It's been suggested many a time that buildings could have non-temperature factors (storage, furniture, reduced decay of food and/or machinery). Jason seems reluctant to do this for some reason. He's cited 'hunger and temperature' as the two big things in the game. As if having just two big factors is good. Chutes and Ladders also has just two factors. That doesn't make it a good boardgame.

so a 4x4 or 3x4 is perfect for a nursery or old people's home?
Oh mah gawd old peoples' homes should totally be a thing! All the oldies could go there and prune bonsai, play with rubber balls. There could be paper and a pen there so that oldies could write stories about their lives... maybe babies could be in the same room so the oldies would have someone to ramble to.. plus, you would only need one room.
Sometimes, people just have the urge to create something, hence buildings. I built a house a bit south from the town once, put a bear rug in the middle of it and planted rosebushes outside. It was nice, until twins locked its door and said they were going to use it to trap people.. should've made a pine door.
By the way, I'm totally making an old people's home.
