2HOL is free. A ripoff, by definition, has to involve a bad financial transaction, so to speak certainly 2HOL is no ripoff.
You Are Hope probably has had less refunds demanded than OHOL, and at a lower rate of players demanding a refunding to players not demanding a refund than OHOL has. So, You Are Hope probably has fewer financial transactions deemed as bad than OHOL.
You also don't play the original OHOL and haven't for years, since you don't play the game as it was when it was first developed.
Those other games also have their own unique content and aren't copies.
Idc about text book definitions etc its just a play on words. But we are drifting away from my main point cause you want to argue about some wordings. The main point being: "mods are never gonna get big enough player base and just divide the already small base that we have."

Therefore, they all have as much claim to be "the real game" as OHOL does. Claiming them as "not the real game" has no basis whatsoever objectively speaking, since again, they are *all* real.
Also, being unhinged with reasoning involves going around insulting people, using an ad hominem argument instead of saying anything substantial. The original person definitely needed correction, and so do you here, since being straight with reasoning involves sticking to the definition of terms and using an argument to back up what gets claimed as I just did. XD whatever. This whole base idea and engine and mechanics are pretty unique and thats all thanks to Jason. I want to support him and just say no to ripoffs. You can repaint mona lisa, but it still aint the original.

From my point of view these other versions of the core game dont pick up the wind. Also i feel like they just divide an already small player base. So i dont see myself ever supporting any of them. I have played almost 2000 hours of the vanilla game. Never used mods never played 2hol. Im here only for the real game.

Imo the wheat field in the max efficiency meta should be lot bigger tho. As you need whet for baskets and adobe which are essential too. Getting the straws from home town for buildings speeds up adobe building a ton.

Tho i HATE sweaty meta gaming in general. Its so boring to see the same thing rise again and a again. Like whats the point if we just build the same thing over and over. I get that somethings are just efficient and make life much easier, but you dont have to sweat on everything
Sometimes i plant rows, double rows and all kinda other varieties. Then after few lifes some sweaty meta grinder destroyes my hard work, wastes tools on it and curses me for trying to build something different.

I miss the combat system and the danger that you had in the old dayes. You could actually fight yourself to victory. Nowdayes you just get dropped bears on to and maybe never even meet the griefer that is behind all this.
This is especially true when i play with vanilla client as it is intended to. Theres really no way for me to catch the griefer in action unless he is a monke brain and walks like 4 tiles next to me and as griefers usually run mods. So they see me before i see them and im helpless to combat that cause i play the game as it is inteded to(VANILLA)

Tho this is basically a story about how unnecessary hard it is to nomad in this game. Like keeping the group together is a thing on its own which you managed pretty dang well. But theres so many dangers out there in the wild and every tech to counter those is high end stuff not available at hands. So that you can be almost 100% that someone will die in span of 10min. Eventually people just give up and mass suicide into wild animal cause its so frustrating.

Tribal medicine would be sweet too. Maybe it could heal you only partially. Like you would die at 40(or youd have a slow effect etc) if your wound was treated with tribal medicine and not addressed again with the pads etc.

I would love to hear some kind of statement from Jason what his plans are for future of this game.
The whole communication in this community outside of the game is a big mess. Like theres discord, jasons twitter, forums and githubs etc. So many sources to get info. Dont know if there has been some kind of statement in other medias than forums but this is what i use.
I haven't seen any kind of statement from Jason that he is done with the game. What i have understood is that he is moving and busy with irl life at the moment. For me that means that he will still get back to developping this game. Tho it start to kinda feel he has just swiped this whole thing under the carpet and acts like there never was OHOL and it feels like he is just hoping that with time people will just forget there was this game called OHOL.
Imo there should be a sticky forum post about the future of this game made by the developper.
It's all cool if hes done with this game as i have gotten so much from it, but at this moment the whole future of the game is a big confusing mess. If he is going to continue developping this game then for its future a statement would do miracle for the player base. You would know that this is still going to continue and would once in a while check up whats the game state at the moment, but now it just feels like theres hasnt been any news for 2 years and im just wasting my time writing ideas and discussing about future idea etc.

XD always the hate. Why the f you want to punish a person who has made something awesome that has brought many moments to everyone here?
I got 1000+ hours worth of gameplay for 20$ thats pretty good investment. Also would be pretty funny to report a game that i bought outside of steam.
I just want the game to continue someway. So much potential.
Big update, steam sales--->boom the game is live again. People are just waiting for new content.

i've never played any mod servers, or used any of the mod. Just played the vanilla game.
Imo all the unofficial servers and version of the original game just eat out from an already small player base. I think its basically one of the main reasons this game is dying at the moment. The player base is split. I still see people talk a lot about the 2HOL. What i've seen its just a super cluttered version of the same game. You just go do some niche thing that you cant do in the original and abandon it.
If the base game dies and someone tryes to pull out something of their own what i would love to see is
HC One week one life.
-Really long life spans 3day/1week?
-All the carebear mechanics removed (cursing, groups needed for killing, elder peace/war)
-Race restrictions
-Codelocks for doors
This would encourage a meta where you have to build up a shelter for you where you sleep when you are offline. Maybe everyone would have their own lockable house. Also love the idea of getting 6day old character stabbed to death... the drama. Would bring so much more long term value and new kinda of play styles. Also would create a totaly diffenret kind of bond between the players in the same family line.
