"Everyone" LOVES planting beans but when it's time to make stew there's usually not many around, beans are really easy to plant no complicated process just pick and plant which always ends in tiles full of dry bean pods, even if stew is a great food the complicated process usually means that only a few know how and are willing to do it
Tile occupation is something that gets exponentially worse the more a village is advanced and the more content updates we get, eating the dry beans for a really low amount of food would be a good solution to lower the tile occupation at least for beans
Also since they come from green beans, they are technically dried green beans which makes them safe and edible raw, as far as i know

I consider myself a very good player and i know a lot of things in the game (all about smithing, making buckets, stanchion kits, bakery, etc), but i still don't know how to do stew. So i'd say you are correct.

This would be a GODSEND! Clutter is pernicious and bean pods are a big contributor.
I learned stew recently by picking up various precursors other people had left lying around and using the hints screen to complete the process. There's a lot of pieces and steps but they're all straight-forward and the hints basically walk you through it (slowly). Stew is rewarding to learn and rewarding to make, I encourage everyone to try it.
Now that I know stew, from now on when I see beans scattered all around I'll know how to clean them up reasonably efficiently. But they'll still occupy bowls while waiting for all the other components to get finished, and bowls are always in short supply in my experience.

beans can be used to burrito as well, its very filling and tile efficient
1.5 threshed wheat into one plate, basically you make the same way as for stew just you don't take out the last water, you cook it
you need a long straight shaft, a few flat rocks
once you cooked the beans you can make dough, maybe just use up one dough from each bowl at first so it wont become bread
you can also cook salt or goose, rabbit on the fire, then slap the flat rock, cook masa dough, wheat tortilla, eggs
i seen like 2 cities which were pretty good but overrun by beans, making baskets to reduce clutter and making burrito to reduce beans and threshed wheat is ideal solution, bit time consuming but once you got the station for it is quite easy

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

you could just clean up the beans by putting them into a bowl for more nourishing food

+1 for any and every clutter eliminating solution. These are game breakers in my book.
Jason, please.

Yeah after cleaning forty dry bean pods from the center of town I'll take them even decaying. Once Jason fixes basket teleporting cleaning up massive amounts of clutter is going to suck.
fug it’s Tarr.

If you click on the fresh beans with a bowl all the beans go in the bowl at once. Why not just have the same thing happen with dry beans and then just allow us to also use the dry bean bowl for planting purposes. That way no beans ever have to be on the floor they can just always be in a bowl. Keeps the bean station tidy forever. No janitor needed.
