your running into the (impossible) problem faced by central planners in economics
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5Gppi-O3a8
you don't need to gauge relative values as much, or allocate resources by fiat dictate.. so it shouldn't be as confounding, but still your facing it
that shit is so frustrating..
once i spent quite a while finding rabbits for fur/meat. i desperately needed a backpack
i brought 5 furs back to base and stepped away to find a thread for half a second
some stupid kid walked up and cut every one of the hides into tiny pieces......
then he just walked off, didn't use any of them
9. cursed players can have dwarfism (they don't grow past a certain size) or benjamin buttons syndrome (start as an old man and age backwards!)
lol just for fun, you could do something else weird with cursed people besides just black text
oh wow, i also limped back to my settlement recently to tell my older sister i was gored by a boar.
no babies fell out of me though this time i was still a kid
it seems to do the opposite, being snake bitten makes you shotgun out babies fast as you can
like maybe the snake is impregnating women?
LOL ok so today i am born to a nice lady, she was roughing it in the wilderness, gets bit by a snake..
she can't hold me and i die!
THEN I RESPAWN AS HER BABY AGAIN! shes STILL snake bit, dies and then i die again!
lol my 3 last plays involve simultaneous babies and snakes
poor mom hahahaha
omg, this is us!
http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=440714
im both babies... what luck
sorry baby, mommy can't pick you up, also *fallsover dead*
i thought some of this was fixed, i haven't tried them lately, but some of the horse behavior changes i pull requested were accepted weeks ago
also you should be able to haul a hitching post in their cart and deploy it somewhere (like a mine)
I was granted a crown by my adopted mother the only play through where i actually SAW a crown
she was granted it by someone, not sure if they were related, then the old queen died, then my adopted mother had it, she ran around doing all sorts of tasks as needed as most do, and gave some leadership advice
then she got old and granted it to me because thats pretty much what i was doing to, my own son harassed me constantly for the crown but i told him we had work to do first
several times people looked to me for leadership and i simply pointed out things that needed doing
then when i got old i gave the crown and a knife had to my daughter who looked like a hard worker, i felt i had left things in good hands and passed peacefully from the world
the crown is kind of a fun symbol, its interesting to see how people respond to it, real life 'authority' is no different imo, its just a perception in the minds of those who believe in it
this game is a game about learning what makes up our society..
unfortunately the main lesson it teaches is our society is plagued by 'tards'
lol
Sorry guys
im discontinuing my server.. i enjoyed it, i saw a handful of other people having fun with it
but the game itself is just not bringing in enough new INTERESTING content to make it worth the time to keep up with all of the updates and to continue playing the game, it has become stale pretty quick..
all of these pointless food updates are annoying me, thats just not the direction im interested in seeing the game go in
its a great lovely game, worth the money, but of pretty limited playable scope so far in my opinion.. very interesting experience, but one that loses its novelty quickly at this stage of development.. not enough for me to want to maintain a server for it
here is my change sources though if you want to adopt it:
https://github.com/intangir/OneLife/tree/easymode
https://github.com/intangir/OneLifeData7/tree/easymode
ill keep following the games progress in hopes that it fleshes out higher tech levels and allows for more economic diversity and specialization, and for people to move out of basic subsistence and into more industrialization and larger communities
I'd much rather see more and more advanced technologies, and more efficient yet harder to prepare foods that CAN be mono-gorged.. most low tech civilizations (and thats as far as the game goes so far) DID specialize mostly in 3 or less staple foods as they left hunter/gatherer and got into agriculture
simplify basic survival as you advance in tech and allow for more specialized diversity in the economy, and for people to have more time for more interesting high techs,
* faster long range travel and trade.
* better personal/family homes.
* better long term and denser storage options (shelving?, pantries?, granaries? pottery?)
* roads
* windmills?
* power generation!
* industrial advancement
don't care about carnitas and tons of varied foods, the fun of the game for me is to experience how society grows and changes along with the level of technology and community sizes and makeups, and skills we have. people adopt roles in society and specialize, and as more productive capabilities emerge fewer and fewer people can provide for one needs while others are freed up to pursue broader goals.
thats what makes the game fun for me, and i like that it also educates people about how actual society and economy work in a way that books and schooling can't. I'd love to see the game further in that direction.. I have zero interest in any new food changes other than the soil and water availability increases.
I am hoping you keep expanding the tech tree to include ever more advanced capabilities. (rather than just ever more recipes)
ya i like the stackable firewood
it makes alot of sense
i think regular bowls should be able to add seed stacks already without crafting them with a plate or anything special
for tools i just use a regular box, you can even put smaller tools in a basket
i don't have the farming update installed yet, have to merge my changes
damn bear ate half of them and was still hungry
how do i compile this for linux? is there source?
the decay for some things is just tedious and annoying
like a storehouse when all of the baskets break in the carts..
its hard to feel like your even making an impact for the next generation when everything you make breaks soon after you do and they are left with nothing
i love the baby in backpack idea that guy said
also i think the overflow idea is awkward, people waste food in real life too
clever people just eat less filling foods while young and wait for more empty boxes
i think it is good how it is
i think those 'hindering murderer' tips i put forward could help..
https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1805
doesn't punish or prevent killings (justifiable ones, or murders), it just makes it more likely they will be stopped, disarm them, make them drop their weapon
maybe make it so you can be at 0 food, but if you hunger past that point you die
or just leave it, i think its actually fine how it is, people gotta pay attention - hunger don't play!
i wouldn't start the alarm sooner, it already interrupts the music too much
i like how people say ily or such stuff (i love you) when your getting old and going to pass away and stuff
lol makes the game so heartwarming when people rp like we are actually living tiny little lives with slim chances of survival or progeny
its a tipped cart, i guess if you have a horse drawn cart and the horse dies the cart becomes tipped
the dropping code i think is for dumping the contents of the cart on the ground
i actually suggested a couple of those changes a week ago, cool to see them get in
i did that once too, mom tried to name me 'not wanted' but it named me something similar instead
all i wandered off to find carrots and make baskets, when i returned everyone had died
i finished the carrot garden they had made, made a kiln, hunted rabbits and lived to 60, my last words were 'unwanted but i outlived you all'
lol
look out george foreman!
i sometimes have a very hard time finding iron, but sometimes you stumbled across a bunch at once, or a mine
