Found your base.
Do you name yourself when you Eve on 13? I have a technique for finding bases, but it will help if you can tell me a name you used for yourself while you were still in your city.
If you click on the fresh beans with a bowl all the beans go in the bowl at once. Why not just have the same thing happen with dry beans and then just allow us to also use the dry bean bowl for planting purposes. That way no beans ever have to be on the floor they can just always be in a bowl. Keeps the bean station tidy forever. No janitor needed.
Along with the iron nerf, reverse the shovel nerf and introduce the pitchfork for compost. With the limited iron its sad when I finally make a shovel and I set it down for a sec only to see it broken when someone decided to bury the hoards of dead bodies scattered around camp.
I wrote the note. http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=1275032
When I was born Ashland was teaching my mom how to make a well. While making sure to feed her berries while talking to her. He taught her how to name me. She named me Boar after the wild pig running around north of the village. Ashland died of old age before seeing me grow hair. I was planning on helping my mom just as Ashland did but she suddenly fell dead with no warning. I had also been feeding her berries when able, so seeing her suddenly die after I grew hair meant that she left now that I was there. I was depressed after this. The town was nearly empty already. With her dead it was only Toby and I left in the village, and he was close to dying as well.
I went on a journey to find more iron. I came back home to an empty village. When I gave birth to Tiffany I told her about my sadness over my mother and that we were the only ones left. Tiffany helped me by getting supplies for the sanction kit needed for a mine I found earlier. After I opened the mine I gave birth to Tytan. I juggled him and the ore cart all the way back home. Tiffany then used the cart to gather branches for fences so we could finally pen our sheep. I died next to the grave I made for Ashland. I felt that he was reason I was born more than my mother that left me.
Remember that as Eve(Tutorial) that you are born at age 14 so it's not a 60 minute life if you die at 60 it's a 46 minute life.
Yep that worked for me. Thanks Jason!
It lets me re-try now but I still can't get it on steam I get the "HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request" over and over.
If Jason does add the disconnection change I do think a facial expression is needed for that state. Disconnecting isn't just for babies. It will help with adult disconnects too. It probably won't happen but I'd also like to see that if you murder someone that is disconnected that there wouldn't be a murder penalty for it(The scream and the slow). That way if the baby and the village agree that they aren't wanted banning them from the lineage is easy. I wouldn't want to use this disconnect change to force people into situations they don't want to be in.
Here is an idea for a positive incentive system that might be viable and fit with the games atmosphere. I know Pein had the idea of quests, but I don't think MMO style questing fits in Jason's vision for this game. What if the "Job Board" wasn't an in game item to look at while you were an adult? What if it was something you saw before you pressed the "Get Reborn" button. Add a meta currency that can only be used in the afterlife. Earn if from doing jobs for people. Spend it to make job postings of your own. It is more like Craigslist than an MMO's quest system. The game doesn't know you are on a quest. OHOL might just help with the lineage matching process if the quest required a certain lineage. To collect your reward you'd just message the creator of the posting with a picture of the completed project in game. It would add an additional layer to the game because usually you don't have a mission with a life that young. What if you don't even live long enough to attempt your quest? What if your mom gives you a different job? Which one will you prioritize?
With this positive incentive you've got someone who wants to be there. Instead of "I don't want to be here what can you bribe me with to make me stay?" kind of incentive.
2. On disconnect, server keeps your record alive, as long as you haven't starved to death yet. On reconnect, you re-enter that same living body, and resume play. This is going to be needed anyway to deal with disconnects (a robustness measure). This will also make disconnecting to suicide ineffective. As long as the mother keeps caring for the zombie baby, the baby will stay alive, waiting for the reconnect.
Oh yes, finally, I always wanted this change. This will help both with suicide and accidental loss of connection. This change alone I think will be enough to help with the suicide problem.
Just needs a special emote facial expression so that other player's know that that person is disconnected.
Even if there wasn't a Esc+% or close icon in windowed mode there is always a way for you to quit. Just use task manager. If someone doesn't want to live in your town you probably are not going to want for force them to be there. You can wish that they would be productive members of society but they will more likely sponge, kill, or worse destroy structures and natural resources.
I feel that this is a supernatural problem like we had with griefers that was solved with the curse system. We needed a curse system because even if you killed a griefer in one life they would be reborn and at some point so would you and you two would run into each other again and have this forever game of cat and mouse. The curse system removes the griefer from the pool of babies until their time out is over and hopefully they have learned their lesson.
Suiciding is the new griefing now that we have the curse system. I don't feel that even if you were to curse a suicide baby the results aren't the results you want. You wanted that child. It doesn't want to be there for whatever reason. You manage to name the child before it falls dead in your arms, and you curse the dead baby. Your curse sends the player to donkey town. You still have no child, and you might not ever get another one.
The game needs is some form of positive incentive to live every life as long as possible. That way suicide is decreased naturally because every life matters. In this game you can be reborn so easily that each life seems a little less meaningful. In real life you can't open your eyes as a baby and see that your daddy isn't wearing a Rolex in the hospital and say "GG. I didn't get the rich daddy. I'm out of here."
I don't feel that punishing these players will solve anything. It will just alienate them from the game. It needs to be something even something small like a text color change. That players can earn by living and not suiciding. This would be hard to implement though. What is the difference between not being fed by your mother and purposely dying of starvation as a baby by running around so no one can pick you up. Or accidentally stepping on snake vs. purposely stepping on a snake so you can die. If the change was just to try to prevent disconnects then babies will just find other ways to die.
Suiciding hits hardest when our player base is low. The steam release should help because although there may be some increase in suicide but there will also be an increase in total babies being born that it will be more likely that someone will stay. So maybe we won't need positive incentive to life added.
+1 for keeping zoom out or making it a feature of the base game.
I resisted installing the mod for a long time, but once I got it I was hooked. I use the 1440p version on my 27" monitor and the game looks great.
It dramatically reduced my deaths by animals (I still die when I get overzealous hunting though). I can leave base and scout more often and at younger ages because I can plan out where wild berry bushes are. I've felt less forced to make a home marker because I can find my way back home easier even if I forgot to make a marker. I feel safer with the larger view distance. Players and animals can't just sneak up on me like they could before.
I played one game without the mod recently, and I hated the game experience. I was an eve born in Goose Town, and a child of another eve was trying to kill me. Without knowing where she was well in advance I could never feel safe so rather than waste time typing telling others about the danger I was in I left the town, and ate wild bushes so I could die at sixty. It was not a fun game for me. I like Goose Town and I wanted to be there and be useful. Instead I was just waiting out my timer to die eating berries alone.
If I was forced to play without it that would probably be my reason to stop playing for good.
It's not right to curse suicide babies to donkey town. Donkey town is for major griefers. A time out to think about what they have done. Suicide babies just don't like their town or their mother. What they need is a ban from that lineage. Which is why i always kill babies that ask me to kill them. If they don't want to be here then I don't want them here either.
The problem comes that babies disconnect or don't vocalize their wish to be banned from this lineage. They get reborn again and again wasting the mother's birth cooldown. I still want to see disconnect players bodies stay on screen until they die of starvation or someone can murder them.
Hi mom it's Prophet. I'm so sorry Arryn killed you. He shouldn't have killed you when it was me he wanted dead.
When I saw him pick up the bow I knew I'd surely die so I told Emmariah I loved him and prepared for the worst. Then I heard a scream and I was hoping that you killed him first. After I got revenge for you I spent the rest of my life finishing the sheep pen you started, getting sheep, and a horse cart. Hopefully some other eve will stumble upon the town again.
This isn't my first experience with racists in game, and I have a feeling it won't be my last. Thank you for giving me a chance to live mom.
We just tested it out, and when you shoot someone with a note it makes the victim say what is on the note.
You can also use notes to curse people. If you are old enough to read the paper and have a curse token available it will get used when you pick up a note that says "Curse ....."
I'm so glad you joined the forums dad. You did a great job raising us when mom abandoned us. You clothed us and kept us safe. We just wanted to make you proud.

I think it is because of the ban. Most suicide babies are the same person coming back over and over. This causes extra clutter with their bones and is a waste of everyone's time.
On the other hand the murder penalties far outway the benefits of the ban. Unable to act after the murder you can't work and you might starve, and time wasted chasing the baby to kill them. Then you will most likely be murdered by someone else for killing a helpless child.
I still think I'd like to see that disconnected players don't die in game. I'd be better to have them in a coma and then the population can decide what to do with them. Murder penalties could be eliminated for killing someone in a coma. Can you waste resources feeding a female in a coma in the hopes of grandkids?
This would also help when there is a legitimate disconnection with someone's internet that was previously a good worker and people just wonder why they suddenly die.
Jony were you in a desert biome? If you are wearing any thing more than a backpack in a desert you will be too hot. Too hot can be much worse than too cold. I know I have forgotten about this and nearly died.
I usually take off my clothes if I have to work in a desert, but then my clothes always get stolen after that.
You stand close to the person and say "you are ..." just like a baby. I know it works because I had to ask my uncle to name me once when my mom died young. He didn't think it would work but I got named. We stood on the same square. IDK if you have to be that close though.
Jason fixed that. Wheelbarrow decays the same as cart now. https://onetech.info/483-Wheelbarrow
I'm so glad the Delatours are still alive. My mom tried to move us to a new location and we were greifed by four bears. I went on an animal killing rampage after that.

This issue of suicide babies needs to be resolved someway. It's wrong to force a player to play in city they don't like but its just as heartbreaking to be a mother to baby after baby that suicides immediately, and it's usually the same person being reborn over and over. It is a waste of both player's time.
The child would need a ban from that lineage to stop the cycle, but they won't get that since they haven't played in that lineage for 30 mins and they haven't done anything worthy of being killed by another player.
I think a good solution would be that players that DCs because of lag or quits entirely should not die immediately in game. Their body could collapse or go white eyed into a coma so everyone would know that they are brain dead now. Then the village could decide to kill the person to ban them (removing the penalty from the "murderer" since they were technically dead anyway). Or if the child was female the village could decide to keep them alive as a broodmother by feeding them. There would also need to be a way to move said coma person added to the game.
This would help both sides of the issue. Babies that hate where they were born get a ban from that lineage if the village has a weapon and old mothers get more chances at having viable daughters.
Scorp I killed my first moving person on Sunday. The first time I put the knife down because I aimed at him. The second time I aimed for the tile that he was moving to and I got him. At full speed I have no idea how anyone could manage that but I got them while they were slowed. Hope that helps.
Instead of making several smaller posts about each life I'm going to make one big post about some of my lives today.
Eve Lucky: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=492519
I've lived in this town many, many times now and I love this place. Its the town with the oversized berryfarm and the two bear caves west and north. I was fortunate to have spawned in as Eve to keep the place alive. It was in great shape, so it was easy to raise my kids.
...well most of them. I had to put one down early in life.
My son, Ace, had problems speaking to me and his siblings. I was fine with that and made sure to tell his brothers and sisters about it. As he grew older and more confident in himself, he started slowly speaking. I was proud of him. He was working hard both at piemaking and speaking. I always saw him practicing with his nieces and nephews.
All of my remaining kids this life were great. Tony was a hard worker too, going out and fetching materials in the dangerous outside world. I was so relieved when he came back from his long trip out to get iron.
In my dying moments as I said my goodbyes to my family, Ace spoke his first sentence to me, "I love you mom". I was glad to see it before I passed.

Wow, this place loves me I spawn right back where I was as Eve Lucky. The Lucky family is still there and I'm thrilled. I soon realize that all is not well here anymore. A murderer is on the loose and targeting females.
I didn't acquire a knife soon enough and the town is massacred, my daughters included. I only gave birth to sons at the end. I realized that the reason I spawned here so soon after just living here was because as Eve Lucky I lived to sixty. I had my new mission I had to live and become Eve once more to keep this place alive. As I hid out in the woods I stumbled across one of my sons passing by. We walked back home and the murderer had died while we were away so we were safe.
Later I was teaching my son how to curse but he was too young to fully spell out his name. I realized that with this new cursing system long names aren't worth it. We need to get rid of these bad eggs and everyone that talks should be able to curse.

I didn't get that town again this time but I have lived in this town before. It's the one with the nice goose farm on the east side. (I'm sorry I forgot the original family's name). I used my new cursing knowledge to keep my family name short. I know it could be even shorter by not having a last name but there are so many single name kids on the server that who knows if someone else has used the same name as you. I wanted to make sure that if my kids f'd up that only they would take the blame and not some rando living 1000+ tiles away that has the same name.

I look at my mother's name and I'm shocked I was sure the Lucky line was wiped out. Here I am back in berry heaven with Lucky as my last name. With trashpits surrounding the bearcaves this time.
At first I thought maybe some girl had escaped and then later came back with her kids, but this was a new line. I'm very thankful for the person that decided to be this Eve Lucky.
Once again we had a murderer targeting females again. When I was born there were two bloody corpses on either side of me. This time the murderer was nameless so no cursing could be done. Luckily I had my brother and some great male cousins and they killed him and kept me safe so I could continue the line.

Fawn Vi: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=496630
I spawn back at the other village and I don't see any signs of the other family that used to live here. Its just all Vi's now. Makes me glad I stayed. I sometimes feel like an outside intruder when I'm an Eve spawned on top of an already functioning town, but I figure if I work and my kids work then we should hopefully be helping more than hurting.
The greifing is terrible this run. I'm too busy trying to fix the compost/wheat/carrot situation that I can't catch the culprits name. I mix together the berrycarrot bowls as fast as I can before the wheat straw despawns, but I make it. We've got compost to last us for awhile. I replant the wheat and the town should survive now after my passing. I'm really jaded though this life so thats why my last words are so dark.

Eve Ida: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=497009
Living to sixty on Eve Vi paid out and so my very next life after Fawn Vi put me right back in town. The compost has matured and the wheat has grown someone made a bunch of lovely iron hoes and a sign just for them. (Which I find hilarious because that sign was someone greifing my attempt at a stone hoe).
Once again we've got murderers. I manage to kill one that was running away. http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=496886 He gave me my first curse point. Another murderer appeared soon after. We didn't have proof it was him but he chased me as I tried to hand over my backpack to my grandson Lei. I died before I could properly give my knife over to him.

Now you all can tell me I play this game too much, but don't bother cause I already know.
