Instructions all over the place, I give up lol
Yeah, I just went through it all today and built mine. Still got screwed by the last Apocalypse though, lol.
Start here: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=112
On pp 2 there's a couple of links of peoples' methods. I got a VirtualBox server working following Bimble's guide. Also read the EditorAndServerAndServerBuildNotes.txt in OneLife/documentation.
Thank you!
Don't agree with not being able to use things you have crafted, karma sounds good though
Anyone know how?
I want to create a server for me only, hosted by me lol. I have looked around but nothing i have seen works so far. So i can explore the tech tree and learn how to do everything in order to help more in the real servers. Basically a single player mode
An ocean or lake biome of sorts would be awesome! Would take a lot of work though
Try delete and re download it
Good ideas, I agree that apocalypse is not a fun game mechanic at all.
I like your ideas, I also don't mind if he can't keep up with the content as you can continue perfecting your methods at the end of the tech tree and improving things, making roads and buildings, etc. There is always more you can do and I like that it can be relaxed, if you want to start from scratch you can just run away into the wilderness, the world is pretty much infinite, which is why I also think the apocalypse should be removed, let players who want to continue to develop civilizations do so and if you want a more intense survival, players that wish to can do so. I like the relaxed end game of being more creative, building things to help make it more efficient.
Also, why don't you have a spawn option to spawn as an eve in the wilderness or to spawn as baby, as an option. Just an idea but might be good for those players that want a "fresh start"
I am not evening playing anymore, not until this goes away, you can't make progress if it resets every 2 hours, no fun, for me at least
The key should have been emailed to you when you purchased it
indeed
Yep i'm not playing anymore
same
i am just playing by myself in a custom server now hah
Wait.. so why was this added to the game?
I think you did not get the idea of having the people armed. Being armed does not mean having a knife lying somewhere on the ground. It means, having it with you, simple as that. No doubt eventually you got doomed easily. Why? Because you got disarmed. That's not the only reason but I believe the major factor.
From my perspective, that is not what he meant, he says not to leave them lying around in his post, don't arm the entire population, as in have weapons ready for anyone that needs them. Just give them to the trustworthy citizens.
love it

Someone triggered an apocalypse, and apparently it affects all servers. Global reset.
Thats awful

I have an idea, if you murder someone, you respawn in a griefers server for 3 hours per person murdered that was not a muderer. Attach the flag to the permission key you use to login. That would probably be easier to code than cages.
Agreed. A griefers server would be no fun to play for them, nothing to destroy, because nothing will be created. Which is good, a consequence for their actions.
What a lovely little story of the three of you haha.
Joriom wrote:TrustyWay wrote:Do it.
Short answer: No, Jason will not do that. You don't even need to ask.
I asked.
Also. This is a griefing problem, not a 'village guard' problem, as there's no way to grow trees or botanize/forage for seeds from grass. This behavior discourages players to stay in the game. Sounds to me like you're supporting these actions, hence the attitude.
Exactly
Eccola wrote:There was not a single bow and arrows or knife anywhere. You don't think, if I had some, I would not kill him? After a while I resigned and disconnected anyways, it was no fun playing anymore.
There were no guards, mostly mothers with kids, struggling to be fed, when carrot farm went to hell without water. So basically - you had bad society without proper tools (bow and knife are tools as well and are needed in cases just like that).
Also, your society was way to preocupies with themselves just to make sure everyone else is safe from griefers.
Seeing that you did just what they did instead of filling the blanks and protecting them as guard youself.Yup. Nice. You all deserved to die.
You can't choose to be born into a thriving civilization with every tool, you have to deal with what you've got, and it isn't exactly easy to make a knife if you don't have the resources available. Maybe if the troll helped they could have become a more advanced town. Sounds like they weren't exactly doing great and the troll just finished them off.
I am highly against disallowing the person to play. As far as I know, there are no rules that would prevent such actions. That is a concerning fact indeed, that digging up berry bushes takes no time at all. This should be fixed.
In my opinion people as toxic as this one are holding back the games society, I have been murdered by people like this before that get hold of a knife too. I think it is common sense not to destroy other peoples progress, you shouldn't have to make rules like that.
If no banning, have him born repeatedly with no arms or legs.
YES!
But also make it so he never starves to death. He has to sit there forever or have some poor person carry him around, ending in him probably never playing again which would be ideal.
