It looks like food value is different from the number of bars a food will fill.
This is correct. The posts above do not take the 'bonus food' value into account.
This is a value that gets added to every bite you take from something.
Currently this value = 2.
For example, eating a berry will restore 3(base) + 2(bonus food) = 5 food (instead of 3)
Example 2, a full mutton pie will restore 4(uses) * (10(base) + 2(bonus food)) = 48 food (instead of 40)
In the good old days the food bonus was 3, but Jason is still Mister Pretty Nice Guy.
So I spawned as an eve into what appeared to be ruins recently. There were some tools and stone walls hanging around... but it didn't seem to be a complete set... almost like it was a former town half despawned... or in the process of despawning.
A while ago I got the same 'half-despawned ruins' as well. In my case it was in a checkerboard pattern.
We discarded this as an issue with the server 1 disk acting weird due to overloaded storage.
Do you still have the replay of this life? Would be awesome to check whether this was also in this particular pattern.
I use "XD" and "Lol" all the time and Im a 21 year old dude. When using text chat it can sometimes be hard to see what the intend behind a certain comment is. A quick "XD" "Lol" or any other smiley can fix that problem.
Otherwise ill seem like a sarcastic asholle.

Math doesn't check out.
Just a quality of life change, change the minimum age to activate the cave from 0 to 5?
Or maybe even 3? Just that few years where babies run off?
I get that it is not very realistic, but it saves so much annoyance.
I think this is a beautiful idea. This also leaves room for better water extraction technologies
Irrigation soon?
^This. The wells we have now don't have a real downside.
With the placement-restriction, the difficulties of carrying it around in buckets, leaves room for better tools to be added to the game.
Next time, when somebody asks to marry you, type LMAO a few times.
If he/she runs off, you know who was playing .
Boys are just broken girls in this game. They offer no advantage.
Boys can produce, without causing new players to spawn.
This prevents overpopulation, while maintaining the necessary workpower.
It's not much...
(and they have mighty beards!)
After a goose comes back from his swimming state, he will drain water from the pond.
When a goose is swimming in a near empty pond, it is not able to come back out (because that would drain the pond to empty).
The goose in this case, will be stuck in his animation and the pond will not refill (not tested myself, but assumed due to experience).
Steps to reproduce:
Find a pond.
Hit the goose.
Wait for it to come back.
Expected result: goose standing next to a full pond.
Observed result: goose standing next to a pond, with 1 less water.
I seen in a game that a seal jumped in and the ice hole moved two tiles diagonally
I think i have seen the same thing happen. But it all happens so fast...
@Lanol Nice killscore Sammy.

Today I've been playing on server 1 in a big city.
South of the city were some Ice Holes, I'm talking about 30 of them very close to each other.
I've seen many Ice Holes near big cities before. It could have something to do with patching and loading the same area (if a town gets repopulated after a server restart). Or it is an uncommon situation which only comes to light when people have been living near it for some time.
The steps to check whether this is a bug would include:
Go to the actual place where all the Ice Holes currently are (server 1, south from the big town), and roughly count them.
Go to the actual place on a different server, and check whether there are the same amount of holes.
Problems:
We can't track coordinates anymore, it is hard to find the same spot (but coordinates are still there server-side).
I assume that the different servers generate the same landscape. They may use a different seed. If this is the case, you could set up a new server using the same seed as server 1.
It's a shame you can't copy and paste the address.
It shouldn't be that hard just to make a button that automatically sends the log once you get the pop-up?
Oh well, I guess you should be careful with those things anyway.
For the e-mail, you can contact Jason using this:
It's in an image, because the internet is a big bad place where robots search for your info and automatically collect everything they find.
Thank god they don't have eyes and can't easily extract info from an image (yet)!
There is currently a stuck wolf in the 'big city' on server 1 (located SE between the graves near the belltower).
I did not manage to recreate the bug yet, because I suck at setting up my own test-server (on a windows machine).
Also, south of the village are some Ice Holes.
I'm fairly sure I did not see those in an earlier play-through in that village (yesterday), and there are lots of them, I mean, lots.
Speculation Alert!
It looks like it has something to do with penguins trying to enter the Ice Hole, but changing direction, forming an Ice Hole on another tile.
You say I'm crazy! But I know I'm not the only one!
Saw this one as well, in the editor this bug is fixed, but something is going on.
Let's try to reproduce the bug and find a way to fix it.
I'll try to reproduce the bug.
Don't bother trying to fix something that isn't broken right?
I saw a stuck shot wolf today again, are you sure it's fixed?
(It could also be from the overloaded server1 disk, but I highly doubt that)
I agree, this 'bug' is 'fixed'.
Same situation today:
with a nice checkerboard berryfarm as well:
this is discrimination
this is not civilization
it's even more abusive than to get killed in the game
Call it whatever you want to call it.
I call it, making sure I have fun while playing the game by making sure nobody ruins it.
It is not locking somebody out of the game, they are still able to play where I'm not around.
If this is discrimination in your dictionary, so it'll be.
Did this occur once or in all of you games?
If this happened once:
did others have the same problem? (it is a server related issue in this case)
If this is in all of your games:
Did you try re-downloading the game? (it might be a client issue)
Today I joined a just restarted server where my mother was just spawned as Eve.
She found a camp that we managed to repopulate, but something strange was going on.
Only half the tiles were old, the other half was regenerated terrain.
This resulted in pictures like:
The once majestic berry farm was like:
I can tell the other half was regenerated, because there was a surprising amount of burdock and onions nearby, of course, also in checkerboard:
There was also a stuck bear nearby... but that makes sense when spaghetti is going on.
I can confirm this also happened to me today.
@Alleria
every player interested in preserving of ressources can do the math
i presented it
...
You didn't use one very important fact in your calculation.
People don't always eat when they are very low on hunger and waste food.
Very often I see children eating rabbit/carrot pie. They overeat by a lot.
If you only make rabbit pies, they overeat less, and you preserve that extra carrot (that you didn't use for the pie) and let them eat that.
Carrot Pie = 5x4=20 ( Carrot=5 )
Berry Pie = 10x4=40 ( Gooseberry=3x6=18 !!! )
Rabbit Pie = 12x4=48 ( Cooked Rabbit=8 !!! )
...
...
This is incorrect. You forgot about the eating bonus. This is currently at 2. This means that every time you eat, you get two extra food for free.
The only time you get full value out of your rabbit/carrot pie is when you eat is as an adult who has only two hunger left.
This is very rarely the case.
A rabbit pie restores 14 hunger. A very reasonable amount, because you will be remembered to eat when having six hunger left.
The food difference between putting and not putting the carrot into the pie = 56 + 7 vs 72.
Only a difference of 9 food! If a child eats only one single bite of a rabbit/carrot pie, this is wasted.
TL:DR
math didn't check out.PeopleChildren overeat a lot when eating pies
Children should be shot on sight when holding a pie.
