a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

To fix the potential problem of your property being fenced inside someone else's property, maybe you should only allow private property to be created if it does not currently have any other properties within the proposed borders? It also fixes griefers trying to add multiple gates (with different access grants on each) to block access to something crucial.
Also, I'm getting the feeling that most of the people participating in this discussion have never played Rust.
That's really the starting point for any discussion about property in a multiplayer game.
It's also probably the greatest game created in the past 10 years.... maybe the greatest game ever.
But we don't want to play rust. I didn't buy this game to play rust.
See, your game is best played when working together. Conflicts halt progression. We have too many things to worry about and it's impossible to unite a village to do something once it reaches a certain size.
Maybe make a rabbit recipe that allows it to be cooked in the oven rather than over hot coals? Also, one that doesn't necessarily ends in a mess like rabbit bones do. Or should we utilise trash pits more often?
That doesn't sound very sustainable.
If he's far away you might as well kill him. At least the knife does not get wasted.
Having designated surveyors never works, unless you roleplay with it and got obedient children who want to help their mommy.
Also, that's how we get the tyrants with crowns riding around dictating everything and doing nothing themselves.
I agree that it is imperative that the food goes out. It might even be necessary to make a little porch outside the bakery to drop off the food and have a fire where the people can keep their young. Having a fire in the bakery should not be necessary.
I think it could be simplified into categories. No one can be an efficient member of society and only do one thing all the time.
Jobs in your life comes in stages. No one is 100% anything, besides potentially annoying.
I wouldn't mind a coif. A nice broad white civilian coif. Or maybe a bonnet?
Love this, is the villages still alive at this time?
Anyone that is willing to clean up the mess and restock frequently. Also, those who not only take care of the bones, but also moves them further into the wilds than most would. Bonus point if you left them in the desert or the jungle biomes.
But these days, I'll take anyone that doesn't do beginner mistakes and are up to date on the meta.
I'd like to marry Karltown, how does one marry Karltown?
The Waterloos, Hungerford etc, successfully killed of the Moons in the south for no good reason. It was terrible to travel back to the mega city only to find them bragging about their two-digit kills. I killed a few of them for revenge. I had come from the Bacon village but was unnamed.
And I spawned in as one of their heirs later and was expected to make a ritualistic kill to prove my right as heir and bearer of a crown. Weird place, to sacrifice someone that was working. Tommy Reed was not who you thought he was, mom and dad.
Having them spawn and move outside of the jungle is the biggest headscratcher. Actually, most biome exclusive things should probably not spawn outside their biome because in 9 out of 10 cases they don't make sense.
I can't believe our experience was ruined because Jason took advice from a person nicked crazy. It's right in the name...
Why would we ever want to build anything if we knew no one was going to come back there because the game doesn't have enough players to support a feature like this?
The only problem with trying to teach a new player something is that you're getting a new baby before you're done teaching the first. Maybe it's better people start taking up apprentices if they've started to fill a roll in the settlement.
Traditional bootleg.
Don't you care about money though? You stated that you were worried about your livelihood. Seems to me you're just out for the money, why else would you be worried that others might take your spot in hauling in the money it does net you for relatively little effort.
You ought to do more videos, InSpace. They're really interesting.
So what's the meta then? How big can we make our buildings including walls before we loose the effect? 6x6, 7x7, 8x8?
Thanks for sharing my idea
You're not the only one who has ever thought of the use of a tool rack to date.
Other than being an excellent interior decoration, the loom is a rather useless item in-game if you're not gunning for planes which aren't too common.
I can think of a few uses.
- Weaving cloth sacks used to store flower, threshed wheat, or dry raw veggies (potatoes, carrots, dried beans, dried corn etc.) in larger quantities than say a basket maybe (5-7 bowls worth or even more without being overpowered), but only one type of item per sack which creates a handy little symbol similar to the seed bowls.
The general idea with this is to make stations more efficient and separated. Harvest the wheat in larger numbers. Thresh it and make it into flower and put in a cloth sack and take it to the bakery. The bakery will then use it as they see fit provided there is water nearby. Distribute the pies and bread to each station. Symbiosis.
What other uses would you like to see? Types of clothing etc?
Jason ought to make tools more durable to allow for mistakes. Not by a lot, but hey one or two graves here and there wont matter then.
Don't you think there is merit in teaching new players to conserve iron rather than saying it's not a problem at all? Also, remember to tell people to bury the bones inside the village proper too for optimal frustration.
