This is stories all from the start of the game. It stopped being popular at some point but has many tales from plenty of vets and other people.
But the bottleneck isn't buckets or rabbits, or anything that would be effected by having more spawns.
The current bottleneck is whether or not people are willing to run around and collect rubber supplies. It feels like the same small group of players are coordinating so the rest of us can spend out time teaching new players how to do stuff.
The issue is right now none of us can teach how to fix this issue because you can't just walk a new player to a different town, then to a second different town to show how rubber is made. It's an issue that can only be solved by people coordinating outside the game which is in my opinion a design flaw. No one is trading, they're just having their friends be born a different color and giving the items needed to each family so the game is playable. That's a problem in my opinion.
The issue is definitely not that there are too few resources, it's that you need to get a bunch of veterans running around to solve a problem that is impossible to explain or for a new player to solve themselves. The magic barrier systems don't make sense as is, and only serve as a means to stop veteran players from getting things done sooner. At no point can I or anyone else by themselves fix the water issues that pop up in town.
This leads to people dying off at newcomen pump stage if veterans aren't running around in circles making a bunch of rubber.
I mean I get that, you can't teach 5-6 people by yourself let alone can the few people who do know what they're doing carry a bunch of new people. Was just trying to point out why the tutorial is sort of bare bones in the first place.
The game is not exactly playable when it's balanced around 30-40 people online and we suddenly have 30-40 per family hence why I suggested either smaller families or longer lasting wells. To my knowing Jason didn't tweak any of the settings when we talked earlier last week about shrinking family sizes which I think is the quickest fix to some of the issues.
The families with the highest yum chains + warmest families are going to be the ones getting the highest fertility bonus which means if you cn feed a woman you're going to have more kids which then leads to famine and a huge bust in population.
You're supposed to learn the game from other players. In it's purest form you would learn everything from your elders like we did at the very start of the game.
I find more issues with illogical unexplained items such as the iron system for example because why would putting rocks on a well site unlock iron and doing it again not? Like I get for balance reasons these things exist but when the game is booming all the balancing goes out the window anyways.
Besides the normal race restrictions stuff the fact that only one race has easy access to horses is just plain annoying due to in ability to easily transport them. Change horse spawns to be in the savannah to make travel between towns less annoying. Same issue as always: would really like to see breedable worms to shift the fishing from being so skewed towards harvesting rather than fishing. It's one of the only food methods that gets better with more people doing it and as such means someone is stuck on worm duty if anyone else if fishing. Buff to nets being repairable with thread instead of yarn would be wonderful in these times but I get why it isn't a thing.
When player base is high like this either families need to be toned down in amount of people per family or water stages need to last longer. Water is going way too fast in my opinion and is leading towards needing rubber (which requires a lot of walking) and then requires families to stick around to get gingers to kerosene else everyone fails.
Have you tried not stepping on the snakes spawning beneath your feet?
The issue with the engine being able to be deconstructed falls into something Pein always talked about: The how much time something takes to do something vs the time to grief it. It seriously has never made sense that it takes literal seconds to destroy an engine vs the time it takes to build one. It has hasn't made any sense to ever do this so far in my opinion and has only ever been used to grief a town of its resources.
Overall great update though, garlic has been an annoyance and removing the ability to destroy a town water source is great as well.
I mean I agree, I definitely don't think engines should be removable at least from the town well site. This feature was added as a means to allow one engine to be moved from producing water to iron and vice versa. What the update actually leads to is trolls smashing the engine because that was thought to be a good idea.
Besides the previous posted reason, diesel rigs are movable from iron sites as a means for older families to be able to migrate from their original towns to new areas should they want to do that.
Edge is the only impossible one.
Buried wolves exist so wolf farming can be done else the despawn timer is an hour which completely ruins a wolf farm. Done it plenty of times.
Pond flooding was removed because you could completely destroy a towns water supply along with ponds by putting water back in. This is due to water being based on chance of deplete vs counting how much is truly in the pond. Spam a bucket against a deep well and you would instantly run the tech to the next level.
Defaced bone piles exist because Jason was having buggy issues with bones in baskets being put into carts. For whatever reason the bones started taking on other peoples names instead of their own. So instead of figuring what was causing the bug he changed bones to only be containable in carts once defaced.
Remove race restrictions then readd the chance for babies to be born different race than their mother. Jason has zero intention of creating more characters and the game in my opinion looks awful when every female in a town looks the same due to how mother-daughter spawning works.
It's okay to try new things but race restrictions definitely didn't make the game better.
When things are easier to grief than they are to fix/build you end up with issues like the plane has. Without even talking about the kerosene use the things can be completely disabled by building a 1x2 fenced area with a landing strip inside which is just goofy. Yes, you can use maps but A). You need to just run somewhere first or have someone bring you a map of the place you want to visit. At that point why not use a truck? It has more space and only uses the kerosene once. Also, do we even know if that fix works? I'm not trying to be rude when I suggest this but unless someone has actually tested this we don't know if the fix is a fix lol.
Planes aren't used because:
-If you have no landing pad the plane gets yeeted to an Eve spawn location aka the middle of nowhere. This leads to both trolls and unexpecting new players tossing them into the wilderness.
-The have no viable uses currently. You can't fly to the tutorial anymore as a means to balance out iron collection. Planes died so kerosene mining picks would be more viable.
-Incredibly high costs. You can pretty much destroy a whole towns source of kerosene with a single plane which is just plain wacky.
In regards to just the landing strips: Honestly, he just needed to add a second tier of landing strips that require higher tech resources and that would just naturally decay into a passive state. Basically light bulbs + landing strip = Open landing strip. After X hours decays into closed landing strip and you just poke it to turn it back on. This would at least require effort to grief planes which then discourages random people from doing it.
But yeah, planes and airports should just be quick teleports between towns as there's no reason to use them over trucks or even horse carts as their distance is like 10k now and that's like a sub two minute drive in a truck.
If I could close threads I would. I really really would. I cannot delete posts or lock threads else I would have locked these dumb posts long ago.
Even if I ban spoon he would write up Jason (again) and then Jason would just have me reverse the ban or undo it himself.
This thread is terrible and you should feel terrible for posting it.
Yeah yeah I see the reports folks. Can't ban people for derailing threads otherwise that problem would have been solved ages ago.
You guys should know by now Spoon is not going to argue with you in good faith so I recommend talking with AI spoon. At least then you might actually get some reasonable responses back lmao. Lets try to play nice with each other or at least ignore each other.
DestinyCall wrote:The update is hardly a secret. There are news articles about it and everything. It's kind of a big deal, apparently.

What update, dont see anything.
Go talk to minecraft forums if you talking about that game or state it in topic that you are not talking about this game. This stuff is missleading.
It's literally no different than when spoon spams a thread about weekly updates.
Hell, this thread is probably in better faith as they're talking about something actually occurring vs leading people on with something known to not be happening.
If that player gets killed then your meme score lowers which means you're a bad player. Therefore fences are only used by very good players for very good reasons.
The game sure is dead, huh
We're all playing the INL alpha.
Ohol definitely dead.
A mouflon pen can just be a 3x1. Place a rope in one tile, leave one open and the last tile is the mouflon.
Mouflon will spawn a baby who will walk back and forth between the rope tile and empty tile refreshing its timer. Eventually your pen will be a mouflon, a permanently fresh lamb, and a dead/living lamb in the last spot. Just use the rope on the lamb to bring out a baby when you need it.
Given the limitations of this game engine i'm not sure what else people did expect from dogs. Sure, dogs ware broken like most of updates but that got fixed.
I mean look what YaH did with them. Dogs either protect you from wild animals, dig up resources, and something else I forget without peeking. You can make dogs useful. Dogs are useless for the same reason horses run away from you when carted - Because Jason wants you to suffer.
Zero content = no reason to post on the forums.
Terrible threads = zero reason to care about the forums.
Even if Jason returned tomorrow and started cranking out content you would still have little to no quality posts on the forums. People actively avoid posting on the forums because of the nonsense posted on here.
You guys do know you don't have to reply to his trash threads right? I unfortunately can't do anything about him spewing trash everywhere.
Shredded cabbage would look horrible on the crock and would be a visional eyesore.
Every stage of sauerkraut has the kraut tag written on it which could potentially cause issues. However, you can just hover over the item to see what stage it is.
At least this thread makes some sense.
Thanks for making the game about rape and violence Spoon. We really appreciate you ruining anything and everything.
Yeah, that would explain why the game is on sale too. I guess Jason desperately needs that money or something?
Nice jumping to conclusions. The game was put on sale because he wasn't actively updating it and didn't see the point in keeping it at full price.
