Nah, don't be scared, I'm sure you can manage.

#153 Re: Main Forum » What is racism? » 2020-03-28 12:22:26

No, it's fine. I'm sure it was a joke, don't bother bro.

Damn I can't wait big_smile
I'm sure it would be hard, and then maybe need some adjustement, but anyway, let's first practise and find out !
Jason, when will the update be live ? big_smile

#156 Re: Main Forum » Are you excited about the update ? » 2020-03-27 22:18:34

It's not the only thing that is updated wink
There will be some tension when you go out in the wilderness, right ? It sounds good to me !

Quiver will be usefull against bears attacks in towns, but not necessarily useful in hunting outside of town (unless hunting bears).

No, even to hunt bears, you better use a backpack with a pie and a sharp stone.
For the in-town attack, I'm not sure if you really want to waste a rope to make a quiver, better have another bucket, box or bow.

#159 Re: Main Forum » Big change incoming: animal attacks can happen on non-empty tiles » 2020-03-27 14:09:52

Does the quiver take the place of backpack or can we wear both of them ?

In first case, I will always chose backpack over quiver, since you can put one extra thing in the backpack (like a rope to get the sheep, or a pie to sustain in moutain)

I think yumming is the way to go. The more yum foods there is in a town the more iron one could get. With more than 20 yum chain one could bring tons of iron with very little cost.

Indeed : easy in a big town who doesn't critically need iron ; hard on a small village just created who need iron to survive.

With the berries/egg nerf and the iron mining as hungry work coming together, I'm not sure if it will be balanced.
I'm not happy with both changes happening at the same time.

And I must say that I loved infinite wild berries.

You guys love quote the quoted quote quoted.

#163 Re: Main Forum » Fun cannot be implemented » 2020-03-26 18:18:49

You are right : I forgot the hungry works !
Well it will be challenging even for veteran, at least smile
I must say that getting a bunch of iron was really easy. I want to try this update anyway : after that I tell you what I think.

Dodge,

the all point of Spongewood is to drive thread away from their initial meaning by arguing on things only he cares about. He also tend to make "sausage" quote, which only shows his own lack of interesting content.

Once you understand that, you won't have to read him or respond to him.

Or maybe Jason will show us how to kill a bear without using mods (and dev rights).
Seriously, I'd love to see a movie how you deal with it.
Finally, there will be something fun.

I think it's easy to do.
But you can still die in the process. You have to stay calm : if you fail you don't only waste some kindling like when you are forging.
I haven't try with a quiver for now.

I wonder how hard it is to kill a Bear in real life with 3 arrows.

#167 Re: Main Forum » Can we finally have finite wild berries, pls? » 2020-03-25 22:16:17

It will be the same without infinite berries : nature is providing in wilderness.

There is currently more iron on the map, with the placement of the veins, than there ever was before, with the loose iron on the ground.

One sample showed 51 veins within a 1-minute walk (on foot) from a town.  Those veins have 4 loose iron each, so 254 loose iron within a 1-minute walk from town.

You will have no trouble harvesting the 9 (or however much) iron needed to bootstrap mining.

If anything, bootstrapping a town's iron needs will be much less tedious than before, because finding the iron (by following ley lines) will involve much less random wandering around.

What changes is what happens AFTER bootstrapping.

Rope mines still produce 21 iron on average, but each piece produced is hungry work.

It's nice, combined with the animal attack debugged smile

#169 Re: Main Forum » Big change incoming: animal attacks can happen on non-empty tiles » 2020-03-25 10:36:50

It will put more pressure on milkweed, I hope quiver will not use a full rope :s

In a special server discord that I'm part of, someone said that they knew about some bugs, but "...  but at the same time i don't want to slow down the progress lmao".

I doubt that who said this is the only person who has thought this way.

After all, if you know about a bug, but want more interesting content than bug fixes, and the game designer prefers to fix boring bugs before adding more interesting content, why would one report a bug?

I was wondering why you created this post. So I read it again : I missed the personal attack on Jason the first time, which is the whole point of your post : the remain is only rhetorical decoration. But well, you have so bad taste, I feel sorry for you.

Spoonwood wrote:

Thus, again, that this game in general is about playing one small part in a 'larger story' isn't accurate.

I feel like it when you add something to a village, or grief a town, or build a part of a road to another village or point of interest, you do play a small part in a larger story, you don't have to know it all to play a part in it.

And now from another perspective, a short story : A few days ago, I once find a small stone structure, in the middle of nowhere. There were bones inside, a knife around and a crown.
Even if there wasn't probably any 'real' story about it, even if I didn't know the guy who made that, it makes a story in my mind of a fallen king (where I did not play a part : I just discovered it).

also, tomatoes are better now than berries

thanks.

So what are the berries needed for ?
Not soil.
So for backpack and whool / mutton I guess.

Is it possible to not plant berries, so near a nice natural berries spot, where you keep the pen ? Then teach the kids which food to pick and restrain the use of berries maybe.

It's like feeding a wolf to grief a town.

In fact, it makes the forum alive and in flesh, and also show how Jason is open to criticism, and fight against any form of censureship. But sometimes some post feels more like repeatiting advertising with the big shitty headline of the worse newspapper you can find.

Damn I feel better.

Regarding the life of the forum, I like more some kind of ahem .. how to say that ... mortification, maybe ? Who is maintaining the spirit alive. If you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I know for a fact that Jason is not Jesus. Just ... trust me on this one.

So, is it better to let the people enjoy and stop complaining ?
Or,
to make your own game to be less frustated ?
Or,
to get refund ?
Or,
whateveryouthinkcouldbeagoodmemeoraseriousthing.
