Unfortunatly, I forgot last name. Or even my name.

Eve was bit by a snake while I was still baby, stood on perfect temp spot and in the last moment grew hair and ran towards the bush. Mom died a second after that. I met big brother who was a bit south, he started farms and later killed all boars in swamp. I remember we were discussing can we support more children and then a youngest son I had said he'll sacrifice for the family and ran off to die. I guess he hoped to respawn as a girl.

It was quite a memorable life...

I love the new cart with bigger capacity but I'm curious - is the fact that a horse can't pull it an oversight or is it a balance so that you either have bigger capacity or bigger speed?

We have had cities with libraries. I almost starved to death in one while trying to read everything in there...

#30 Re: Main Forum » The Best Mother You Ever Had? » 2018-11-21 12:54:04

I had a great Eve mother once. She was great at directing us children into projects and forbis us to go north into the swamp untill boars that roamed there were cleared out. Unfortunatly, she died young from a snake bite. We finished her arrows and exterminated boars, went to find iron and killed all snakes in the desert she died. She may have left us too early but she founded a village which lasted 28 generations.

#31 Re: Main Forum » Any advice for helping out a stagnant no milkweed, no sheep village? » 2018-11-20 10:06:06

16 bowls of soil for one rope. Or 8 but you use up hoe faster as you double-till it.

#32 Re: Main Forum » Do jungles ruin the game? » 2018-11-20 09:39:47

I have yet to die of yellow fever unintentionally. Maybe add different kind of snakes in a jungle to balance it a bit so it is higher risk but if you kill them you get a really good food source.

#33 Re: Main Forum » Mini guide: Force mosquitos on a corner » 2018-11-20 09:28:52

One of the best designed towns urbanistically had buildings around a central berry field which formed a wall towards outside. Great to prevent wild animals entering village.

Plant milkweed, the problem will just get much more severe.

If you have shovel and chisel start making a pen from belltower bases. If you don't have iron tools you can make it from oven bases but adobe can be hard to find. Even if you don't finish it you can lay groundwork for next generation, leave a bowl of berries and carrot in it and a rope and give the task to next generation to find a mouflon.

That happens all the time. I have been nurse quite a few times.

There is a bug with Steam where it overwrites your settings and forces you to replay the tutorial as it thinks you haven't done it yet. Just rush to the end of it and light a torch.

What about mosquitoes? Can they be repeled or killed?

#38 Re: Main Forum » Idea: Books & Education » 2018-11-19 08:47:02

Using book on baby... Now I'm imagining hiting baby on the head with a book to make it smarter.

I'm horible.

It makes you appreciate it when you get a competent mom who is caring for you.

I have been searching for videos of people playing for the first time and they feel genuine joy and awe when they get born to a player who knows how to play and takes good care of you.

#40 Re: Main Forum » Effective Teaching Techniques? » 2018-11-18 19:51:54

The best time to teach is when you are too old for kids as then you can type long sentences and aren't distracted by giving birth. I ask my students what do they want to learn or if they would want to learn whatever I have resources to show. I must be frank - I still haven't taught forging to anybody in-game due to time sensitivity.

Also, when you are left without fertile females that is a fantastic time to teach as there is no pressure - nothing you will do won't last anyway. You can either teach or prepare village for potential Eve spawn.

I find ginger girl with freckled boobs adorable.

#42 Re: Main Forum » Pain of the Iron Run » 2018-11-18 13:22:12

I have seen notes by the forge saying "two iron veins to the north".

#43 Re: Main Forum » Noticed anything different since OHOL hit Steam? » 2018-11-18 13:05:38

At the start things were very chaotic. However, as time goes by the median level of skill is increasing and you see more and more bigger towns. I'm loving having so many new players as I enjoy teaching. Not seen any racism so far...

#44 Re: Main Forum » 3 Suggestions and my experience with the game so far » 2018-11-15 16:00:08

There is already a heavily modded version of the game called 2 hours one life where some of your suggestions are implemented. Or so I heard, I haven't played it myself but there is definitely a male parent needed in vicinity for a baby spawning to happen.

birth control I don't agree with your views as it will needlessly complicate things but I see where you are coming from. Abandoning babies is already a method of family planing (cruel one I admit) and it makes you appreciate those lives where you get capable parent and a thriving village where you don't have to focus solely on eating.

inventory with aprons and backpacks you already have a personal inventory system. If you put 3 things in a basket and fill a chest with four such baskets you can get 12 items on a single square. Maybe I'm a bit biased as I remember the times when items didn't stack at all and the fact that we can now stack plates still makes me happy when I see it. Items stacking is the way forward and I hope we'll get more such options in the future. I really hope we'll get ability to stack mutton next or at least place it into basket.

typing capacity I don't think present system prevents communication. Actually, I find it great how game system made teenagers have to use abbreviations to express themselves and elders can drone on and on.

#45 Re: Main Forum » How to test the usefulness of your baby » 2018-11-13 21:57:11

I send them to fetch things when they ask for a job. If they can't survive on wild food they would probably be a liability in Eve camp.

#46 Re: Main Forum » List of commandments for new players? » 2018-11-13 17:56:43

First one could be: Don't take ANYTHING from the forge.

#47 Re: Main Forum » Suggestion: Bleeding women shouldn't have babies » 2018-11-13 08:55:00

I agree. Although it was funny when the boar got me right before I poped a baby. It was as if he performed a C-section.

#48 Re: Main Forum » One hour, hot potato. The most peskiest that happened to your camp? » 2018-11-13 08:52:03

A nephew waltzed into a camp proudly carrying a lasso.

He though he made a snare.

Newbies are adorable. big_smile

Glad to hear you are liking it. It is surely an interesting time to play this game.

#50 Re: Main Forum » Why I find naming so important? » 2018-11-12 21:41:18

Haven't had a last name yet in any life I lived tonight.
