a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

I don’t see the point of punishing this behaviour. You can’t force people to spend an hour playing if they don’t want to. I never kill myself, but that’s because I like the dynamic of having to work with what you’re given.
My best mom was Awesome. She warned me about the drama in town and later reincarnated as my daughter. Once I got old I abandoned the town to go exploring and found out that she’d resettled in a nearby drama free town. It was peaceful to die with my mom right there, knowing my grandkids would have a good future.
I had lots of great moms, but that one I remembered.
You should let the sheep free-roam and build a tiny pen around the carrot patch.
Sheep don't really wander off much, and sheep only eat carrots patches.
That way uses up way less resources and gets your town to shepherding and compost much faster.
Huh. That’s an interesting idea. It would be neat if we could use dogs to sheppard sheep actually. Do they actually have a purpose now?
You might be able to make them from graves, but that’s extremely vulnerable to grieving. To be honest they all are.
I was in a town like that yesterday and kept trying to organize a sheep hunt, but I kept getting distracted by more critical issues. Food running out. Better bale of some pies. Berry farm is dying. Better do a wuick soil run. When We finally had the sheep pen ready and I was getting ready to plant some milkweed I stupidly starved *headdesk*
I should probably work on my communication skills...
I tend to get plenty of animals including mosquitos out of their biomes. Other stuff too actually. Maybe because the map resets? Is that a thing that happens?
Not shown my crying emoji, because apparently the forum doesn’t support them, but I’m feeling them. Can’t wait to get home and explore that jungle though!
Oh my God, are you kidding me?!? We get yellow fever before baby slings ?
I could always become a nomad if I didn't care for the area I was born into
I would love to be able to play as a legit nomad, just hunting, gathering and trading. The problem is that there is no way to carry your kids, so you either have to abandon your babies, or abandon your spoils. It’s the nature of the game that you’re pushed to settle.
Haha, yeah i threw myself on a snake this week after babies kept wandering into the forge while I was trying to smith and messed up my session. I happens...
I think we should get birth control once societies become more advanced and I mean way more advanced. Until quite recently (and in parts of the world still!), it was common for a mom to have a dozen kids with maybe two making it to adulthood. Effective birthcontrol became a thing when most babies started surviving.
Honestly a lot of the issues you mention are amplified by the current chaos caused by an influx of new players who don’t know what they’re doing. Once people get the hang of things you’ll start seeing organized towns with nurseries and stirage again. Just give it more time.
In my case our whole kiln dissapeared. That would be one hell of a ghost player! ?
Mom is that you?
I saved the Stdoutfile. Not sure if its needed and where to send it.
Here's an odd one. While I was playing the World kept resetting. I'd pick milkweed and the plant would instantly respawn. Items would dissapear from my hand and basket. Twice our town completely reset to the way it looked when we arrived (i.e. empty). At that point I decided to kill myself to report the problem.
I saved the stdout file. Where can I report it?
Is it a glitch? i thought it was just a matter of more precise clicking being required XD. Now that I'm used to backpacks I never have this issue. Just be stuff your face and not your belly...
Yesterday a very productive member of my village made backpacks for all of us. Unfortunately backpacks can be lethal if you’re a noob. My kids started dropping like flies, leaving just a pile of bones and a backpack with one sad berry inside... ?
It’s okay kids. It almost happened to mom too the first time she wore on!
I was born as the second generation of an Eve run. Me and my sis found the perfect spot and were on fire setting up a village. I was just about to start smithing when I completely glitched out. There were lots of babies running around, but unfortunately I think most of them were new players, because they all starved. It could have been such a nice little town
I’ve told someone not to finish the last berries on a tame bush. This seemed logical to me, because empty bush = soil and water, which might not come in an unlimited supply (especially before sheep). But then I read somewhere that its better to finish the bush and let it respawn. Does it respawn if you don’t finish the berries? Can someone clear this up for me? It’s kind of hard to ask about this stuff in game and I don’t want tonspread bad info.
I just spend half an hour popping out kids almost non stop. Taking care of babies is already plenty hard.
2) Mother that is way out in the middle of nowhere (almost always don't even have a name yet). The perfect example is a mother that doesn't have anything but is walking through a large snow biome. Again I suicide to help them out, this way they don't have to stop and freeze and costing more food, etc.
Actually in this scenario I prefer you don’t suicide. As an Eve I always pick up the baby and run. By the time we find a decent place to settle my baby is about old enough to help me get the camp started. It’s a big help, especially if I start popping out more kids. In my experience I tend to loose a sharp stick and maybe a basket in these early stages. Thise are easily replaced.
It was the first time I killed someone. I can never wash thhe blood off...
I assume that works both ways. Does that mean Jason can adopt mods and other feautures that are developed for OHOL by other people? He might prefer to just do his own thing since it’s baby of course.
Maybe art could serve it’s traditional purpose: to spread knowledge and ideas. Instead of having to painstakingly type out how to farm for NP’s, a bard could just sing ye old farm song.
Yesterday my daughter asked me stab her. She was always a troubled girl. I finally agreed to grant her wish, but couldn’t manage to hit her. It was extra sad, because yesterday I also shot an old lady by accident, while trying to drop a bow.
If it is harder to kill people I have no objections.
Finally escaped yesterday. I went North. There was nothing there except endless vages for new players. I’m shook.
