Early game does not exist. It is the most perfected part of the game and any pro player can climb through the hoops to get a place settled easily. The game also requires every race besides whites to function which encourages people dumping kerosene or clothes or trucks on new towns to help ease the game. When people like YOU fuck things up for people you start getting players to start prebuilding towns because there has to be a place for things.

Why would anyone want to build from complete scratch when YOU or your FRIENDS are the ones setting things back to zero by killing off a family. Like you are encouraging your own problem dude.

The map thing isn't an idea, it's an actual mechanic. I have no idea if it works as I never tested it after Jason implemented it because planes aren't useful right now and that change was made because I quit playing because of how frustrating everything related to planes are.

You can't do any sort of multiple person transport in game. That's pretty much never going to happen or it would have been done by any of the off shoots of ohol.

To make them meta he just has to do what he did with trucks. Create an upgraded version that keeps running on landing. Make landing not use up the kerosene and make it so fuel lasts like 30 minutes. This way you can constantly move back and forth and not use up all the kerosene. You would still probably need a tier 2 level of landing pad but it would go a long way to make them more usable.

The issue as shows is that it's very easy to trap them because how planes work. You pick a cardinal direction and the plane will land at the closest landing strip in that direction. This can be prevented by having a map but I never tested this function to see if it worked. Their distance also got limited to 20k and trucks just cost so much less to operate vs planes.

There really just needs to be a much higher tier of landing strip that has a toggle. The recipe for the landing strip is too easy to spam traps in every direction to stop them from working at all. Planes can't be useful at their current cost + the other issues.

Key should have dashes in it.

Press the settings button. Tick the box to use a specific server and use bigserver2.onehouronelife.com in the text box. It sounds like you might have the box ticked and it being local host or a wrong server address.

The annoying part was for mom and baby getting the same spot repeatedly. Baby doesn't want to be somewhere, mom doesn't want the baby leaving.

Mom doesn't want the annoying bones, baby just straight want the race/gender they got. Gender is an issue because someone who cares about family length doesn't want to be a boy, someone who cares about play doesn't want race.

I would rather spend 4x+ my life tokens for a specific gender, and race would be worth more to me. Though this leads to people wanting to just pick the combo which Jason is against. Boys are just not good unless getting oil or some odd case where not having kids is good lol.

Raise how many a fertiles a family needs to have boys and boom you fix the issue with *wanting* to play girls.

Here's the issue with how Jason did the change:

Two players have two separate bases on a server and play solo.

Player A joins the server first and is an Eve, Player B joins the server and spawns as a baby but wants to spawn to their town.

If Player B uses /die they will end up an Eve (yay) but will be a donkey town eve (boo). If Player B dies in donkey town they will then return to player A once again as a baby. Player B cannot play as an Eve until Player A is infertile as the game will repeatedly spawn to the Eve players.

This is obviously a problem. One player blocks the second player from being able to access their base. Worse yet: If Player A doesn't feed and raise Player B they will die (duh) which will mess up Player B's Eve spawn location.   

By doing this the way Jason did he basically blocked two players from playing in two separate towns on the same servers, has enabled players to troll others entering the server, and didn't fully address the issue.


On the main server it solved the issue of the same player spamming bones on the same person which is obviously good. However this fix makes it harder to roll race/gender for a specific town which is another issue. Basically if you want a town to last a long time you should basically never play male since women can give birth. On the flip side, some players go for ginger male to drill oil easier without screwing a bunch of random players being spawned in the middle of nowhere (since an oil driller will ALWAYS be in a fertile band if playing as a woman.)

We also still have the lack of feedback for vanilla players. A modded player KNOWS whether or not a family still exists with fertiles so when they use /die they have an idea to see whether or not it's just being unlucky/cursed. A vanilla player using /die has no idea if the family they're going to is alive without checking a waystone which means they need to wait to be able to leave town to even check if they should be using the /die command more.

But there would be an adverse impact: People would still kill themselves but instead it's running babies (This happened in the past) which now punishes you for your kid not wanting to play in your town.

Life tokens are so high because when the game has a high new player population boom they die and they die a lot. There have been times where people literally bought ohol and life tokens stopped them from being able to play. If you've never played when new players are around you'll see how much important it is for the game to be lenient AND how important it is for people who know how to be play be in places to help. 

No one knows when a big population boom is going to happen and Jason isn't always avaliable to just suddenly flip the server settings to make the game more playable.

Easy solution to reduce /die

Just make it always cycle and not be completely random. This would reduce one person landing on the same mom repeatedly unless they were blocked.

So this does 1). Makes family selection easier as if there’s four families three /die commands puts you in each family once.

2). Gives you an idea if you are blocked or fertiles not in an area (you will skip a family it blocked or fertile is too young/not in town.

3). Reduces unintentional/die spam because after the first cycle it is random what family you go to.

4). Allows better family selection while still keeping random lives intact.

In fact, I’m just gonna make a GitHub with this exact suggestion.

As I always say: This is a five year old game with a hardcore veteran population with an influx of new player occasionally. Early game is going to last an hour or two MAX and that's if your Eve sucks.

People have always rushed through early game for YEARS at this point even without the trucks and looting. The only time early game lasts is if there's a new player boom AND server 1 becomes active. The only reason they can even keep a basic civ going at that point is because Jason buffed new accounts to drain food at half speed. This keeps early game going because otherwise they would all starve.

There's also the issue that 3/4 families are required for the game to function (unless low population) which when combined with the highway leads to this looting issue.

Clearing the map doesn't suddenly make everyone bad at the game again. Early game is unironically one of the better balanced stages of the game as it's clearly defined on what needs to be done by each person in the camp vs mid and late game where people start doing random stuff.

If you bought an account solely to curse people it would take 180ish hours for you to curse every single person who played today assuming you curse someone every twenty minutes.

On the low end of things you'll have blinked 162000 times
On the low end you'll produce 6.2 liters of pee in this time
If in optimal conditions a human body would be about 75% decomposed to bone.
Depending on how frequent you poop you would have potentially pooped as many as 21 times to potentially only twice!
You could have hard boiled eggs 67.5 different times.
You could have watched paint dry 30 different times!

I think you guys need better hobbies than just cursing a person in an online game.

That's not how that works. You are getting a cooldown refresh on your ability to have babies by them using the command instead of just running off into the wilderness to die instead.

We were literally so close to originally getting a selector screen to pick where players went to reduce the amounts of sids and babies dying but instead we got the life token system which has classically always sucked. Too few lives and suddenly new players just spent 20 dollars to be unable to play the game. Too many tokens and people just spam the command because there's no real feedback to tell you if you're blocked out of a town due to curses, lack of fertiles, or just bad luck which causes more /die.

A better system would just be a mix of the two. High token cost for Eve (idk 20, that way it requires over three hours to force your Eve spawn) medium cost for a certain family (10 which means if you die young you're gonna be net negative, and living to old age should put you back into it.)

The game does not function without veteran players going to ginger family for example to keep the other families able to keep farming or running. Absolutely ridiculous to have people out here wanting to curse the players who keep the game running smooth for the new players.

If we looked at how many unique accounts logged in today that would put you at every out of every 5 people one person would have you cursed. Why should anyone care how you feel about being in donkey town when you annoyed that many people? Your redemption is sitting out your ban and eventually getting to come back after enough curses have fallen off or these people stop playing.

It would be an injustice to every single person you griefed in game for you to get your slate wiped clean. I have zero empathy for any of the donkeys because you guys got yourself there by acting like asshats.

Even if you did get out of donkey town you would end back up there because A). A large part of the playerbase does not want to be around you. You would immediately be getting cursed and targeted in towns by people who know who you are and B). Why do you think you should be getting special treatment over the 120 people you bothered?

When school lets back in I want you to look at your first 5 classes of the day. That's how many unique people you pissed off by killing sheep, leading bears, and being a rude dude.

Unfortunately with how things are changed and not exactly explained somewhere easy to keep track of mechanics I believe the current is supposed to be the current version:

Fertile female should have a current max of four living children. If she has four living kids she specifically shouldn't be having more unless none of the other mothers/females in the village can produce a kid. If your kid dies you should have a small cooldown, but if your kid /dies then your cooldown is instantly reset.

If there's too many babies to adults the game should spawn an Eve (this is why on server reset we get a bunch of Eves.) to help the adult to baby ratio.

The /die probably comes from having no feedback if you're blocked to a family because after the first cycle of /dying in each family you will randomly bounce around. Are you hitting white town because you're cursed? Or are you hitting white town because they've got a lot of fertiles + yum/warmth. Maybe instead of random you just always cycle the families by color? G > W > T > B. You would be able to tell you're cursed from a family in this situation because you'll skip over a family or be specifically stuck in one. This doesn't stop /die spam but it makes it easier to both see if you're cursed out and stops one mom from getting the same dude 4 times trying to go elsewhere (unless they're blocked.) Of course if multiple people are using /die it can seem like the same person keeps popping up.

Teaching wise just dump babies on the town wet nurse. There always seems to be that one dude afk or chilling by the fire and then take hopefully an older character as a student. They're usually the types to sort of stare blankly or moms will ask for teachers. Obviously males not spitting out kids have an easier time teaching other teens/adults but women can just dump their kids in the fire.

Random babies are sort of half the fun because it's a clear "Oh shit!" moment that's not troll related. While he made the pregnant belly I don't see it actually coming. Bones despawning faster would be nice since you can change sids bones to normal bones with a little troll magic.

In regards to the curse thing, I think I was mostly worried about carry over curses from the last three months between /die baby cursers and the potential of other curses. I personally curse traded (instead of cursing someone off screen purposely would curse trolls such as Shady to their face so they would curse back to make it a 2 way block) but from the sounds of everything someone like me is going to be fine and someone like Shady is fubar. From the stats it seems like there doesn't need to be a wipe of the curses thankfully.

I mean you're not wrong. The current system encourages people to afk and feed afk people which is obviously bad.

Maybe the simple answer is to just not give negative score for using the die command? New people obviously don't use the score and because they're not picky they'll naturally climb up the leaderboard as the good players keep them alive. If we remove the negative score from /die you will naturally have actual good players with high scores along with noobs which is better than the current situation. To further on this subject what if life tokens only specifically exist for /die usage? When tokens are low classically it's the new players locked out of the game not the dude spamming /die.

Lower tokens to like 10 or whatever number you pick. If you have no life tokens when being reborn you'll take a negative gene score penalty as you clearly are dying too much or using the command too much.

System didn't work previously when someone had to specifically opt in to the system. You either spent a whole life asking for followers then immediately the chain broke because the next person wouldn't follow someone else or people just completely ignored the system.
