#151 Re: Main Forum » Discord - The breeding grounds Of Griefing » 2019-08-06 00:54:33

Party mode players are worse than griefers.
They make a fenced place and steal all goods from all towns and put inside, then they give access to their friends, so the gate never breaks. Also, they starve all kids inside, only their folks can play inside.

“Have you ever tried fences?”

Yes, but they born inside the fences, grow ‘till thirteen, steal the hRose alongside with swords, iron, tools, then they run to their fenced place where their party mode friends are, gain access to their gate and lock things inside.

I remember Jason didn’t want friends to be born to the same mother, because it’s strange when your mother or your uncle is your room mate, then Jason opted for twins. But now, four, five, six people can be found each other and play in party mode, even if they are mother-son or from different families, they can even send someone to donkey town each two hours if they want to.

Of course not all party mode players are bad, but most of them are. Last arc, I followed my own daughter when she took a horse and put two sworded bps and two baskets of steel, she went till the southern rift, waited in front of a gate until a guy from another family gave her access, there were more than ten horses inside, a lot of bows, arrows, swords, mountains of steel.
I went to the gate, asked her to let me in, she opened and stabbed me and then a guy from another family shot me as well, probably to steal my stuff. I thought about cursing her, but what if she curses me then and ask her friends to curse me when they born in my family?

They are worse than griefers, because they born as our kids and steal without us noticing that.

We born inside a town, we didn’t build that town, if it has one gate, what can we do, communication doesn’t work, jobs don’t last long, if we lock engines we might get cursed, killed, we can’t do everything and people don’t understand what we are doing, in the meantime party players keep stealing stuff to bring to some other town.

#152 Re: Main Forum » Fruit trees » 2019-08-05 21:57:31

It would be more realistc as well.
All of our civilizations, no matter the race or the place, are based on berry farms. When there are no berries, every kid starts to eat any food and it ran out quite fast.

I would like to farm bananas, why not? I would like to see, some farms as efficient as berry farms, and see different families being based on different foods. Rice, bean, wahoo, apple, grape. And mangos are hard to eat, we need to knives and plates. I have a mango tree on my garden, IRL, and when there are mangos, I just pick them, wash and eat, without using knives or plates. If it was easier to eat, I bet there would be more mango trees in towns.

Bear, cow, bison meat is a good idea as well, we eat them in real life, why not in the game? It would generate a lot of different kind of pies, imagine "Banana pie".

The game is going well, Jason is making good changes, he has a lot of work to do and I would like to see those foody update in the future, would be amazing.

#153 Re: Main Forum » Weapon bug? » 2019-08-04 20:36:21

I’ve witnessed this bug before.
When I see someone wielding some object and that person leaves, then when I see the same person years after, I see this person wielding the same item while they are not, I’ve seen people walking normally with bloody bow, or even babies typing more than ten words.
It might be related to some cache issue.

Also, it only happens to me when I’m using some modified client with zoom out, it has never happened while I’m using vanilla game, so I can’t blame the developer. It might be something related to zoom out and cache.

You probably saw that person with a bow before and then the same person stabbed you with a sword, but you were still seeing the bow. Unless your cause of death was “Killed by bow”.

#154 Re: Main Forum » Free account. » 2019-08-04 20:02:39

At least Tarr will be very happy when he logs in using his second account and sees his monument and all the roads players made around it.

#155 Re: Main Forum » Aim the bear, shot your friend » 2019-08-04 19:08:07

Oh, I was in that town, you shot a little guy. I saw you with the "murder face" to shoot the bear, ended up shoting the kid and then the bear bit you, some crazy woman stole the bow and arrows and put in a horse cart. I tried to lure bears away, but the holes in fences were too small, in the corners, I ended up got "nibbled" as well.
This town was horrorible, someone trapped us inside two times, because we had only one gate, so they kept stealing bellows and adobes and then making stone walls or forges in front the gate, hopefully we always had extra bellows and adobe hidden within fences, also there was no water inside, so we had to go outside to get it and a lot of people got murdered there, because the nearest well was a little bit far.

#156 Re: Main Forum » New changes are headed in the right direction!!! » 2019-08-03 06:49:59

Well, for sure the game is less boring.
I’ve been murdered more, but at least my deaths generally were due to someone raiding my town, someone shooting me to steal my stuff outside town and whatsoever, but 95% of them were from different families. So now I feel more safe nearby my family, I can triste them more, at least when there are more than one family in the rift box.

There are more jobs being created, wall builders are getting more experienced and making better and better magic fences, since a stone wall is more vulnerable than twig fences. Some military jobs are starting to grow as well, people definitively are interacting more. I feel like I’m in some universe parallel with communist kingdoms without a king or a dictator.

I’m really liking it, because I’m seeing he is testing and improving, not just doing whathever he thinks is right.

I hope trading, currencies get to be a thing in OHOL. Because nowadays the most common interaction between families is war. Now, with the new PEACE update it might changes a bit creating a multi-family town that can’t aniquilate each other with a sword soon or later, what will be very interesting to see.

From my experience, outsiders are sneaking in when you open the gate for you to get out.
so I don't see how this design is safer either.

Yes, yesterday one outsider was able to wipe my whole family when someone opened the gate and she entered with a horse, two swords in cart and one in BP, she killed even me two years old. Since we can’t close spring doors, they have time enough to slip into the town with a bunch of swords. Only guards would avoid raiders, but we would need a lot of them what means less people “working” and a lot of people eating, unless we have only one gate with two guards, but it never lasts longer anyway, sometime someone one will get inside and kill everyone.

#158 Re: Main Forum » Bow is too easy to make » 2019-08-03 05:58:49

It would avoid feral zebra for the first 30 mins.
I’ve playing after some apocalypses and it is real, people make a bow quite fast, there are a lot of milkweed and whatnot.
In my last time after an apocalypse, I saw a bunch of naked people roaming with a bow.

The problems is, after 30 mins it’s extremely easy to steal a bowl from a dead camp or even an alive one.

To be honest, in previous 7 days I’ve been killed more than 20 times by bow and most of them happened more than five hours after apocalypse when there bowls everywhere.

Everytime I start an Eve camp I let a bow and arrow behind a tree for self defense, because when I see those feral Eves roaming with a bow starving their kids, I kill them before they kill me. But most of the people don’t know how to defend themselves, making the first weapon harder to make would let those players even more vulnerable while experienced griefers could make a bow (with more effort since they have to spend some years looking for a loose bowl) and die less often since there are less weapons for people self defense.

Today, I was in an ~40 minutes old Eve camp as a kid, when another Eve shot my mother, she hid behind a tree, I tried to show people where she were but we didn’t even have a bow, so my uncle went to make one, in the meantime the feral Eve shot my aunt, I stole the arrow and the feral Eve ran. More than ten years later, when I was already able to use a bow, my uncle came with a bow and arrow. He searched the feral for years, until he got shot, my sister took the bow but no signal of Eve, they can’t find them when they are behind trees, I don’t use invisible trees sprites as well, because the last time I tried to edit sprites, the game freezed in “waiting to born” while I could hear everything happening, finally when that Eve shot an old man from another family, my sister could kill her. She died after killing at least 4 people.

If that Eve wanted to grief, she would grief anyway, even if the bows were harder to make. She would simply take more time, stealing a bowl from my camp for instance, on the other hand, unexperienced players take too long to make a bow, my uncle took more than ten minutes, imagine if it were even harder, the feral would kill all of us, unless someone is smart enough to make a bow quickly.

It might be good, but might be real bad as well. It worth a shot, at least unexperienced players would be less interested on investing their time to make a bow, while experienced ones would be more overpowered against Eve camps.

I don’t know how hard is to make a bow in real life, in OHOL people take 2 years to make one using common items.

#159 Re: Main Forum » Tried being a Paper Merchant » 2019-08-02 01:36:57

Haha it’s very cool.
I really would like a better way to trade goods, like a merchant clothing that avoids pvp or something like that, the problems is that it can be exploited, used to steal things and etc.

Everytime I try to hangout alone, I end up shot or with a knife/sword in my belly.

Today I was an Eve, found a cart full of clay and a dead body, might be devoured by a boar. I took the cart, got rid of clay and started to collect wild food. After some time I found a fenced town, foregeins can’t get in fenced towns because of magic fences, but a part of the fence was made of stone, it was a kitchen in the corner and there was a hole on it, so I could get into the town (probably some villager broke it to escape), it was Cola town, a guy with love emote gave me a BP for free, I gave him a basket of onions but he rejected it, some seconds later black skin people raided the town, they came through the kitchen’s hole, they were in two, an Eve and her son, with two swords each and managed to get rid of everyone, about eight people (myself included), the black Eve died as well, before I died another Eve (Eve deathrage if I am not mistaken) stabbed the guy with a knife (he was in cooldown because he also stabbed me with a knife when I stole one of his swords) sadly I couldn’t see he dying.

With much less effort than me, that Eve got a ton of items, such as bps, swords, a horse, iron, even a town if she has fixed the hole and made new gates.

We need guards or something to sell goods, but it doesn’t worth it, since it’s easier to loot the item in a dead town, steal from an alive town or even to kill full wore wanderes from another family. Producing paper or gathering wild food to trade is too much effort to receive a wolf hat or even a golden crown. It needs more rare/hard to make stuff even if it’s only comestic, might be some rare rabbits, deers, jaguars. Another wonderful thing would be machines extremely hard to make, harder than bell towers, that produces specific items such as better back packs, canned food, jeans, reinforces steel, different kids of clothing, watering cans, etc.
Rivers, oceans, islands would help it a lot as well, so one part of the map only have bronze for example and they have to make bronze tools, while somewhere else there are steel tools.
Skills like in real life too, if I smith for 30 years, of course I will make much better tools than someone who started today. So people who know nothing about a profession would make a common tool (like the tools we use nowadays in OHOL), on the other hand experienced people would make wonderful tools, much better than the common ones. It would helps trade a lot.

I know those changes are very far, may never happen, might happen in 2 years, who knows?

Actually, it’s not true.
First of all, greedy players are those who wants only their friends to live in their place. Playing in party mode, starving all babies they get and killing all wandered in their gates. Because only their lineage can survive and go trough, they spawn as en Eve and go to the gate to get access and always choose the specific name, because they want that name to thrive. In my opinion, it is greed.
Nothing wrong with playing in party mode, but why don’t you use a private server?

Second, I dind’t killed myself. My first live, I was a boy in a small camp near the southern rift. I was 12~14 when I woman (with back pack, seal coat and furr pants) shot my mother Eve, the only fertile. We kept working, but my little brother was trying to make a bow to kill her, she saw and killed him. I didn’t want to live anymore, I just stole his arrow and ran until I starved. Then, I was born inside that discord village, and no one fed me. I didn’t SID because if I will lose my gene points, they will lose it as well. Then I was born to a shot Eve, there was another Eve with bow and a devious face in front of her, I just /die and born in discord village again, but my mother was an brand new Eve, black skin, it was when I realized they were playing in party mode, she didn’t feed me, I ran to check the place and there were fences and gates, small farm and two bow and arrows, but starved. Then I was born in the middle of the wild, my mother was running, I followed her and there she was, the woman who killed my first mother Eve, she was hunting Eves, I checked family tree and she didn’t feed any of her kids. Alas, I was born in the discord village again, different mother, this time was a ginger young girl, she fed me, but my grandmother asked “the code”, I didn’t know it and just said “F”, then she told my mom to don’t feed me, I stayed at the fire to be alive longer and I saw another Eve near the gate, she made “Hmpf” and “Yoohoo” and then my grand mother opened the gate and gaver her access, I think that was “the code”, in the meantime more babies were being born and starving or /die, some seconds before I die, I saw and shot Eve coming from south, she gave access to someone to the northern gate and died. Perhaps some angry murdered baby decided to revenge? If so, the party mode pro players were generating more Eves who didn’t  feed their babies because they wanted revenge.
There were at least three different Eves inside, three different skin tones and all of them starving kids, myself included. At last, I was born as an Eve, found an abandoned small camp, settled there, there were some bowls ready already, so I could easily start a farm, had some kids, thankfully all of them stayed, we were doing great ‘till the apocalypse happens and we were teleported to the middle of a bad land, my 10 years old girl didn’t understand anything, she couldn’t stop asking “what?” until she starved, I ran with my baby, alas there were no food around and I starved.

I won’t be surprised if my gene score reaches 0.

An apocalypse just happened 2~3 hours after the reset, I was playing as an Eve, only had 3 children and the apocalypse triggered starving all of us,
There were a lot of resources and I could easily feed my children, since we had a small farm going.
I'm not sure but I thought the condition to trigger the apocalypse was "six helpless children per mother", I didn't had more than three kids, so it wasn't my fault. But in last life, I was born in a fenced village where people were starving the babies who weren't connected to their discord, It was near the edges, so their friends as Eves could easily find them and get access to the gate, they starved a ton of babies because they were pro players playing together where no noob can disturb them. Could it be the reason for the apocalopolis?
If so, the shot backfired, because they themselves destroyed hours of work palying in party mode.

#162 Re: Main Forum » Feedback Regarding Trading » 2019-07-30 23:08:06

You have a point here, but I doesn't agree with scarcity/abundance thing.
I mean, if I produce fency clothing in mass, for instance, I can change them for some iron, even if I have tons of iron. It's never enough, we always need it.
I agree we need to have abundance of an item to trade, most of the time, but the item we will get doesn't necessary be scarce in our town. We always need rope and iron.

Another example is gold, if a town wants gold and my town have four crowns, I would trade the crowns for some iron or may be back packs.

And we don't need to trade with towns, we can trade with people. If a guy from another town wants a set of fency clothing, I would change them for four baskets of rabbits. His town doesn't have technology to produce that, but our town have, so he can bring his bunnies and get an cool set of clothing and I bet his people will be jealous.

But we have some problems. The first is: It's too easy to steal and too hard to guard. Foregeins can go inside, feed sheeps and make clothing and then leave, they can steal the gold or iron.
And when the town is surrounded by fences, it always ends up someone trapping people inside soon or later, since the last update, it happened in all fenced towns I was born.
Auto-giving access to people who was born inside the fence (whose mother had access) would avoid this kind of griefing. It is so frustating being trapped inside a town.
Having a guard never works because having a king/president never works, they either have God Syndrome or are griefers.

Auto-giving access to the same family doesn't work, because families kill each other in the first hours, so only one family thrieves and spread building a couple of towns.

The other problems is that we don't have that many rare and precious stuff to trade, we need more tech stuff, tech clothing, tech tools. Might be a reinforced iron using a tech machine, better bps, med kits, prettier floors....

We need a better way to avoid stealing and more cool items to trade.

When spawning in early game villages it is tough to survive and generally score will go down.

When spawning in late game villages it is easy to survive until 60 if you know what you are doing, so score will go up.

And now some people are trying to force a baby policy, killing or starving babies. Principally the cursed donkey people with black text.

#164 Re: Main Forum » Three Baby Policy » 2019-07-27 07:53:01

"FUCK OFF OTHERS, I DESERVE T BE ALIVE, THEY DON'T. BECAUSE YES.".
I was in wolf family a lot of times, and it was ridiculous. People were not working, instead they were counting others's babies, threatening them and killed them.
If people cares about score, they shouldn't play, because people were literally shooting babies, stabbing babies, I went from 69th to 798th in one life.

The map is small, people can easily find any village. A lot of pissed murdered babies just borned in another town and came back to revenge, in one single life I saw more than three 10/15 years old kids coming with bows to kill their headsman, and all of them were fifth, eightth and etc cousins, so I knew they were coming from another town.

There are too many people and you dont want to die? Work to get more food or travel to a better spot. Doesn't make sense be standing on the fire if you will kill your babies.

I'm not talking about you Lava, I'm talking about the people who were not working, but were standing on the fire telling to kill babies, threatening people and then getting murdered fifteen years later by the reincarnated baby.

I visited the south of the map and there are tons of wild resources, while the north is poor. But people kept killing babies, instead of working/migrate. #erafã

It might work in real life, because there is no reicarnation (I think so) and there is nowhere else where people can migrate to have more resources (at least its true for most of them, like in China), but here in the game people can migrate for free and babies will reincarnate, some of them feeling like revenge themselves.

Also, I saw a lot of donkeys (black text) killing people because of this three babies policy, when I had my second kid, I had to ran a lot, because I donkey were chasing me with a bow and devious face for more than five minutes. My luck was that my yum were high and she was old, had to stop to eat some times.

Haha, something similar happened to me today. My mother was an Eve, I was born, she named and cursed me, then she abandoned me. I was "WTF";

I was born in a village full of people, food, tools. No starvations, no foregeins and a lot of resources.
It was confusing, because my last lives were so hard, no food, a lot of foregeins with bows hunting humans, no food, no iron tools, bones everywhere and no food.

Print of a life inside a 500x500 box (Second life in a row being shot as an  Eve):
3kTzJGo.jpg

I decided to explore a little bit, I heard the Rift-Box was 500x500, so I tried to reach the border, I saw wild resources everywhere, bananas, onions, then I thought "There might be a lot of Rift-Boxes and we born in different ones each time", "It might be a new box" I thought. I kept going north, walked more than 500 tiles and no border, "there might be different sizes". But after 800 tiles, I found no border, after that I headed west and could easily find it after 200 tiles.
GPpoBnU.jpg

I could see some foregeins in the other side, but they didn't saw me. I continued going north, trying to reach the north border. And I found it after going 2000 tiles north from where I was born , but I found the another-side border and then I realized, "They are inside a box, I'm out". I found a bow, tried to shoot animals in the another side, but I couldn't. I saw a guy, he saw me as well, tried to shoot him (for science) but couldn't.

HZSOAnX.jpg

I travelled west trying to find the west border, but died of old age before reaching there. This box seems much larger then. It is at least 2000x1700.

4bop2Zc.jpg

I would like to understand how it works. The size, if there are more than one "Rift-Box" (I don't know the name), if there is a way to going to the other side, because I saw two people apparently from the same family in different sides of the Rift.

lZ3ZK41.jpg

500x500 is too chaotic, but if it is 3000x3000 sounds better. I haven't seen anything about how it works, here in the forum. Is there any topic about it?

#168 Re: Main Forum » Jason this is the worst thing you've ever done and I'm really upset » 2019-07-26 04:18:27

I literally lost eight lifes in a row. Five of them, My mother nor I could find food and two of them my mother was murdered, last life I was Eve and got shot within three minutes. No food, no animals. There are more food in deserts than in green biomes, bows and arrows everywhere.
I think he should change the life token cooldown to ten minutes haha because it's the average of time now. It turned into a kind of battle royale where you need to eat but there is no food.
Also bodies everywhere, more bodies than round stones.

Well, I reminds me the temperature update, it was a mess in the beggining, but now it's fine. I hope it happens again.

Totally agree.
Today a woman shoot my daughter because she accidentally force feed her stew.
At least the woman got 5 curses, I hope she got sent to donkey town.
A lot of players are new-ish, they know how to play, but they don’t know a lot. Most of them don’t yum, they accidentally (or intentionally) feed someone, but they don’t know it is bad (because generally it is not, ‘cuz most of players don’t yum).

If you teach them, they will learn.
But if you threaten them, they might get pissed off and do it on purpose again and I don’t think it is a reason to kill. A reason to curse, may be. Don’t be rude in-game, teach them and they will stop I bet.

I very often see people in-game saying “If you do it again, I kill you”. They’re not teaching, they are just trying people’s patience, starting a silly fight.

When someone kills because of a chain-breaker, I insta curse/kill them. Unless the chain-breaker is a griefer (doing something bad, besides force feeding someone who threatened them).

They started it yesterday, I was born in a old town, my mother travelled there by horse. My sister was the last fertile and decided to leave, I followed her, she found a horse in the middle of the way, but she was nice and went slowly, so I could follow her till this place, both of us were unnamed. She told me she started it because of wars, "Too many sword war" she said. I couldn't blame her. She also told me that she had all the "red balls" needed.

I thought about stopping her, but the server always "wipes" anyway when there are a new update, so I let her be, I spent the rest of my life bringing stones and ropes for doors. When I was about to die, she named "Jesus" and I named her "Maria", what turned into "Jesusangel Ziv" and "Mariaantonia Ziv". I am not sure if the apocalipse really happened though.

And about the biomes' size, you can check it through wondible map, you can even search a name and see where that person died, so you can check the place where you was born/dead and see the size of the biomes around.

When I was a baby, my mother and aunt (Flora and Fauna) were going to this town, I was born in the wild about 1K from there, my mother named me "Ugly", but it turned into "Ugochukwu". When we arrived there, a little boy saw us and said "!!!!!!!", he ran telling about invadors and people came with sword,  my mother and aunt wielded their swords and went to war. A guy started to chase my little sister and I stabbed him, alas my sister starved.

At the end, my mother, my aunt and I were alive. I felt guilty, because that town was pretty advanced and my family just killed almost all of them. They told me to go back to our town, but I decided to live in Killian and repopulate it, keep the work going. I started a new fire, made some pads, ran a yum chain and then... Beatrix Stone came with a sword, I ran a lot and found a bow, she got another bow as well but I could shoot her first. I felt really bad for her, because it was her town and she was just trying to take her town back, she put the sad face. All the casualities decreased her score and she wanted to make it up. But it was her or me, I care about my score too.

Then, Chris Tarr came on a horse, he was very old, about 60yo, I wielded my sword and killed him. I was the last fertile and our family killed a lot, I couldn't risk it. After that, you came, Lion and I simplified everything saying the Tarr family came to kill us, but we got them.

When I was about 35 years old, my computer just decided it wanted to update and I couldn't do anything, there was no "Cancel" button. I was putting that update of for months though.

So, you were Lolly Radish.
I was there, I was a kid when you died.
You were sooooo annoying that you almost got a third stab, but you died before the woman could do that.
Literally everyone hated you, even me, a baby.

You were walking around talking bullsh*t, eating the food without working. People stopped working because they were afraid of you.
They said YOU made a lot of knives, when I was born the knives were already done, so I can't say if it's true.
But everyone saw you trying to light the forge (I wonder what would you do), and then they stabbed you, before you could make more knives.

The town literally stopped because you were scaring and annoying everyone. When you died, everything worked properly and we destroyed the knives (that 'someone' made).

You only got three curses, and it wasn't because the griefing. They cursed you after you threated us saying "this town is dead", people were afraid of you coming back to grief more and decided to curse you to send to donkey town. Alas, only three people had a curse token. I didn't curse because I was a kid and I forgot about it after some time, because everything was wonderful after you death.
