a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

Oh, now I get it. as we are settling down near prairie we don't have that much good trees anymore, and at the same time need more logs. Well europe was once one big forrest and then civilization came. So if we ever get a really big city I assume it will cut down trees in farer away biomes too, not only the surrounding ones.
Hah.. I was just born to a 2ed gen mother who was doing that.
There should maybe be some fast decaying cheap clothes. And then there should be some more advanced clothes. But it needs balance around the sheep. Atm if you focus on wool clothes you overproduces so much poop. Maybe some machines to mass produce textil that can then be used to make clothes. So you need some advanced tech first, but then can mass produce textile.
first image is cool, I was thinking about something myself, but you have much more details!
Last image, why does this not work?
I think you are theorycrafting. Just played in a city where we building more and more rooms, at least 5 people helped to build - good cooperation - was cool.My job was to bring more wood logs. We filled 3rooms 6x5 (or was it 6x6?) with woodfloor and trees were still close.. but I used a horsecard to get em so if they are farer away it would be no problem.
We have ton of firewood around this city now. But thats fine, firewood is always needed, while woodfloor is placed once.
I am fine with the difficulty. However I use Zoom, which makes it much easier. I think spawning as Eve, without zoom, is super hard now.
So I think the difficutly is fine for zoom users, but for not zoom users? Idk
Hey. the part about a fire indoor but without floor. A fire still heats up this building right? And a fire also heats up a building that is bigger then 8x8 if all doors closed. right?
When a door is opened. Is the head gone instantly?
I found a village as Eve after the temp. update, watching at family tree it survived till gen 22. (just to say: I had good help from my children as eve). I actually got reborn later into that city and overpopulation was a big problem, or more, the big babyboom. I think a few hours after I joined the town died out. I think because of the big babyboom.
To buildings, yea Doors are a pain. My tip is to not build too many doors. People build 4 doors per building or even more. I suggest 1 or 2. It's much easier to keep the doors closed. And I like the bearskin curtain doors idea! Also bakeries are often too small. So lets try to build bigger houses, also maybe with multible rooms
I played as a child of an Eve and I kinda liked it. At the beginning it's "hard" to survive depending where you are located. You need to run for food a lot of time. It's important to remember food sources and to not eat everything close to base when you leave the base anyway. After we got the firetool I immediately started to hunt rabbits, a lot of rabbits. I made 2 hats and 2 Loincloth, started to grow milkweed and wheat. then continue to bring more rabbits. As I was in savanna most of the time, I could easy eat there and didn't need to drain ressources from base. Only after clothes I made one backpack which I used to gather stuff like iron, seeds and later more rabbits to base. I really like how you have to prioritize clothes now. Once you have a good set of clothes it gets much better and that is kinda realistic. I have to say, this was on a side-server, not the main server. And while we had a few childs, most time we played as 2.
The big downside to this is, on the mainserver I see ton of people naked, with backpack. And they use their backpack to carry extra food so that they don't starve.. This behavious drains so much ressources from a town that it slowly dies over time.. It really triggers me. Even worse when they go out with only a backpack (naked) die somewhere outside cause it's too cold and they can't eat fast enough. Instead of makeing some clothes with this fur they made a backpack and died.. Total waste.
Thats why I say: Focus on clothes and only backpack later and for tasks you need em!
Will real walls block off moskitos from passing, or do you need 5 layers of real wall too?
I read about the spirale.. but I have no clue how it works. You think it's possible to get spawns that will be closer? How can I found if the spawn will be closer?

Unzip and go into the server folder. I needed to create the Softlinks that are created by the .bat file myself. Then start the server. Connect to localhost.
I was eve-chaining on server1 and didn't pay attention to my hunger and die as 57yr old lady. I am not very far yet, however I really love the land I build my town on. It's in the jungle, so perfect temp but only has 1 moskito in it and it's hard for it to even come close. There is lots of water really close. The smithy has 5 wild berry bushes and 7 banana trees around it. The only downside is I only have 3 rabbits closeby. And want to go back to that place... But I died.
So I played a new Eve round and focused on collecting a ton of foe, with the idea for my next life I craft a backpack and clothes and travel back. However.. looking at the coordinates today I see I have to travel around 7000 meter.
Do you think it's doable?
I was also thinking about taming a horse, making scissors and a knife, to make a saddle. Both items I could bring back in my backpack. However I need a fence too, and that sucks as I can not bring this tools back unless I make a card for the horse too..
I probably have to travel into the general direction, then die to old age, wait a day to get new coordinates to adjust my travel and finally find home again. Hopefully bringing some iron or iron tools back..
I just started an eve-camp on a low population server and I really want to go back there this evening. I could of course play on my own custom server.. However I like to have visitors/babies from time to time.
I personally think an advanced player should have the option to spawn as eve anyway (so he don't /die 20times and leaving bones in every city). But.. that is just me.
It's a bit complicated. Because I see the game is: You play 1 life in a community and then start a totally new life. However after playing it this way for some time you wanna focus on bigger projects, projects that can not finish in 1 life. So you kinda want to get back to the city where your project is. I think this should be possible (even thought its a bit against the idea of the game). If this is not possible I fear a lot of long time players will give up.
But.. how about the mainserver does not allow eve-chaining. But there is a 2ed "main" server where this is allowed?
One more thing: Most people feel connected to a city, not a bloodline. It would be cool if in the future we not just have the bloodline, but also the the city we were born in somehow tagged to our ingame-character. What if you could chose to spawn to the same city again? Or what if you needed to craft something to be able to spawn to the same city again?
Hi
How much ram would you suggest for a private server?
And are there config files? I would like to run it 24/7 but I don't want the decay of baskets and boxes. Dont wanna come back a day later and everything is destroyed and littered. Is that possible?
I played a game today where I made the YUM go up by cooking all kind of stuff. As I cooked it I knew from every food so my yum went up to 15 or so. I knew at least the cook was YUM chaining to. However the problem comes when new player eat all the popcorn because.. yea if you are new, hungry and there is popcorn why not? right.
If we would have an advanced server, where not everyone is just EVE chaining, but just advanced players that will play in each others villages we could do big YUMs, could organize stuff and have tasks like YUM master
If you remove your own homemarker you see the bellhomemarker.
I made it to anal-town from 3k meter away (I found a free hoursecard running around - must be pretty old as the baskets in it decayed while I was riding to anal town)
Recently I got 2 confirmed noobs. I asked them if they were new, Both said "N" but neither was smart enough to move from fire.
Lying fucks.
Just saying something, if my mom puts me somewhere sometimes I just stay there and do some other stuff outside the game for a few minutes.
Going to ideal temp, while I usually do this - most times there is no use of it anyway as my mom picks my up too early when I am still nearly full - wasting her own foodbar.
So.. of course if I get born to an Eve and we are on the run, I will keep attention to the game, but if it's in a camp, I usually don't pay much attention the first few minutes. If you put me on an extra hot or extra cold temp it's possible I don't realize in time because I just didn't expect my mom to be a danger to me..
Lets say your YUM bonus is at 10 and you have to decide to either restart YUM bonus or eat some "bad food". lets say you eat 3 bad foods. that is 11+12+13 (total of 36) extra food in YUM bonus. That's a lot of extra food. Popcorn raw corn or green beans are not so good, but when it comes with a +11 extra food, it's super good.
Once in one life, there was an old man look exactly like the man in the first part of the video, who told me how to make stew. I am really grateful for that and now stew is my favorite food! Someone teaching you selflessly is the best thing I can experience in this game.
Was this in the last few days? Because I was running around setting up stewfarms and teaching people how to make stew all the time.
Stew is good, Stew will save us.
The last stage could have a different sound even more dramatic, thunders would strike, sky become red the earth would start to shake etc
TLDR: Last stage of apocalypse doesnt feel like the world is about to end and that this is a BIG event.
I totally agree. The last stone should color the whole server into a bit red and/or thunders strikes. Everyone should know the end is near (most people don't even realize the apocalyptic sound). And on top of that, a new, red "home"markers should show up, that shows you the way to apocalypse tower even if you have your own home marker. Also Bell towers can't overwrite this homemarker..
Totally agree though. But unfortunately I don't think any any amount of bad reviews will change Jason's mind on this. Seems like its in his vision for the game.
One last detail I forgot to add, a man ran into the village with a decayed backpack, saying he came from 3k away. I said I did too, and he said that I showed up as his cousin many times removed! But when I moused over him it simply said no relation. He had a different last name as well.
With everyone on bigserver it's definitely getting a lot more interesting with family trees. I hope this is something we see more of in the future!
Lol... that man was me. (I am bit bored at work so I checked the forums and saw your post relating to me haha)
RIP Anal Town, The Apocalypse is captured on a video btw.. A streamer was born as quadruples and was instantly killed to use his blood in the apocalypse tower.
What I wanted to say:
1. More towns should have names
2. better names
3. It would be so cool if we could render the whole server to a big image (maybe a google maps of the server.. would be really nice)
