Just out of curiosity, how much of the town was built when you found it? When I died we'd just barely got the forge set up and my son was asking how to make a shovel. All we'd planted was berries. I'd like to know what they managed in future generations.
There was seeds for everything although most farmland was hardened when I first spawned, Was an empty pen made out of gravestones and most of the tools were leftover from the last people.
There was several wells dug around the place and later my son ended up finding a second town ruin nearby with Sheep still in the pen along with another bucket, A basket of pies and a handcart. Hopefully they got that place running too.
Wow, Just checked and my descendents did quite well.
28 gens isn't half bad, Shame that Amy Memic would ultimately cause the Memic name to be lost. For awhile there was still a named branch but that branch eventually died while the nameless one continued.
Looks like they eventually died off due to lack of women.
Nice, I was Eve Memic. I got a lucky spawn and Ended up your town as an Eve. The farms where in a bad shape when I spawned in but with the help of my kids we got everything going again. Was a convenient iron mine right next us too, The smith was in heaven.
Alot of big towns usually get reused by another family when the original people die out.
Still haven't been or seen any cursed people
Yet to encounter any cursed people. Town tried to curse me for kidnapping a baby but they didn't have enough people to curse me proper, I've already lived most of it off.
I might ask people to curse me just to see how people react to me next life.

Only 2 children died early, The rest made it to old age. Lots of sons but 1 daughter made it to old age and produced grandkids which is good enough for me. It was strange seeing nearly all my kids survive, Usually most of them die off at 5 like Duncan.
Thanks to mum and Grandma, Too bad grandma got eaten by a bear after she passed down her bp.
I think bloodline died out sadly.

I was only a nameless boy trying to help out. You were rude to me from the very beginning, you took my soil I was using to plant more berries and told me it was "shit use". You literally started planting berries after that.
You said it was your soil as if ownership mattered in this game.
I knew where a bow was and I considered killing you off sooner but I decided against it for the time being. You pissed me off but you weren't worth killing back then.
But later on you found the bow and came into town with it loaded and ready to kill. I saw you walk towards me with it but I never stood still near you. You spent your time standing over mothers with your bow telling them not to keep boys. That pissed me even more but still not enough to kill you.
I saw you arguing with another girl with your bow still in hand, You later killed her for being a thief. I didn't care much for her but you'd already annoyed me, If you had been nicer in the past I would've let it slide as village drama most likely.
I got myself another bow and shot your ass down. It felt good to take you out. Let that be a lesson, don't be a dick to people without a reason. You'd already made an enemy when you were rude to me as a kid.
You bitched and moaned as you bled out. The others did not care for your death, Your bow and arrow was on the ground. I was standing still and nobody shot me, You apparently weren't liked much by the others either.
I find this quite interesting
Seems fairly reasonable
Bells sound quest is supposed to intergenerational if I understood it well, so if you're a male you wont probably have any chance to reach them. You need woman for the journey. I haven't spawn yet to a girl following a bell still.
Dude I legit tried to do it the other day. But multi gen trips are really difficult and usually not worthwhile.
I actually managed to get a daughter who tried to continue after me. She made it to 40 before getting killed by a boar, not bad for a baby born on the road.
Besides it's easier to simply get born into the belltown in the next life lol.

Do you also suicide everytime when your a boy, even if your mother wants to keep you?Well sometimes in bigger places I will raise some boys, they can smith and such, but they can't continue line survival.
Imo the goal is to get the longest line you can, girls make babies, boys don't.Food is wasted on boys if theres not much, because most babies are dumb and when they grow up and get hair they say 'I'll help' then don't eat enough and die. Or die to snakes or boars.. or whatever. The less boys the more resources saved, bigger girl survival chance and bigger chance that line continues.
And yes, I suicide as a boy usually, though sometimes I load too slow and mom is already keeping me; then I grow and try to help a bit before suiciding.
Yeah I can see why people do this but I think boys can still be quite useful. As a boy I can focus purely on my work and make up for the food I eat, I can also do stuff like rabbit hunting without losing out on babies or having to run back to have someone else nurse them.
I'll be making all the tools, hunting rabbits or building a sheepen while my sisters are struggling to get anything done while each of them are constantly popping out kids.
Boys may not advance your lineage but they certaintly can advanced your civ.
Personally I like to keep all babies, Natural selection will do the rest. Bad kids will die off while good kids will survive.

territory and resources need to be defended to be possessed/owned.Much of our current system is a form of grand truce that people for the most part honor because
it benefits them. This is very true.
EDIT: I think for the tech tree to advance the waiting time in production needs to be greatly reduced or eliminated completely.
Industrial revolution will be fun
Ownership still seems rather in practical to me, call me a dirty communist if you want.
What would the benefit of a locked bakery be?. You could try and trade your pies but you'll die and lose it all anyway. I doubt people would even be willing to trade for the pies anyway, why not just kill or threaten the baker for pies. Now the whole town benefits from the pies.
1. Just spawned and instantly a baby.
2. It's a boy.
Can you elaborate on the whole abandoning boys thing. Do you straight up refuse to raise any boy no matter what or do you make exceptions in the right circumstances?

Basically a copy of the thread about baby suicide reasons.
We've all been left to die at some point and we've all probably abandoned a baby at some point.
Majority of the time when born to Eve, especially if they aren't set up or already have another baby.
Labels would work of people actually cared, Truth is we'd just take what we want regardless.
Our society is full communist so everything you make belongs to town. The closest to owning something you get as clothing but ultimately your just borrowing it, when you die the rest of the town can grab whatever they.
Forced ownership would be a new way to grief. What if I claimed all the tools and everything else I could as my own just no one else could use it. Think about what happened with locks and keys, they mostly got used for griefing.
I'm still kind of on the fence about this.
Turnipseed wrote:This is a very good point if curses are name specific wont griefers wanting to avoid it just avoid being named?
A baby born be negative, that is wired, we all shaped by enviroment, for example if I was abandon by my mom, I will feel worse that life and greater probability I will hate the world. Otherwise a great mom or elder will give me much strength to be a good guy.
Or.....
The abandoned baby will hold a grudge, Take advantage of bleeding hearts so they can grow to grief.
How about the option to curse someone by saying there relation to you. Like if your nameless brother is griefing you'd say "I curse you brother" .
Won't people get overwhelmed by groups of babies coming in on top of the current stream of babies that already exists. Maybe a longer birth cooldown when group babies are born to a mother.
There is also the matter of population, Can a newly built camp handle the sudden birth of four babies. Can Mama Eve even raise them all. Even bigger towns could suffer from armies of babies coming in and consuming everything.
Could be beneficial for a group of experienced players to team up and help a town but noobs will use this too.
The heartbreak idea is stupid, So 1 person in your group dies and your all screwed. No thanks. Everyone being identical is also an issue.
You need a healthy mix of both genders for a stable civ, tipping the balance usually leads to disaster. Boy heavy families can die out real easy, the entire civ relies on the few girls to survive. If you get bad girls who die before reproducing or if the girls are murdered then your boned. So more girls are needed to ensure a future.
But too many girls leads to overpopulation. Without enough boys the town will not have enough free hands. Tons means everyone will be constantly dealing with babies. If a baby group is female then they will be a severe baby boom when they all become fertile at oncem
Hmm, This could work sometimes. I think it'd would be hard to abuse for griefing unless a griefer had a group which usually dosnt happen.
The worst that could happen is a town cursing people with unlikable personalities like me and pein or people that aren't productive.

Our town was basically the slums, Frequent murders and dwindling resources.
A young girl named Justine was recruiting people to go to the bell tower with her. So I tried to secure some supplies for our journey to the promised land.
Wasn't much but I got a partly eaten pie and some cooked goose. We grabbed baskets and set off.
The journey was a difficult one, We struggled trying to raise babies and forage for food along the way. Thankfully we had some bowls for berries. We lost alot of children along the way, We tried our best but many died.
When the kids got older they were expected to help Carry food.
We found an old broken cart which we used to carry more valuables. I had 1 son and a daughter survive the longest.
But the years went by and we got older with no promised land in sight. My daughter and son had fallen behind but Justine rarely stopped. She was desperate to reach finish her expedition.
I lost her in my age since i needed to stop frequently for food. I caught up to her but died of old age right in front of her.
I was sad to see that my daughter had tried to continue on. She made it to 40 before being killed by a boar.
Just water storage
Yeah big town, zero fucks given by people...
People stop caring around 20-30 gens in, all the worst people start coming in and then the killing starts.
I do think your mum deserved it although she was old anyway. As for horse rapist, I think he was just having a joke. He did save your life which he wouldn't have done if he was trying to grief.
I find it interesting, alot of murderers and criminals had troubled childhoods. Seems to be the same in this game, People that get abused or abandoned are far more likely to cause trouble.
