In carrot cost is also calculated the cost to produce the Carrot seeds
A bowl of berries has 6 berries, a bush produces 7

same reason muton needs 6/7 of berries and carrots have seeds cost included

#177 Re: Main Forum » Yummers and MinMaxers ,I did the math for you! » 2020-04-09 13:37:02

I had some more time to procrastinate today so I calculated our Last week's consumption.

we operated at an efficiency of 28 food per bowl of water and 5048 food perused Iron.
Essentially we use 18 buckets of water and 1 iron to keep feeding ourselves
Screenshot-1.png

*calculation has an about 4% margin of error.

A Non-Forced way to introduce trade/co-operation and conflict

-First, heavily lower the probability of special resources to spawn ( sulfur, horses, rubber tree, palm, bananas, tarry spots, seals, etc )
-Then, creating the first Homeland spawns A Lot of the special resource of your race to the nearest specialty biome of your family.
(blacks homeland spawns extra sulfur/horses in deserts, ginger spawns extra tarry spots, brown spawn extra rubber trees, and Palms. etc)

-Making a homeland enables a CLAIMED area in a radius.
-Any Race can interact with any Special biome as long as it is UNCLAIMED (out of a homeland radius).
-None of the other families will be able to interact with the Special biomes that exist in the Claimed area except the Homeland Owner family.
-Capturing an already started Homeland claims access to all the special biomes of the area without spawning new resources of your race specialty.
-Entering a homeland's area activates dropsy in all of the special biomes in their area and warns you with -Area of FAMILY NAME- and the player gets an arrow pointing to their well.

The goal of this change:

- Achieve a difference in geographical resource distribution. (Scarcity and Abundance)
- Differentiate the map location that is best to start a village depending on your Race
- Been able to live alone in scarcity or trade with others surpluses
- Enable Sphere of influence and Map domination
- Raiding for resources.
- Trade will exist when you chose it as a better option and not because you are forced

TL;DR:
The Racial Restriction is disabled out of the homelands areas
Special resources get a lot more scarce in the wilderness but abundant in homeland areas
If you own a homeland you access any biome inside it.

This is a fixes-update Weak. We might persuade him to fix the berries as well.

Dodge this will double the cost of meat pies , and cooked muton will be less efficient than berries.

just let the poop decay faster.

I tried to look it through the Wondibles map But I got this.

eve-1.png
eve2.png

So you might think that there was all and all 6 eves in a cluster and they spread out, but looking carefully these  6 eves are not the families we currently have.
Searching from 4/4/20 to 6/4/20 I got 100 eves. And this was their distribution.

eve-3.png

in those 100 Eves There are donkey Eves and tutorial Eves That i didn't include in the picture.
So we have some eves spawn too far north and too far south.
Also, we have a great Gap of 2200 tiles from east to west. Did our lineages migrate that far in 2 days?
This is very confusing for us to understand why we are so spread out.
Please could we have a picture of the situation?

#183 Re: Main Forum » BB rooms are pretty useless! » 2020-04-06 09:23:34

I like Cordy's suggestion here, max 2 Berrie patch though. Eat Milk (meat pies are for travelers/emergency)
Divide the Smithing area to 3 rooms, smithing center above the nursery, left the rubber production and right the carpenter/storage.

The nursery has to be a room with fire and clothing storage.
All rooms have to be the Biggest they can be without losing their insulation property, Is this 10*10 or More?

#184 Re: Main Forum » I played with a newbee today. » 2020-04-04 15:48:21

It might be beacause of the too many clicks overflow the server memory or something. (wasd movement is constant 1-tile clicks)

BUT!
there is no reason to not have backpack Shortcuts and other useful staff besides movement.
Shift+Q - cycle through backpack invetory.
C- pick up a bb
and more

his response to the game,
Backpack is hard to click on.
controls are hard

could Vanilla use the Hetow WASD movement and shortcuts?
Q- backpack use,
E - eating/use on you for clothes,
https://github.com/hetuw/OneLife

Is there a reason for wasd not to exist in Vanila?

#186 Re: Main Forum » hetuw mode » 2020-04-03 20:15:39

Joining the game today I saw a Global chat embedded, Is this a new thing or it was always there?

In any case a very nice add-on, I could straight communicate with other villages share coordinates and co-operate.

The environment is the biggest influencer of behavior.

Every life I set up a cheap cow-pen, and I SPAM milk!
Gallons of milk! I only let 3 buckets for other use ( 2 water/ 1 dung) and I fill all the others with milk!
I produce so much that the noobs are starting to recognize it as a food and eat it!
Many of them are amazed by the new food source and start asking how to make it Or come and watching me do it.

Change the environment, Make milk as available as berries and pies. Disrupt the berry farm the kitchen and the nursery by flooding it with Milk!
Make them discover a new world!

(best set up to teach them/ produce is: 3 cows, a pile of corns inside the pen and a corn farm outside of it, a box on the fence to store buckets and bowls.)

Excel is my hobby actually, I do analysis for fun.

I haven't calculated the food efficiency of turkeys because they cant be produced at your will you only gather them from the wild.

also to calculate the cost of hunting them I would need to do HEAVY logistical and diminishing returns calculations that I don't have the data either the knowledge to do so. The cost of turkeys is the food you burn walking trying to find them + 1/101 iron + 1 water.
Their water efficiency would be under 218. Milk is still better than hunting turkeys btw tongue

#189 Re: Main Forum » Yummers and MinMaxers ,I did the math for you! » 2020-04-02 21:17:55

my new favorite way to play and Teach/influence people.

collect all buckets of the village and produce milk, distribute them in the bakery, smithing, nursing, stew area, berry patch.
(let only 4 buckets with water, in smithing, bakery, bush/carrot/wheat farm and 1 next to corn.

eat from a bucket of milk to kill all the shorn sheep ( let one sheep).
fill a box with poop so you don't run out of soil even if all sheep get killed

Watch people learning to eat from milk buckets,
coming in the sheep pen and asking how to feed/breed sheep
see people actually change their attitude and start feeding bbs.

The best way to influence people's way of living is through changing their environment.

kinda weird iron scores. why so much iron for mutton pie? isn't it a one-time investment for the iron? calculates shovel for compost?

Shit! I had the same question as you Pein. it was a copy-paste mistake, I corrected it in the datasheet but forgot to upload the new image.
there you have it now refreshed.

first of all here is a messy screenshot and the source to look them yourself
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ … 6&range=A1

ohol.png

let's explain now

Yummers:
-collum B and N (food/ water) show the food intake you have in relation to the Water cost of this food source.
Collum B shows the Mono-diet water efficiency and collum N shows the Yamming efficiency ( to build my yum chain I only used the most efficient foods in-game)  Even with the most efficient foods, Yuming efficiency drops under 100 after the 5th food bite. Milk mono-diet efficiency is 391.

MinMaxers:
Milk those cows every day smile

I try to logically follow up the paths, that makes it more clear than just numbers
also you can convert iron into water by calculating the kerosene costs, but in gameplay makes no difference now that we are out of the rift, it's just wasteful to use kero for iron

if you want to replace berries, you need a simple enough system that newbies can follow

you should tone down the food per unit count since the bonus is removed, that changes up things, nice spreadsheet otherwise

I had converted iron to water before but I separated it again once we don't convert kero to iron anymore.
Food per unit is calculated with a function and the Bonus = 0 in that function.

What do you mean by Simple enough system? "if you want to replace berries, you need a simple enough system that newbies can follow"

A simple enough system of food production, or of food value representation?

At least do staw hats they litter A LOT!

Morti! You are the greater builder Ohol ever meet. You have to start a construction company, have you ever tried to hire someone to help you ?

Hierarchy is nice for co-operation, I use it for rabbit hunting.
One is doing the work and the other brings the raw materials using a horse cart.

Coconut this will fill the map with abandoned white villages and further apart towns making their logistics worse.
