It feels like we have gotten past the event horizon.

It just has been too long since the last update, jason barely talks about OHOL anymore and seems to be more focused in another project, player numbers have been declined for months and it doesnt seem to be stopping the trend anytime soon (steam sales have been keeping alive OHOL for some time too with fresh blood, but at this point why it should matter if new players lost interest quickly?) and the forums have been pretty dead lately.

It just feels that this game no longer has a future anymore, such potential wasted.

Hopefully the devs of In Next Life will get it right, but who knows.

Re: It feels like we have gotten past the event horizon.

It doesn't help that the banding update made this game so damn boring that it's basicly unplayable?
Just because twisted can't mod?
Welcome to eatting sumulator 2.0.
This game has no purpose besides putting you in a infinite loop of boring lifes.
The steam video claims 10,000 craftable objects, well, thats not going to happen anytime soon, or ever.

I told everyone that it was BS that Jason was escaping wildfires, last year.
Maybe he was escaping California, but those fires where long out, guess it makes a good distraction.

Jason couldn't care less that's why he won't do an update.
Updates don't make money, steam sales do!
Maybe we could start a gofundme and raise like $1,000.
If money was involved I bet we would get an update!

Re: It feels like we have gotten past the event horizon.

Come on, guys.  Don't be so pessimistic.  Jason will be back any day now.   You just wait and see.

The next update is going to be amazing.  It will remove race restrictions (of course) and add a brand new ocean biome to divide up the map and encourage late-game exploration.  More fishing spots and a wider variety of fish to catch.  Wooden boats for traveling across the new biome and hostile sharks to avoid.  New mining options - rock quarries for harvesting stones and big boulders, gold/silver mines with a chance at finding rare gems or other minerals, new smelting equipment to process ore faster.   Restructured water/iron/oil system with new tiers and less inter-dependency between the three key resources.    And the addition of a passenger seat to the car, truck, and plane should really help facilitate traveling long distances as a group or even just exploring with a partner for fun.   Plus, a mini-map is being added to the UI, as well as a larger "world map" that will fill in as you travel around the world, so you can find your way back home after a long adventure on the open seas or deep into the untamed wilds.   Language learning will occur at all ages, allowing wandering teens and adults to pick up new languages from prolonged exposure.  It will be a brand new world!

Also, the next update will add a new option to breed horses to produce new colors and horses that are either faster (race horse) or stronger (draft horse).  Also, a long overdue update to the dog breeds, so they can be used to guard against bears or other threats by barking a warning. Attach a rope to a dog to lead it like a horse.  Hitch it to a post to keep it at a fixed location  or release it to roam freely.   As well as removing "aging" from dogs and pit bull aggression, so dogs are safe to breed and will not die prematurely.   Extra dogs can be "removed" using a bow/arrow.   For sheep, a quality of life update that provides three balls of thread from each piece of fleece, so entire herds of sheep don't have to die to make one wool sweater.  Additionally, a new leather rucksack made from tanned cowhide, if you are tired of the classic rabbit fur look.  Cloth backpacks that can be dyed to match your outfit allow even more options for the fashion-conscious villager.

We can also look forward to the addition of domesticated milkweed for faster thread farming and hemp for direct rope farming.  Upgraded versions of the adobe oven/kiln/forge provide better ways to cook, make pottery/charcoal, and smith once you construct the more advanced infrastructure.   The upgraded versions produce more refined resources and open new crafting recipes for more advanced items.

Oh and did I mention, Jason will be adding a baby sling in the next update?  No more roasting babies over an open fire to stay warm or abandoning infants in a crowded nursery.  Now busy moms can bring their kids to work, hands-free, so babies can see the world without being a burden.  The baby-sling takes up the backpack slot, but allows the baby to breastfeed without occupying the mother's hand-slot.  A decent trade-off for the ability to parent on the move.

So fear not!  Jason has been working hard on OHOL during his long absence.  We have so much to look forward to in the next update.  Our patience will be rewarded.

What's your sauce?

Just sounds like a list of suggestions to me. I'm pretty sure Jason just got himself a nice new house from all the money he made.

Re: It feels like we have gotten past the event horizon.

Maybe the two dozen or so people that keep this game on life support should just stop.

Simple solution. If no one was playing, then new players would get a refund from steam immediately, forcing Jason to actually do something with this game.

You are free to boycott the game, if you like.  But I don't think it will work out how you hope.

Brilliant idea! Why can't we all just boycott the game?

Also, those wildfires are still going on and are very serious: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nat … 104810002/

Re: It feels like we have gotten past the event horizon.

Ive been pushing for a vet boycott for almost 2 years. Doubt it will ever happen, people are too addicted to this game. Its like they're cursed. They have a compulsion and cant stop.
