What is the most annoying things people do in the game that makes you mad?
The few pet peeves I have is when someone cuts down all the wheat leaving us with no seeds. Also what happened to me a few time's is I got get everything together to make a backpack and make it and someone snatches it up on me after i did all the work to get it. Otherwise I'm pretty chill.
I like the idea of multiple stab wounds, but if that's not possible due to game mechanics, let's try punishment.
You stab another *person*, you automatically die. AND you get black text for the next ten hours. No "other people have to curse you"... it just happens.
That would also cut down on the vengeance killings.
People can grief more then just killing. They can kill all your sheep, set all the fires, throw away all the items, eat all the food. So if this happen that mean's one guy that has to kill them to stop them must be automatically punished by doing good from stopping a bad guy? that's legitimately retarded.
Maybe a ban option if you rack up 30+ curses because that would be insane if you have that many curses on you and your still griefing. I don't think there is any real good way to limit how you kill someone but to set some sort of deterrent from people doing that. If you are able to play like a few lives with no problem but one of them has a griefer then that's not too bad.
I say run and make a bow and arrow and get revange or just curse them idk..
I'm running window's and lag spikes are really rare. At least for me so you know.
Probably a small oversight. Jason might fix it to be older later but I have no clue till then enjoy the ability to unrealistically lift the rock as a kid.
The best idea I have is to have a accept food button on/off switch otherwise it is better to keep it on then off.
How about more of a wired fence that you can cross over but you will be slowed down when going over it to simulate going over a real fence. That way people would get a feel of a real fence but still have practical way to get in and out. You would also have to put animal's on another movement system so they are not allowed to go over it which could be a little bit of a pain if you don't have something like that set up.
Maybe each iron could make... idk 4 or 5 per ore. Then you need to stick the poles in of course but will be worth it and people would actually use it.
Having new weapons won't be a deterrent, it's a game so griefers aren't THAT heavily invested in their lives to care about death. I agree that the respawn/reincarnation system puts this apart from the real world. A powerful mechanic like that needs something equal to balance it. Is cursing strong enough to offset it? I don't know.
Although I do find the punishment system to be pretty intriguing as a concept. Maybe something like an atonement system? But who'll be the one to decide the extent of the punishment/the moral laws in a society: the game system or the players? Who makes the rules? I think the players should have the power to decide that, not the system.
In the game, I was born in a city where they killed all males. In the real-life moral system, that's outrageous (although a certain country did something similar before with a one-child policy in the past), but in the game, if the majority agrees on this, wouldn't it be the accepted rule, therefore morally just in the closed system?
This is why having less of the moral system imposed by the game mechanics are for the best. So the bias isn't from the developer, but from the players building the society.
Social justice is inherently evil so giving people the power to "forgive" is not needed at all but the curse system is just fine. I never said anything about having more weapon's in the game so please read my comment's a little slower and take in the meaning. I gave a pretty good solution on a biological level of thinking that does not go against human biology so it's completely foolproof and without exploits unless implemented wrong. You're twisting what I'm saying so make some sort of unknown argument is frustrating to say the least.
I'll tell you how you can exploit the system you came up with. You go and kill and grief as much as possible but then have a doubles account come to forgive you so you can do it all over again. Simple and that's why Social Justice is evil. Now for the curse as is, is a top notch idea because if you kill people or what not then you get cursed and you redeem yourself by proving to the game system itself and not other's.
As for my banning people idea it can be held off right now because this game is not huge yet so the developer has the time to think of a system later down the road. Think about it in all multiplayer games there is not one game that does not have a (ToS) terms of service and for very good reason.
Yeah, there's also no way to permanently kill the "cancer" of crime in real life. It keeps following us, century after century, world-wide, no matter what cure we try to employ.
It is in fact one of the great challenges of civilization. The greatest wars in history have been fought over it.
Oh crime? I know the easy solution to reducing it as much as possible and that's to give everyone a gun. There will always be more good guys then bad and who is going to rob you when they know you have a gun? It's a fantastic deterrent. But giving everyone a knife in this game would cause it to become COD just because there is no punishment system. At least in real life if you die there is no respawning... Just everything goes dark and that's it and no one wants that.
This game still beta so there is bound to be mishaps and whatnot. If you like just put the banning idea on the back burner and come back later if there is need for it.
Cheers~
My way of learning is watching others but if I want to learn something specific I'll go to wiki and learn enough to start off in and then learn as I go.
It's pretty cool to go back but kinda sucks when you still see where you died because no one cleaned up your bones from the last life.
Depends on what my plans and what the situation is. Being a male is preferred by most as you don't need to worry about kids, Men can be productive. But as a male I get abandoned a lot more and I'm generally more expendable then a girl. I might also find myself in a situation where all fertile women have died out and the civ is doomed.
Being a girl has its benefits, more potential for role play and an excuse to chill a little. Plus your more likely to get spoiled. Girls can continue the family line, even a stupid girl could birth smart kids. Also, Easier to get an heir as a female. I can just pass my stuff to my smartest kid while as a male I have to find a random nephew or niece.
That is true. Women are infinitely more valuable for a small village because that's how many babies that can be birthed per year so losing a male is not a big deal. Now in a civilization of a large society men are much more important as they can competently and able to run everything needed. So that is my logic behind my madness.
Is it me or does anyone prefer a gender at start? I'm guilty of trying to be a girl just for the fact of having the power over other players on deciding if they should live or die (I normally let them live).

I dislike that idea. I think mitigating griefers is one of the fun part of the game. Relying on too much meta-game functions would ruin the premise of the game: a community simulator. We just need to come up with better strategies for contingency plans because a large town will inevitably be massacred by a griefer.
Griefers don't make the game. If you plan to just do your best on ruining other peoples game continuously then it's obvious the curse system is failing at that point. So you want nothing to happen and let the problem grow, I see is as cancer and what do you do with cancer? you kill it and not just kill half of it and say I think the cancer learned it's lesson so let it be. Sometimes extreme measures is needed for extreme situations but to be honest if this was in effect I think it would be more of a deterrent and a very small handful if any at all would actually be banned.
You should also add to that system for a perma-ban. Like if you get cursed too many times within a month or so in different life's you will be perma banned. Get off your SJW racist high horse. No one cares!
