It is kind of crazy that we jumped that far ahead, though we can't of always jumped around with technology, just getting whatever Jason thought was cool at the moment. I suspect more low tech stuff will come around later too.
This is actually pretty complicated looking, so I suspect it wont be too commonly build.
I know right ? it's crazy to think we have steam and gasoline powered engine, but still no basic irrigation system
#where'smyshadufsystem?
Actually it got mathematically broken down on the forums and ultimately when iron is low it's far better to use skewers, not stone hoes given the amount of soil and water needed per use of tool.
I actually saw a couple of weeks ago a player plant a huge milkweed farm because we had no iron and we needed hoes, but he kept breaking the hoe in the process, so he basically planted milkweed to make the hoes he needed to plant the milkweed.
you can poke them and that's hilarious, good enough entertainment for me
but why a sad face ?
so there are several mechanics at work here :
- when the mother of a baby dies, the orphan baby is saved as spawn location for next eve to give a chance for the baby to get adopted to the new eve and to be able to play.
- theres no lineage ban in servers with less than 10 players. So if you use the suicide command you still will respawn to the same mother if she's the only one available and won't be on cooldown since the suicide command prevent her from it. If she doesn't want a baby, don't use the /die command, but rather go starve so she will be on cooldown and can't give birth to you.
- For the spawning as eve, it's a little more complicated. When you die of old age as eve, the nearest man made structure is saved as spawn location. So if you lost your eve spot by dying earlier and you land near another camp, then it most probably means your old spot is lost since it has been overwritten by the new spot. Also Jason has tightened the eve spawn spiral so that new eves will spawn somewhere around the last saved spot.
I have made bean tortillas once and forgot how to cook beans (just learnt it again yesterday from an old man).
It was me
this is one of the reasons I love this game
I'm playing since may and there are still plenty of stuff I haven't done.
I never made a key and lock
I never made a sign board and letters
I never made antivenom
also not of the newer stuff like paint (although i finally did plaster some walls) and didn't meddle with rubber yet.

Yes and that alone makes me abandon twins from now on every and always. First it's a way higher risk it are griefers and those that aren't are way more suicidal.
don't cherry pick my sentence to fit your needs.
the problem is often people will come here and tell the story every times there are twin griefers.
But the other way around is almost never done. I'd say that if your twins were bad, there's a 99% chance you'll come here and talk about it, telling ppl not to raise twins. But if your twins were good, it only comes to 1 % chance of you coming here and saying how good and helpfull they were. Even though the good twins account for the vast majority of twin players.
I play quite often as twins, and if it is true we'll suicide if one of us die in general since we want to play together, we also take into account the village female situation. If we see there are plenty of women or if we're men, there's no need to stay. But if our mother has turned old, and we're the last girls and one of us dies, we still decide to play separately and give enough time for the next generations of girsl to be born.
same with a wheels added to boards, it is very annoying that it is impossible to remove them. It is a common mistake of players wanting to make a handcart to add the wheels first, ending up with an unsalvagable partial mining cart.
good job noticing that, we really have to teach everyone to be vigilent and to try to recognise signs of griefing.
Well at least by killing you, that player at least lineage banned himself and coul't continue to grief that city.
Also the suiciding before 30 won't work forever since the time spend in a lineage is adding up and the lineage ban is triggered by playing minimum 30 minutes. you'll be able to get reborn 10 times if you die at 3, 5 times if you die at 6 and 3 times if you die at 10, then the lineage ban should kick in.
if you ever in a pinch and need to get rid of milkweed seeds to free some space, you can always toss them into the fire. Just make sure to keep at least 4 seeds for a rope, and to pick one at least at fruiting to get seeeds back.
tree planting is a relatively recent update, not all trees are yet plantable... It should come in the future.
well stones aren't really the rarest of material, not what I would salvage first from a broken stone hoe... but since it's the shaft that's broken, it would make sense that we could recover the rope.
well it is so you have to choose between moving faster or holding more items.
just wait a bit for them to get coagulated, then you should be able to put them inn the cart
on the other hand, al the jungle patches that I came across were absolutely swarmed with mosquitoes, making it really difficult to stay in such biome.
Like seriously, if you have a patch of badlands, you usually expect 2 or 3 wolves, but for the jungle it's nearly every three tiles had a mosquito on it.
OMG i was your grand niece Zoe
I did more exploring and in turned out that east of the desert were 10 more ponds so I told all my kids about the old camp and the need to move, they started to make a new farm near the ponds while I was making a new road linking the two.
My third daughter went AFK but I kept feeding her until she got a daughter that I raised and explained everything to her...
Now seeing the lineage, she apparenly killed everyone. Too bad, that place really had potential, since everything was already made, we just had to move the farm and make a new pen and move a lamb in it.
to be fair, even if I had to run a bit more and a bit further, I've always found the iron I needed.
The thing is now iron run is reserved for veteran players and having the zoom mod is almost a must have.
Newer players will have a harder time finding it.

I think that wouldn't be such a problem if there was more than one black character.
Doubt it, when the game started there was only brown and white characters and there was already racism going on, ppl killing all brown babies and calling them bad names if they couldn't kill.
But I agree... still waiting for Black eve and ginger boy
although I seem to remember Jason saying something like ultimately having 40 or 60 different characters... not sure about number though.
I have the same issue happening off and on. I also have occasional crashes; the crashes seem to only happen when I'm typing.
What can I do to help troubleshoot these issues?
I also have the crashes, they seem to happen when i'm using the shift key while typing but I'm not entirely certain, only that it definitely happens when typing.
There was a bug that made the game crash while typing, it was reported to Jason and he had fixed it, I don't think it has ever happened with vanilla client after that, only using the mod.
Geez have you never heard of the edit post option ?
One thing that can make it a little easier is to stick to one server.
If you don't tick the custom server box, you'll be sent to the first available wherever the overflow might land you. Now the game does try to keep you playing into the same server within the same session, but i'm not sure between two play sessions.
I've been sticking to one server for the past few days, and things do improve slowly, we start to see bigger
cities again.
I have a weird mod behaviour, Awbz already know about it, but so far I seem to be the only one having it...
when I type to speak and don't press enter first I get a space added after my first letter and sometimes also a random letter, so intead of typing HELLO, it will type H ELLO or HX ELLO (X being a random letter, usually, x, o or p)
If I press enter first, to make the chat bubble appear, then it doesn't do it.
has anyone using it also encountered that bug ?
yes the iron nerf is a total bad move just now.
Iron is so hard to find, and shovels breaks so quick, we definitely need another tool for burying deads, and also switch from picking one potato at the time, to digging them up whith a hoe and picking them by hand.
It doesn't take into account all those new players that just waste shovel usage because they don't know what it does, and those that just go hide it because they find if funny to see the whole village asking around for it.
