'm so tired of having nine kids and seven of them suicide.
Well you may just be born to moms who don't keep you. The only thing I can think of if you think it's a tech error is to reinstall the game. If you still need help I'd suggest joining the discord server so more people will be able to help you more quickly.
This thread is now being closed. Try to talk about OHOL in the OHOL forums please. Note that from now on any more posts or threads that include personal attacks or insults will result in a temp ban without warning.
I literally just ignored this thread because I knew it was going to be nothing but pointless squabbles. All ya'll had to do was stop responding and it would've ended but you kept going, so don't just blame Pharo because it's obvious he wasn't having a conversation with himself. But now I see that it's veered to the point of not being anywhere remotely related to the game so I'm closing this.
It is technically unapproved because they did try to work with Jason and get the mobile game to be on the same server as the PC. But Jason only wanted to do so if they sold it for $20. It's an exact copy of the game and since OHOL is open source it's not illegal for them to do so and Jason does not mind that it exists.
"Trolling" isn't against the rules. Being annoying and rude is also unfortunately not against the rules. All superfun wants is attention and you keep giving it to him which is why he keeps trolling so much. He was already banned on the discord which is why he hangs out here. If you want to talk about the game where superfun cant, join the discord server. If you want to stay in this cycle of feeding hate then by all means, keep talking to superfun and about superfun because that's obviously worked well so far.
To combat bots and autoclickers, time in Donkey Town now does not count towards getting rid of curses unless you have lived for at least ten minutes. If you live for nine minutes, nothing is counted but if you live fifteen minutes then it counts for fifteen minutes. He said he may eventually try to implement recognizing more advanced bots but for now that is all that has changed.
When you die of old age your Eve Spawn is then set to a random person's location, so you will spawn to where they are which is most likely a town or camps. It works on unpopulated servers because all of the players are in the same area which saves the location. But if you are on server 1 then you will spawn to another players location.
Yes, they do not work anymore. You can still make them but you will no longer curse someone if you read the note.
I’m sorry that you feel bots are somehow against the rules but they are not. Jason does not believe in banning players for the things they do in game. Period. He can use bots and talk about using bots but he will never be banned for doing so. The only bannable offenses are toxic behaviors that go against the rules.
There is no reason to add a bot detector because bots are not a bannable offense. He could add curse points to the bot but he does not want to because he does not want to ban players.
Once again, having a bot and mods is not against the rules. Superfun2 has been warned for personal attacks but bragging about griefing and bots is not against the rules nor is it cheating.
Bots and mods are accepted by Jason. The game is open source so people can do whatever they want with the game as long as it doesn't break the game. The teleport and deleting glitches are different issues that Jason may or may not address.
I really don't care because it still takes them away from the regular civs for an hour. They could still live multiple lives by just watching videos and clicking respawn every time they starve. They aren't required to be playing and moving at all times. If wasting an hour so they can have 10 minutes of fun is what they want to do, then I say let them go nuts.
Based on average walking speed it would take seven consecutive generations to even come close to the other towns from Donkey Town. And even if you did manage to do that, can't imagine people would be too welcoming.
Yeah i don't mind the weaponization step as long as it doesn't apply to just one breed. As for the funny factor imagine walking great danes, those beasts will drag you down the street in 10 seconds.
According to those facts, children younger than two years and adults older than 50 totaled 28 (~72%) out of the 39 fatal attacks. Only 6 of the pit bulls were known to be sterilized (a method used to lessen aggression). Five (13%) of the dog bite fatality victims "were either visiting or living temporarily with the dog's owner when the fatal attack occurred, down from a record 42% high in 2016."
