looool, I tried the teleport trick for killing. Got a bald guy to be my test subject. hi bald guy if your reading this. Also got a curse point, but thats cool. bald guy died though cause he threw the wound away and made it impossible to heal him rip.

Its so expensive to make is crazy. I think pine panel should be the easiest to make and last the shortest amount of time. Like tier 1 wall.

Currently -- 4 long shaft + 5 rope + 1 pine needle (crazy expensive)

New Recipe -- 2 Long shaft + 1 pine needle (Cheap tier 1 wall, for early homes for people)

is an example, it can be lower chance (or different formula), and we can make building walls cheaper in resource. Those are small balancing issue. I think adding rain would be better overall experience, and easy to implement. Also im a big fan of rain in any game. Its pleasing to look at, and the activity create such as family gathering during rainy season is nice.

and being an eve is not hard, if you think being eve or this game is hard in terms of survival. you have not played enough.

Yea, but I think we should focus on rain for now. since it is easy to implement, yet it provides a lot of gameplay and emotional value.

Biggest benefit is actually making shelter more useful to survival. Without changing too much gameplay. I been suggesting idea to do this, and it seems rain is the simplest solution to this.

My understanding from what you said, Was sometimes there is small patch of biome and it would be weird to see small area raining. is this correct?

But even if it looks weird for small area to be raining i still think overall this will be great both emotionally and gameplay wise. and small patch of biome looks weird either way.

Right now is really hard to die. I think adding another survival element will be great (it also build from current game mechanic). and aesthetically pleasing. Also adds Random factor (like real life) element to game.

----The Rain----

Game Mechanic:

Each biome has certain chance of rain occurring at interval of 1 year (one min)
Example: green tiles has 1/4, desert 1/10, mountain 1/3, yellow 1/6, swamp 1/3; every 1 min it has chance of raining for 1 min.

Each biome is connect (chance of rain, and raining happens within the same biome together)
Example: if rain is active for green biome. All green biome gets the effect of rain (Server 1 all green biome are raining). (less complex math system, and simple implementation).

--Effect of Rain--

Drop temperature of player to coldest temp level (when in raining tile)

Lingering affect "wet" - When leaving raining tile (you have statues "wet" and lose 1 tier of heat).
-You can get ride of this statues by clicking on (fire) or simply being out of rain for 1 min.

Fire burns twice as fast when in raining tile (last less longer)

Well, pond - gains 10% of max capacity or 1 extra water level.

***Some mention here about the effect of watering all farm plot area. This mechanic might be way to powerful, unless we add stuff like flood chance (which destroy farmed plot) to balance it out. OR some other mechanic like rotting food thats on raining tile. A lot more effect that can be added later on. But for now Simple things will be better.

--Prevention--

Shelter (wall in room) will prevent raining effect on walled in area.

This makes shelter more useful in term of survival (Family gathering indoors while it rains)

Fire -> rabbit -> forge -> steel tools (simplified, but achievable within one generation) less then 1 hour of play time.
*Reaching Iron age by the timespan of one life. (progression waaay to fast!!!)
skip past adobe walls, shelter is cosmetic

---New tech road---

1: Forge = adobe + kiln (permanent) (takes 1 hour to become stable) (requires to be surrounded by walls)
smallest forge room can be 3x3

*(0 = wall, X = forge, C = door) of course bigger is better for more room to forge.

---Shelter becomes vital to survival---
Building shelter with adobe wall becomes vital to survival! (increasing the tech tree time frame)
internal clock system for each player
checks last time being in a shelter

if 5 min has past (lose 1 food bonus) (Example - Gooseberry gives 5 total food, but here will give only 4 food)
if 10 min has past (lose 2 food bonus)
*This makes shelter more important early in game, thus making use of adobe wall to create shelter in gen 1-2 becomes vital to survival (since berry is main source of food).

If eating food within a shelter room (gain 1 food bonus)
*Allowing the access to dinning room and common room for family to gather and socialize

maybe I played too much, but i played like maybe 6 hrs past two weeks. i think i played close to 15-20 hrs a week. when i first got it.
donno is just not as fun anymore. maybe i played too much and i did pretty much everything possible multiple times. this sucks, the game was fun while it lasted, but i will be taking a break from this game for bit. see you guys in a month or two.

I was in town where u can only name children bob, and if not they kill u and ur kid. I end up raising my daughter and son henry, king, and queen. King end up killing the crowned bob and ending that tyrant’s rule. And finally overthrow that stupid bob culty town. Fk bobs

Thanks for the info. Also there should always be max curse point. With my new found understanding. I will say im in favor of 1-3 hour max donkey town! Heh i dont want all the griefer to disappear, cause then i wont have anyone to kill in big civ.

Is always been that way in most of my eve’s child run. So i never had problems with griefers. But wat u described doesnt sound great. Why would u want a utopia, or why would u want to live in it. Anywho i overall still like donkeytown implemention, but what u described sounds awful in human aspect of this game.

Before it was simply:
Curse point decay at 1 hour per curse points. And maximum curse point was at 10
10 curse = black speech bubble.

You can curse every 2 hour.

My question is did jason change the system? i heard him talking about (total life time curse point/20)^2 == 1 curse point decay.

Did he change the maximum curse point?
ex. Max 10 to unlimited

Cause if it is, i dislike jason’s approach to the curse system.

He Already implement donkey town (exile)
And i think there should be max curse point as before, just a bit higher like 15 max

That way u have to live in donkey town at max 5 hours of real life time (which is a lot) but can still come back to civ. (Redemption)

Cursing is not always about griefers so the curse system has to be build on soild numbers.
Overall i like the new donkey town (exile) implemention. Think it makes griefing and curse whore less robust.

Also a way to check ur total curse point in menu maybe? Ive been curse two times i know of (like a month ago). But who know when or how i get cursed so i like to know whats happening since curse system is becoming more enforced and powerful.

I also dont get curse too often due to only playing in small eve camps. I can only imagine the nightmare that is big civ with bunch of roleplaying children.

There is still a lot of simple tech that are missing.

Good example are large iron mine. A new node that need special mining shaft+ Drilling tool to mine. Holds 50-200 iron in single mine node. This allow town that are running out of iron to have closer access to large supply of iron. And make use of road.

Edit*note: good balance to this is allowing single large iron mine to hold 1000 iron, but you need pickaxe(certain tool) to aquire iron from mine. Also there is wait period each time u take out iron thus requires someone to work there full time.

Clay mine pit: access to clay in large quantities.

Stone quarries: flat stone, round stone, large rock.

This are needed for higher tech civilization to have steady supply of resources to build bigger and more. Also road system becomes very useful. New working area and people who transport goods are needed both food and resource. Kinda like trading without currency

Wagons: two horse plus wagon allows for 8 slot.

So many simple, but very useful things to add. And builds on the current game mechanics like roads and cart. And the needs of bigger civilization such as large deposits of resource closer to the city.

How do you spend your one hour of in-game time? On average

Example:
-social (talking, teaching, roleplaying, fighting)

-vanity (clothes, wall, floor, bell tower, crown)

-survival (food, sheep, farming, gathering resource)

-progress (making pen, making tool, making new items)

-griefing (killing tree, wasting food, hiding tool)



Just curious what people do with their time in-game.

Personally I on average spend most of my time on ‘progress’ category.
Please feel free to share the way you spend your one hour.

why dont we improve on the idea of strong community = higher tech and high tier civilization.

Right now we have village not even civilization. We really need more development on the civ tier aspect.

Think about it, if getting to tier 10 civ takes 60 generation. We will mostly all be working towards that common goal. Making it more community driven with similar goals. I thought this game was about community of people gathering to build a civilization.

Currently we are at tier 3 and it barely reach generation 6 before everyone is just in sustaining mode. Thats very boring and not goal driven.

I believe Jason should spend as much time and resource into building a roadmap to tier 10 civilization. There is lack of focus in this game development.

Some people want a multiplayer sim game. This is not sim is a harsh survival game trying to build a high tier civilization and in order to achieve that you need a community.

We dont need community to survive. We need community to progress in game and see more in-game tools and building. Getting high tier civilization is or should be core part of the game design.

Right now it is not, we are so focus on social aspect (racism and other high tier civilization aspect). Yet we have less then the poorest country in our world. Stop bring ur first world problem to this ancient dinosaur age of civ. For fk sake do you think cavemen worried about racism.

What are your thoughts? Cause at this rate we will have a social engineering experiment, instead of a you need a strong community to reach the max tier game.

I think you guys who are pro "penalty for suicide" don't see the problem or solution.

long term solution to the suicide problem is more tech lvl. Right now you can reach max tech within 3 generation. thats a very short amount of time. I would say there is about three tier lvl.

tier 1: eve camp (berry bush, axe, forge)
tier 2: settlement (sheep, cart, carrot farm, pie, bakery, knife)
tier 3: village (most farm, horse-cart, road)

most things like wall, and bell tower not really higher tech lvl.

if you add higher tech (which Jason plans on) then i can play tier 3 village cause theres more to be done other then vanity.
but right now there is no point to me or any enjoyment in playing in tier 3. so I only play in tier 1 or 2 to have fun and progress the settlement.

the suicide baby mostly stems from lack of higher tech in my personal opinion.

another point is that tier 3 is way to easy to get to. is not a rare occurrence to see max tech village. I see 2/3 is mostly just village lvl.
it need to be more rare so I can strive for it heh ( where is the challenge).

In the end. I'm saying stop asking Jason to add penalty, instead make the game more fun for everyone. you are focus on the wrong idea, and going backwards. everyone benefits from Jason adding more stuff, then your flimsy feeling about baby-suicide.

I've seen unnamed kids who are too old to hold be named. without holding them. donno if curse works for them or not. But i just wanted some clarity on this and how you would name someone without holding them. thanks
